QuiggoldsPegLeg Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 (edited) Here’s hoping that the Gunship and/or Ghost are available for preorder by May so that I can use them to get the May the 4th promo. (It’s very unlikely, but since the Spider Droid is already available, I’m holding out a little bit of hope.) 2 minutes ago, Old Master said: it cant include kanan if jacen is in it even if its rebels based. True. I really would’ve liked Zeb in his Rebels outfit though, since I missed out on the first and only one so far. (I am extremely excited for Jacen and Quarries figures though.) You can find MOCs of tie fighters done in this style and they look like yo-yos Quote

joebiwankenobi Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 The Fang and interceptor set looks better than I expected, considering the price and its a combo. They're both a little average, but the Fang Fighter seems slightly stunted. No worries, though. Modding that should prove rewarding. Quote

MaximillianRebo Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Interceptor vs Fang Fighter looks pretty nice, but it's a pity the FF looks to have exactly the same colour scheme - grey and black - as the Interceptor. Some more colour or accents would have been great, but I guess that's more down to what appears in the show. Also Mando with the Darksaber and new helmet print for a set released next month is really going to eat into the Spider Droid sales in August... Quote

It's tough when there's so many SW properties now, because they have to balance OT staples with stuff that needs remakes from TCW/Rebels/PT (Not even going to mention the sequels, Solo, or Rogue One at this point...), and then you've got new content with the Mandalorian, Bad Batch, Book of Boba Fett (I believe we're getting a second season?), and Ahsoka, among other things. 42 minutes ago, MaximillianRebo said: Also Mando with the Darksaber and new helmet print for a set released next month is really going to eat into the Spider Droid sales in August... Yeah, the main draw there will probably be getting him in a cheaper set, plus Bo-Katan and a pretty cool spider tank build. That said, I kind of hope this eats into sales of it a bit and results in it going on sale quickly and often, because I like the build and I really want that Bo-Katan figure, I just don't want to spend $50 on it. ToaDraco Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 (edited) Wow, so those were real? Wow. These are both very exciting and very concerning for my wallet. The figure selection for the Swamp Speeder is honestly pretty disappointing. The Republic Gunship is great and the figure selection is very strange but I'll take it. The Ghost sounds fantastic though I was really hoping for a new Zeb. Hopefully he shows up in a different set and he BETTER have the digigrade legs! The pieces have existed for quite awhile but sadly rarely get used. The UCS Venator sounds great but waaay out of my price range and the fact that THIS is the set that is getting the brand new Rex is utterly infuriating and frankly insulting, unless of course we get Rex in another set and the only exclusive part is his head with the bandage on it. The $70 T-6 also sounds great but as with all of these sets, very stingy on the minifigs for the price. Seriously, how does the small Swamp Speeder get more figures than $50, $70 and $100 sets!? The Fang fighter vs TIE Interceptor looks pretty good, figure selection is a bit weak and I'm not sold on the design of the Interceptor's cockpit but it's so nice to finally get a new one. Definitely need more pictures of this one. Like others were saying, this year got expensive really quickly and we still have some Ahsoka sets we don't know much about yet. I feel the opposite way tbh, I'm glad that it looks in-line with the 2020 (?) TIE. I was put off the Bomber for that very reason. I do really like the look of this new set, but as others have said the figures are a bit of a let down. As for all the rest of it, idek what to think anymore. Gunship: I hope this one is true most of all. I've always wanted at least one iconic ship from each of the films and AotC is the only slot that's missing. I've never brought myself to buy the retired ones so this is perfect. Padme and Palpatine are an added bonus. Swamp Speeder: I was only interested in this when Rex was rumoured for it. I'm happy for hardcore clone fans but Rex > Vaughn for me. Which brings me to... The Venator: Can't wait to see it (if true) but it's out of my budget. Again, happy for everyone who wanted this but heartbroken that this is where Rex finally shows up. Most believable part of this whole leak haha. Ghost: Cool and long overdue. But now I have the UCS Falcon them being so hilariously out of scale would bother me if they were both on my desk. I am still kind of skeptical, but with FalconFan backing it and that weird concept leak a month or so ago who even knows what's going on with Lego anymore. Quote

