The figures are the most outlandish part to me (well, aside from the UCS venator being the coming UCS), so I could see this, but I think it's much more likely they're just straight up fake.

Dude Ashnflash literally had a fake set built to review alongside other youtubers, compared to that, writing a couple paragraphs is nothing.

 

Promobrick's major issue, if it is indeed fake like I think, was making the leaks be for the gunship and ghost. Those have been speculated on for awhile now. It'd be something else if they said, like, UCS Glup Shitto statue with the 1083 piece set being Geode and the 1394 piece set being an 18+ diorama for Young Jedi Adventures, but picking two vaguely realistic and extremely requested choices is going to make some people believe it, even if the figure selections read absolutely fake.

Even the ghost minifigures make sense (outside Qauire) Hera,and Jacen probably won’t be main characters in Ahsoka.

Supposedly it was just the gunship, and given how promobricks seemed to be trying to be semi-realistic with the other two sets, my guess is they chose to use those figures exactly to get people thinking it was real. I highly doubt lego skips out on a gunship pilot again.

But 170€ for 5 minfigures which 2 of them we don't care for is pretty absurd to me.

The ghost is one of the ways to easily show this is most likely fake (potential ahsoka spoilers, though they're more anti-spoilers than anything):

Quarrie and Jacen haven't been leaked at all IIRC, and while Jacen probably makes sense to have a cameo at least, I doubt if both characters had major enough roles to get minifigs we wouldn't have heard about it yet. Not to mention that this set contains not only No Ahsoka but is missing many choices that would seem obvious, such as Sabine, the rumored villains, etc. 

I don't think we'll see Ezra and Thrawn in the sets, unless they find them early in the show which seems doubtful, but the lack of an Ahsoka or ANY of the rumored villains is pretty telling.

2 of them you don't care for. I'd certainly like Quarrie and both him and the mystery character might have big roles in Ahsoka that will make them wanted.

I'm personally only missing Zeb and Hera so yeah Zeb would've been great but complaining about the figs included when we haven't seen the show seems silly to me.

Though 5 is low I agree, the ghost is a set a set I really want and if it was good enough I'd pay the equivalent of $170 for a ghost with no figs

I agree there, if Promobricks wanted to be funny, massively enraging everyone with a $100 Young Jedi Adventures set and then being revealing it to be a joke is better. It leaves everyone with a feeling of "phew, that's a relief." If and when the current joke is revealed to be a joke a lot of people are gonna be dissappointed. Better to anger and then soothe than it is to to get everyones hopes up and then rip it away.

Quarrie and Jacen are red flags, but I think the more obvious thing is who's missing. Ahsoka herself isn't guaranteed to be in every set for her show, but it'd surprise me a little if she wasn't in the first 2-3. More importantly, the show's got a wide selection of villains leaked, and even if big blue and his new troops don't show up for spoiler reasons, there are a number of other villains, and even with lego's wacky figure choices recently I can't see them making Jacen and Quarrie, who haven't been in any reliable leaks IIRC and as such, considering who they are, probably aren't more than cameos (if quarrie appears at all, because this list is fake), but not all the main villains.

What? There have been only 2 Ahsoka sets confirmed so far. This "Ghost" isn't one of them, we don't know what it actually is. I'm saying, it could be because it'll be featured in the show, but it was never confirmed.

The two Ahsoka sets that are $70 and $100 US are still confirmed, we just don't know what they are. This set would be an addition to those IF it's based off of the Ahsoka show.

Also now MandR is saying the leaks are real, take that for what you will.

Man, im sorry for this meltdown, but a 170$ ghost really repulses me, i was excited to finally get a new ghost and to be able to complete my phoenix squadron, if it was the 100$ set, i would gladly buy the 70$ too just to complete the full team if i was missing like ezra or zeb, im just hugely disappointed with this info honestly, 170$ is really asking, and with a pretty disappointing figure line up (to me) it's not worth it, i apologize.

There are two ways to do an effective april fool's joke like this. What you say, where it's something 99% of people would dislike, making it easier to recognize it's fake, is one. The other is something just extremely absurd, so even if it's highly requested, people realize it's fake (I.E. they say the gunship is the 1083 piece set, but it's only $80 and has 10 figs including Rex, Fives, and Jesse.). What promobricks has done is really annoying, as it's highly requested sets, but not quite absurd enough for everyone to realize it's fake, and the figure selections being less than ideal muddies it further.

You're completely right, though I'd offer different reasons mainly based on the figure selection of the other sets, as I've gone over in previous posts. Plus the UCS venator itself screams fake to me, even if the gunship sold spectacularly, I couldn't see another prequel UCS being finished before 1HY 2024. You gotta remember that they have to see sales, not just immediately but long-term, before greenlighting another set, and then they actually have to develop it. I wouldn't be surprised if something like a UCS venator was in some level of production already, but seeing it before the Gunship retires is unlikely to me, as is the massive leap in price point between a gunship and venator.

I don't remember if promobricks expressly said it was based on Ahsoka, but c'mon. Jacen and a new character being in it means it HAS to be Ahsoka (and again, this stuff's fake, man.)

Given inflation alone, if they rereleased the exact same ghost today as they did in 2014, it would be $115. Keep in mind, that ghost had 4 minifigs and a pretty lackluster interior, just the cockpits. Add to that lego's own price increases, adding figures/detail/enlarging it for an interior, and the potential inclusion of a phantom, and $170 is pretty realistic. Of course, this particular ghost is fake.

Wasn't the 2018 falcon 100-140$? It was pretty big...

Also about those 4 figs, at least they were phoenix squadron and main characters, unlike mr mon calamari, random dude and jason

I could buy in to the theory that the sets could be legitimate whilst the minifigures are the more April 1st-oriented aspect of the article, but again it still feels too far fetched. I do agree that the minifigures as a whole seem quite underwhelming.

I’d be interested to see how Lego would tackle a UCS Venator over the next couple of years though. The ISD had the docking bay and mini Tantive-IV - it would be awesome to get a small complement of microbuild Jedi and Clone Starfighters (Delta-7Bs, Actis-2s, V-Wings, etc) that could be stored within the ship through a small docking bay build within the Venator.

They waited to drop the leaks on April 1st on purpose to cause armageddon. Also, there is an instagram channel called FakeLegoLeaks. He only does bogus LEGO leaks. He posted these leaks today. A commenter said "you only post fake LEGO leaks, But today is April fools, so is the trick getting us to believe that a REAL leak is fake?” And FakeLegoLeaks admitted that's what he was doing. 

The most sketchy part of these "leaks" to me is a Captain vaughn. Though if that leak is true, perhaps we get 332nd troopers in the swamp speeder? Would be cool. Also, putting Captain Rex in a $650 set is totally believable. Which makes him unattainable for me. I'm actually torn on these "leaks." Once I heard that Captain Rex would be in a $650 set, I was upset and, on the balance, probably want these leaks to not be true. With that said, I totally understand why someone spending $650 on a set would want something exclusive.

Bro, Lego is and always will be about sets, not minifigures. Buying a battlepack for the figs? Sure that makes sense. Buying a $170 for the figs? Now that’s ridiculous.
