- TIE vs Fang gives me nostalgia vibes (TIE vs Y wing) which I love. I like the figures, just assumed they'd be better than what they are? But really cool builds for the ships. Also wish the Fang could spin (doesn't look to be the case). But yeah, defs interested.

- Swamp Speeder - Love the figures, but will wait for a sale or will BL Vaughan. Idk. But it is an expensive BP

- RGS - think this one is very interesting....would mind getting it for myself. Figures rule....but not as cool as the other sets I want.

- The Ghost - give me a Hera and a massive Ghost and I'll be satisfied, and that seemingly is the case here. Woohoo!

- T-6 - been pumped for this one for awhile and the descriptions make it sounds even better than I thought. Very excited for it.

Is this Fluffy person on Reddit legit? They’re claiming the Padme in the gunship is a remake of the 2012 TCW Padme with a tan body suit and dark red jacket. (If this is true that’s an L on the part of Lego considering we need new variants for Padme and her in the senate garb would just be perfect.)

Edit they’re also claiming that Hera will have her dark brown jacket this time as well.

The Hera thing is consistent with the leaked Ahsoka trailer seen last year, so that makes sense. Padme is fine imo, I just want another version of her lol

Considering I have all the previous gunships I wouldn’t mind a variant.

Considering that some people aren't
A. Willing to just go buying $300 poorly aged builds from like 2013
B. people who had rich parents who bought them all the original gunships when they were kids
or C. Are unfathomably ancient enough to have been an adult with spare income at the time of those original sets coming out

I'd really prefer if they just made an updated Gunship. I'd probably still buy a Coruscant Guard one but wellllll, i'd buy more than one of a normal updated gunship.

But i'll probably have to wait until i'm like 35 at this rate.

It's really annoying for me personally because it seems like a trend these days for Lego

"hey we made a 501st legion set with 3 501st troopers and a jet trooper BUT it's $10 more than a normal battlepack and you get nothing significant for that extra 10 bucks"
"hey we made a clone wars AAT set BUT it looks terrible, it comes with 1 clone and a jedi that's available in a cheaper set anyway"
"hey we made a republic fighter tank with niche clone troopers and a really good Windu figure BUT it's a horrible design and you need to mod it 7 different ways to make it look passable."
"hey we made an AT-TE, it's amazing and comes with lots of clones BUT don't ask us about the head printing "
"hey we made another 501st battlepack and it's $20 BUT it's based off battlefront 2 and you're probably gonna want like one of them"
"hey we made a 332nd Swamp Speeder with 3x 332nd Troopers and Vaughn BUT it's 100 pcs, will probably look awful and Vaughn will definitely not have a printed visor"
"hey we made a gunship after a decade, it comes with fox, padme, palpatine and shock troopers! BUT it's an ugly red version we see for about 10 seconds, Oh and yeah, even though this is the only concievable set we COULD put Commander Thorn in, we're not doing it. XD LMAO"
"hey we made a Rex figure again BUT it's behind a $650 paywall"
"hey we made another Ghost! BUT it doesn't feature most of the Rebels cast this time around."

Don't get me wrong I like all of those things, they're great sets, but those BUTs really do just make me dream of an alternate world where Lego was just that little bit more caring. So much 9/10 but 10/10 was just a few hours of thinking a little harder away.
And of-course we could be completely wrong about the upcoming sets shortcomings, im just basing it off what we're hearing.

I want only tie interceptor with pilot and astromech

Ironically, I want only the Fang Fighter as I already have an interceptor MOC!

Fang Fighter VS interceptor looks good, though I wish they just split them into two sets. I don't want to pay $90 for a set that I don't want half of, so I don't think I'll get it.