The TIE Bomber canonically has a smaller port window than other TIE craft so it's quite accurate to the source material save for the way the way the set was designed didn't allow for the figure to be seen through it, which in my opinion was an acceptable compromise for a better, more accurate TIE Bomber. It just wouldn't make any sense if they used that same design on TIE Interceptor. My issue with the Interceptor is the same issue I had with the most recent TIE Fighter; the whole thing is too blocky. 4 minutes ago, Something_Awesome said: My guess is that Zeb get's a Y Wing set. Yeah, though I do not think we get that Y Wing this year. The Y wing will probably see plenty of action deeper in to this saga of shows or whatever you want to call it. In any case, a Zeb figure down the road is a lock. Edited April 2, 2023 by Something_Awesome Quote

THELEGOBATMAN Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Honestly, I couldn't care less for any of those sets, but I'm glad people are excited. I realise all of those are extremely highly desirable ships (poor wallets tho ). The prices for some of those are simply unacceptable — the Swamp Speeder costs 27€ for 108 pieces? That has to be quite possibly the worst PpP ratio I've ever seen for a regular set. Republic Gunship has 1080 pieces for 150€? What a terrible deal. Honestly, nearly all Star Wars sets have terrible prices this year — both Dioramas should cost 20€ less, Battle Packs are overpriced as hell, Microfighters cost twice as much, 20–60€ regular sets cost 10€ too much, and the 100€+ sets should cost at least 30€ less. It's beyond ridiculous. The only set I'm buying this year is the Throne Room Diorama, and I'm gonna wait for a huge discount too. Quote
ArrowBricks Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 (edited) Egg is splatted all over my face. Fang Fighter looks average imo; Tie looks amazing. Going to have to have another day of recovery before commenting on the leaks specifically. Edited April 2, 2023 by ArrowBricks Quote
Kaijumeister Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 (edited) I suspected this was all legitimate, imagine the uproar if they’d have been fake! My thoughts: - Gunship: Very happy we’re getting it this year and the minifigure selection is pretty great, however given the nature of this vehicle, a couple of more clones and perhaps even a Jedi character would’ve been gladly received, especially at this price point. - Swamp Speeder: 332nd is a very odd choice, but it’s cool to get Vaughn and his troops for Siege of Mandalore Ahsoka to command. A Swamp Speeder is an odd vehicle to pair them with, but I’m not complaining. - The Ghost: Going by piece count, this is going to be a beefy ship and I’m sure it’ll be well designed. I’m not feeling so hot on the minifigure selection, but that’s fine because of the other Ahsoka sets. - T6: Called it! Makes sense to keep this as the smaller Ahsoka set given most of it is just the wingspan. Getting Huyang is AWESOME, and I pray Ahsoka comes with arm printing and a new mould. Surely Lego know by now how oversized and unwieldy that Shaak-Ti montrail piece is. - UCS Venator: Wow wow wow, can’t believe this is happening. Might just be the first non-minifigure scaled UCS I buy! I would love it if the centre of the ship opens up to show the hangar bay that runs across the centre of the ship along with some micro build vehicles. Rex will obviously be in a smaller set next year, so I hope his Y-Wing could still happen. - Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor: Bummed out that the minifigures are so basic, but I’d rather they’d save budget for the Ahsoka sets anyway, The builds are beautiful though, so will definitely buy. This is a hell of a year for the theme, and at this point there’s no denying the coverage both Clone Wars and Return of the Jedi are receiving to tie in with their anniversaries. It also seems like Lego is going all out by dedicating 3 pretty large sets to the Ahsoka show, which is great! It’s a shame to see Bad Batch and Jedi: Survivor getting shafted, but the lineup is solid. Edited April 2, 2023 by Kaijumeister Quote

I also think the scale of the windscreen to the actual cockpit is a lot more accurate, especially when you look at sets like the UCS TIE for reference. Quote
