LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Looks like a pretty good lineup for the second half of the year, makes up for the earlier disappointment of the mechs and buildable Chewie. Nice that they are remaking the Ghost and minifig scale Gunship as the previous versions now cost a fortune, and the UCS Venator is something that fans have been wanting for a long time now. Minifig selection could be better though, no clone pilots for the gunship again, and the long awaited P2 Rex remake locked behind a 650€ paywall? If you want to get him from bricklink he's probably going to cost as much as the 2013 one.

Starfighter twinpack looks great too, interceptor looks like a significant improvement over the 2021 TIE fighter. A little dissapointing that it doesn't have the previously rumoured spoiler minifigs but understandable given the release date.

I'm pretty sure the wings will rotate, the fang fighter isn't a new ship design and so you can bring it down to concept art, just because it isn't in the box, maybe it's just shown in flight at the same angle on both sides. Quite me if I turn out to be wrong but it'd be ridiculous of them to omit that feature and we don't have any solid confirmation that they have omitted it so I'm gonna assume that haven't omitted it.

Nah, I'm pretty sure they'd have said, plus when have when seen one like that ? Not on croissant iirc only on the banking clan world. We see regular laats in the galactic capital quite a bit though, when they are hunting Ahsoka, when they are hunting Grogu, when Mace is on his way to get Sheev.

That would be a legendary thing to happen. The magazine has a lot of potential with figs from this wave, I think I'd go a little feral if they put shock troopers in a magazine. 332nd would also be great.

Hope so. But someone on Reddit who said they saw the inventory for the set was mostly red with few white pieces and no wing bubble turrets. And then the Lego Leak mods seemed to take their word for it in the deep dive post. But I hope it's just a normal one.

Yeah, we were all expecting a certain moff or admiral or... something :p 

I do think it's weird that they've included Mando though: we already get him in a lot of sets...  maybe he will be flying one of those ships?

Mando is getting released way too much lol to be honest tho, I still dont have one...so this set kinda works fine for me...but because of the hidden reveal I thought thered be..other figures included lol ah well.

Missed the Ahsoka stuff. Very happy that the T-6 is the smaller set (less money lol) but I also saw theres more figures in it that havent been named? Liking the selection tho so far. Man this is my personal fave wave lol

But if the rumors are true, LAAT/I gets a reduced piece count with a huge price raise when Ghost gets a huge piece count raise for a more reasonnable price.
I do not understand the logic, LAAT/I is a fan favourite that deserves more. I know Ghost is liked but it can not compare to LAAT/I.
Both should have had this piece count raise.

Personally, i wouldn't mind a Coruscant Guard Gunship, it adds individuality to the Gunship line up and less Yellowing over the years, but they'll have to make a Shock trooper battle pack next year, otherwise we won't be able to fill up our Gunships! Only 2 clones per Gunship...

Well, I was just starting a gunship MOC, so I guess that's on hold for now, unless the set ends up being the mostly red CW style. I'm excited for the Venator though, my YT channel was built on capital ship MOCs, so once we hear what scale its in, I'll start building a fleet of Munificents, Providences, Acclimators, etc. Might even mod the set to have a full interior, especially if the hangar bays can't open. Shame we'll have to wait till October. 

Wish there was some way to army build droids, but as someone who owns 30+ regular B1s I think I'll live. I'm glad people who want the 332nd and the ghost have sets, but personally I'm not interested, even though I enjoyed s7 and Rebels.

Most excited for the UCS Venator. It will look great alongside the UCS Star Destroyer.

It's the completionist collectors and certain youtubers who want exclusive minifigs in UCS sets.

I'm opposed to exclusivity for exclusivity's sake like C-3PO with the detailed legs in the memespeeder, Kuiil in the Razor Crest and now Rex in the Venator. Exclusive minifigs can sometimes be OK when it makes sense, like the cantina aliens who wouldn't really fit in any other set. But locking important characters behind large paywalls when they could easily be included in more affordable sets is a bit scummy. And this is coming from someone who owns the Razor Crest.

Well now that I've read the last 10 pages, I guess I can say I feel mildly vindicated since I was leaning more towards the leaks being real. Anyway, the sets all sound pretty interesting but honestly I am not sure if I'll get any of them other than the Swamp Speeder (it's super overpriced but I can't not get the 332nd). The Gunship sounds cool but I'm not sure if it will fit in the budget, and I know for a fact I will never be able to afford the Venator. I'm glad Promobricks is saying that Rex will show up elsewhere because it'd really have sucked if he was stuck there. I really hope that the only difference between the UCS Rex and whichever one we get next is the face print, because even losing arm printing (assuming he has it) between them would be a shame.

A little disappointed that the gunship is going to be all red. When have we even seen this on screen? 10 years since the last one and instead of giving us a versatile generic color scheme that works with multiple legions, we’ll be getting one that ONLY complements the Coruscant guard.

Of course, this is assuming the disgruntled ex-employee who leaked this info on reddit is telling the truth.

No doubt about it, for some reason, Lego does some obscure stuff time to time, like the 187th clones.

Bo-Katan Recrutes Fenn Rau and such in the next two episodes, which is pretty cool, hopefully we'll see him in the Ahsoka sets, please lego!
