Imo it's the best Disney+ project period, and I feel like it will stay that way for a long time. This (and Werewolf by Night too) feels like the only time Disney actually gave full creative freedom to the creators, and let them do their job instead of shoving more cameos. The level of writing is above anything Disney has done recently. Quote

Fingers crossed for the second half of 2023 sets. Quote

I hope the bomber and interceptor are a good scale to the solo tie They'll almost definitely be to scale with the 2021 TIE. I prefer the older scale but hey, at least we're finally getting remakes of these sets. I'm very hyped about these sets, and that's not just my love for The Mandalorian talking. The Pirate Snub Fighter seems interesting. No exciting details yet but it's cool to get a new ship design at a low price. Hopefully it comes with some cool figures, like maybe Greef Carga wearing his new Season 3 drip. The Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor might have just beat out Jabba's Throne Room for my most anticipated 1HY 2023 Star Wars set. Amongst many of my disappointments with how Lego handled the Rebels sub-theme, one of them was how we didn't getting a Fang Fighter. It's a cool ship design so I'm glad to finally be getting it in Lego form. And of course, it's very exciting to finally be getting a new Imperial TIE Interceptor after so many years. It's crazy how after so many years of fans requesting for a new TIE Bomber and Interceptor, Lego just decides to drop them simultaneously. Especially since they'll be releasing around the same time as our SECOND 501st Battle Pack in three years. I would not have believed all this stuff to be coming if you'd told me three or four years ago. As for the minifigure selection, I'd guess around four or five figures, plus Grogu maybe. A TIE pilot is a no brainer and I'd be surprised if we didn't get a new Bo-Katan in this set. I also think this will be where we see Mando himself and I bet this will be the first set to feature Beskar Mando with updated helmet printing that matches the Durasteel Mando from the UCS Razor Crest. Maybe if we're really lucky, we'll get a new Darksaber mold here too. That would ideally leave us with one or two additional figures for this set, maybe some additional Mandalorians. Additionally, I'm glad to see Lego giving these "starfighter duel" sets another chance after the Vader TIE Advanced vs. A-Wing didn't seem to sell super well due to its price. I also think that with the release of these two TIE variants, that knocks off two of the noteworthy OT starfighters I still feel like I'm missing from my collection. I'll really only be missing the B-Wing and TIE Advanced now. I'm excited to see how these sets turn out! Edited October 21, 2022 by The Stud Quote
Mandalorianknight Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 YEAAAAH BABEEE! THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR! THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT! A new TIE interceptor, which we haven't had in forever...and a MANDALORIAN FANG FIGHTER, my favorite obscure ship, the thing I've loved since I got it's x-wing model 6 years ago (Under the name "protectorate starfighter", and the first real MOC I ever made? I audibly gasped when I read that. I honestly wasn't expecting much from the MandoS3 sets but this just got jumped to the top of my wishlist. I mean, holy sh*t. I don't even care if it has awful minifigs or tons of stickers or something.... IT'S A TIE INTERCEPTOR AND FANG FIGHTER!!! Also, fun fact: For both the interceptor and bomber, a baby could have been born after they released and that baby could go on to celebrate reaching adulthood by purchasing a copy of the new set. That's how long it's been. Quote

I was hoping they'd do a fang fighter since it was in the trailer, but I didn't think they would since they just did the regular Mando fighter that is admittedly relatively similar. The other two ships seem awesome too! EDIT: I may be misremembering the Fang Fighter's presence in the trailer, but predictably they'd be in the show anyway in some form considering their role in Rebels. MaximillianRebo Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Very happy to hear the news about the upcoming Interceptor. Glad now that I held off buying last year's TIE fighter to do the popular Interceptor mod. Crossed my fingers at the time that TLG would eventually come out with one of their own, but didn't expect that to happen so soon. 2023 will be a good year for TIEs. Fang fighter sounds great, I'm always up for my spaceship models, and will be interesting to see what the Snubfighter actually is (similar size to a Delta-7 or Eta-2 I guess given the price point and piece count). BrickBob Studpants Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 (edited) I wonder what we can expect out of these two sets figure-wise. Din, Grogu, a pirate (hopefully a new species rather than another Weeqyay, Nikto, or Klatooinian), a TIE Fighter pilot, and a Mandalorian to pilot the Fang Fighter are pretty much guaranteed (unless it’s Din piloting it). Personally, I’m hoping for that rumoured Hulkbuster-like IG droid for Grogu , Bo-katan, Greef’s new outfit, and Christopher Lloyd’s character on top of that Oh, and a member of Babu Frik’s species! Or is that too greedy? Edited October 23, 2022 by BrickBob Studpants Quote
Big_Daddy Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 I'm interested in that pirate snub fighter. I know I shouldn't but I'm still hoping for a classic version of the Z95 headhunter (meaning a pre TCW version). As for the other set, I'm really interested in that mandalorian fang fighter but I don't need a new TIE interceptor; the 2006 version has too much emotional value for me (same as with the upcoming TIE bomber). I'm glad for the people who want it though. Quote