Thoughts on the other sets:

Swamp Speeder: The figure selection is strange, but good. However, at the price and piece count, I'd actively advocate for people to not buy this set unless they want more $25-27 "battle packs" with the same piece count as the $20 ones (which coincidentally is the same piece count as the $15 ones...). They'll have almost doubled in price over 3 years if we all buy these. I could be wrong and the swamp speeder could just be using massive CCBS pieces or something, but I doubt it. Keep in mind that with Vaughn and the other troopers, the maximum amount of parts that can actually be allocated to the speeder is 87... about the same as the $15 mando battle pack had allocated to it's build.

Gunship: I still don't understand the figure selection, but any gunship at all is good. If the shock troopers are cheap on BL I'll pick them up, but since I have a modded 2013 one, I'm in no rush to buy this set.

Ghost: I am very glad we're getting one, even if the figure selection is insane to me. I have the 2014 one, but if this looks good enough, I might end up having to get it, as I love rebels.

Venator: I'm sure this will look great, but I'm unsure as to how well it will sell. I know I said you could throw P2 Rex into anything and guarantee it'll sell, but $650 is really stretching it. And right after a UCS star destroyer retires, too. I just don't know if the market is there, and as with the gunship back in 2021, I'd rather have had a playscale one.

Considering that that person was dead set on there being a 332nd Battlepack in august, 2 whole weeks ago. I'm gonna say they definitely know something.

This is a bad take imo, AAT is not bad at all and the figures rule.

Oh and also I better not hear a single "waaah lego doesn't care about the prequel era" complaint again after we're getting the what, 3rd largest SW set ever based on the clone wars, alongside the rest of this wave.

It's tied for 5th with 2013 according to Brickset but obviously it's the biggest in a long time.

I'll add to it that Ahsoka wasn't available in a cheaper set until a solid year afterwards, and if the number of clones in a set is your complaint... c'mon. We're getting new clone legions and commanders left and right. It's literally to the extent that Fox and Vaughn are coming.

A little confused here. What 2013 set was at that price or piece count? Or do you just mean the amount of CW era sets, or something like aggregate price/piece count?

Yeah, like even the battle droids in that set are cool. I don't get some of the hate that set got, I have it and the build was rather fun and the thing looks great.

# of sets according to Brickset for 2013 and me just kinda counting for 2023.

2013 had 7.
2023 has 501st Battlepack, Yoda starfighter, Rep. Gunship, Venator and 2 Clone Helmets EDIT: and swamp speeder(hehe i forgot it). So 7.

Although I do recognise that like 4 of the 2013 ones were poly bags.

The 2020 AAT? Dude it’s terrible lol, it looks nothing like the source material, from the comically oversized cannon and turret head, to the bulbous base. They nailed the design in 1999 and 2009.

I just wonder, isnt this list more likely to be an aprils fools joke? Has anybody verified it otherwise?

Idk would pretty much every leaker and every lego star wars youtuber ALL fall for the joke or ALL be in on it?(with the ones who are in on it saying they've known for about a month)

I’ll say it again: they love the clone wars, they don’t care as much for strictly prequel film sets. Nothing from TPM. Nothing non-clone on the market for the prequel era.

I honestly....dont care. You're never gonna get sets that are 100% exactly like the real thing, it looks close enough tho, it functions well, the build was good, the figures were great. Idk that's just my view on it.

Also of note that if lego had looked at the source material for 2 seconds and looked at their build for 2 seconds they would have noticed that they put the side cannons on upside down. Easy fix but c'mon lego.

That’s good for you, for many of us who care about Star Wars vehicle sets looking like actual Star Wars vehicles, it looks awful. “Close enough” (in this case, hardly, it looks nothing like the source) doesn’t cut it when lego is capable of great accuracy (as seen in many of the sets releasing this year) and when they’ve literally done better in the past (2009 AAT)

Idk I'd also be considerate of the constraints likely put on designers for this stuff...because afaik, they aren't free to do whatever they want with these sets...so close enough for me is good enough. Also consider the larger the sets become...the less affordable they are for...most ppl and specifically children out there.
