Guys I dont get how this is even a topic of discussion.

THREE out of four of these sets are some of the absolutely most demanded sets along with some really demanded figs and this news just randomly pops up today? Come on

It's only really believable because its playing on other rumors and your own wishful thoughts.

So it's either an April Fool's joke, or it's a reverse April Fool's joke, where it is actually real and they dropped it on April 1st to mess with everyone.

I remember when Lego basically did that to M&R by giving him the info of the 501st Battle pack on April 2nd and he still admitted he thought it was an April Fools. :head_back:

On the other hand, isn’t it mind-boggling that Lego doesn’t…you know…make the most demanded sets and figs? And print money? As a for-profit company?

I don’t believe the rumors but I’m also stunned at Lego‘s refusal to make some brain dead easy money. I’ve convinced myself into believing some of the old head designers just don’t feel like making them.

Naah, they won't put a Rex in an expensive set like that, maybe 170$ max but def not a UCS, the people are gonna be angry as heck.

If people get angry at Rex being in a Ucs I’m genuinely getting mad, the whole problem with the UCS gunship was that the figs weren’t exclusive enough and not what fans wanted, so there is no excuse they learned from their mistakes

I don't care as long as he eventually ends up in a set cheaper.

It's one thing to pay a premium to get early access to him. It's another to fully lock him behind the set.

Putting cody in it made absolutely no sense, the gunships appeared in the background, the primary focus was the AT-TE, also Rex is one of the most popular star wars characters ever, so people are gonna get angry, not everyone can pay 650$ or more just on lego...

Maybe a little cruel from Promobricks, but not unexpected. The "decide which sets get to be cancelled in the next 10 years" from Brickset was pretty funny if anyone hasn't read that yet.

I did like that one.

I think it's fake (It's the UCS venator that confirms it for me, and the ghost's figure selection doesn't hurt either, as it doesn't fit the leaks at all, or include Ahsoka), but the minifigure selections are EXACTLY what lego would do for the gunship and speeder. Simultaneously giving fans exactly what they wanted (more clone legions, a way to battlepack the 332nd, that Vaughn everyone was asking for, a new padme) while still being absurd figure choices.

They said they don't lock characters to UCS sets anymore, and that seems to be the case. All characters from UCS (Not MBS of course) sets these past few years have been in system sets either a couple years before or after their release. My guess is if this is true, which it isn't, rex would only have arm printing in the UCS set, to keep that variant desirable while still letting fans get Rex without paying hundreds.

- A UCS Venator, let alone one that locks Rex behing a $650 price point, seems WAY too crazy to be real.  It's one thing to put Cody in a $140 set, but putting one of the most fan-requested figures in a $650 UCS, especially like two years after saying they didn't want to lock heavily requested figures into expensive UCS sets...I dunno, that seems fake.  Like, would they seriously make Rex exclusive to a $650 set?

To add on to this, even putting aide the whole April Fool's element, I cannot ever see Lego putting Rex in a set that expensive. Heck I don't think he'll even show up in one as expensive as Cody did, because he's among the most popular non-movie characters in the wider Star Wars universe. The amount of money they'd make from locking him in a $650 UCS cannot possibly make up for the amount they'd make if they just throw him in a reasonably priced set that almost any fan can afford.