McMurder_them_softly Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Pretty stoked about the dual fighter set. I thought it worked great for Rebels and looking forward to this one and the TIE bomber. Might need to get that new TIE fighter even though I don't like the smaller size. Depends on how the other sets look with it I guess. Waiting for more info on the pirate snub fighter. I heard with a heavy grain of salt, that something for May D2C along the lines of a buildable Chewbacca? I highly doubt that is the case. Food for thought I suppose...I don't believe it but wanted to share with the community at any rate. Quote

As much as I'd love to see a classic Z-95, I think this is the most likely theory. It will either be the ship seen in the trailer or something totally new. If it is an existing ship, the M3-A Syck or that unnamed Bounty Hunter starfighter from season 1 would also fit the profile. Quote

ToaDraco Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 (edited) With the dlc characters for LSWtSS being shown, not only does that Captain Rex look like it's based on a new official figure but Cad Bane's tBoBF design absolutely looks like it's based on an upcoming figure and really gives me hope we might actually get another tBoBF set, hopefully one based on the finale with a Rancor. While I really want that Krrsantan and Cobb Vanth to be based on real figures, to me they look more like they are trying to imitate LEGO's design aesthetic rather than being based on actual figures. TT has gotten really good at imitating LEGO's aesthetic over the years but their designs still feel slightly off when compared to the official figures. Edited October 26, 2022 by ToaDraco Quote
cosmic Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 (edited) I missed out on the last Tie Interceptor, so to get both that and a new Mandolorian ship in the form of the fang fighter in one set is so exciting. I’m excited to see what figures are included given the builds are likely good enough for me to pick this up. Not to jump the gun however, Lego could always come out with underwhelming builds. Trying to be optimistic. Seeing the new Sabine for the DLC pack I really hope she pops up in a set for whatever Disney plus show she ends up being a part of. I have always loved Sabine Wrens character and costume and don’t feel any figure has quite done her justice yet. She needed more arm printing, and brighter pink colors. Can you believe her pink helmet only appeared once in Lego? I really hope we get another pink helmeted Sabine in a set down the line to lower the price of said pink helmet on the aftermarket. But really to just give us a figure with the quality of print we deserve. Edited October 26, 2022 by cosmic Quote

The Arealight helmets are amazing, but it's difficult to find quality customs of Sabine's torso, legs and arms. Yeah, it's kinda funny that with all the goofy decisions Lego has been making across the board recently, Star Wars has been doing fantastically in my eyes. I didn't think the sets prior to 2020 were bad by any means, but I definitely feel like, so far, this new decade has been a bit of a renaissance for Lego Star Wars. Technically Leia's costume did exist before, but they always had her in a tan jacket, when her entire outfit was white. The UCS falcon was the first one to have a Leia in her ESB costume in all white, though she appeared with a slightly less detailed version a year after the UCS falcon. I thought it was han's first costume too, but he does appear in his blue jacket in an AT-AT in 2010. On the other hand though, it's a pretty major update to the figure, and it's the first time both Han and Leia had their oxygen masks on. I don't think either are as popular as Kuill, but I also don't think Kuill will be more than around $50, much less $150 like the guy I was responding to said. I mean, maybe? I could see kuill showing up again somewhere, but the Mythrol is a lot less likely. I agree. I think Kuill might stay around $40 or $50, but mythrol will drop with lack of demand. And like you say, of course retirement will bring their prices back up. Really? under his post you should see a picture of a minifigure's head and hair saying "Mick, Corsec, 286 xp", then John 14:6 below that, then a billion links. Are you on Mobile? Does Mobile hide signatures? Fortunately, you seem to be right, puh. Then I think its actually possible for me to be an owner for the kuiil and mythrolian. If I can get them for around 50€ each within the eurozone, I think its affordable, just hope they eventually go down a bit in price. Quote

While I hope we will, Clone wars is MUCH more popular than rebels, and most of the clone wars stuff we've had recently was from the recent Season 7. Every once in awhile we get a super obscure set like the Azure Angel, Sandspeeder, or Purple Clones tank, but it's rare. I think we'll see RO and Solo sets before any rebels stuff resurfaces. That said, we do have a chance with all the Ahsoka stuff making it more prominent. If not a tie-in to rebels, then at the very least we'll get updated figure designs from the ahsoka show for the characters that appear. Quote
