Is it possible that the red set is actually the unknown larger Ahsoka set and not the Gunship?

Well the vehicle Padme was on as she landed on scipio was a republic cruiser. It's possible. It'd also make a lot more sense than a specifically coruscant guard gunship. Though if it would sell as well? No idea. That'd be better for me specifically, i'll gladly grab a big red republic cruiser and wait for the plain white gunship.

Not too optimistic on that though.

Maybe, but if someone is looking at the inventory, they would also see the Minifig parts; whatever this is, it includes Fox/Padmé/Shock Troopers/The Senate.

This is just the spoiled Lego fan in me coming out, but if they went out of their way to make an all red coruscant gunship, they totally could have made a 2003 Clone Wars Muunilist gunship, that would’ve been an awesome homage to, you know, the show that actually took place 20 years ago

It actually could be. A Consular-class Armed Cruiser (the ship seen in "Crisis at the Heart") has the right colour-scheme (dark red/white, some black and grey, and no green) and large Republic logos on the sides (matching the sticker sheet); the only thing that makes me doubt is the LAAT cockpit canopies in the inventory.

Also, does it have the weird red / white  spike canon things' pieces on the top of the gunship? Like are the pieces that were previously used for the gunship in the inventory?

The last republic cruiser was 900 pcs so it's not outside the realm of possibility but i'm still not getting my hopes up for a cruiser lol.

Agreed. Also, while Lego are prone to making questionable decisions (as the leak of the gunship not being the generic version shows), I don't really think they'd go so far as to make a different but similar ship to the Gunship when it has been so highly requested as of the last few years.

Ahsoka’s Trial. I’m not 100% sure if they’re all in 1 episode, but they’re def in the same arc.

 

 

I hadn’t been phased by any of the complaints up until now (e.g. minifig selection, prices, exclusivity) but the red Gunship would really put a damper on an otherwise tremendous wave.

I definitely would’ve preferred Plo’s Bros if they were going to make a non-standard Gunship; it’s my personal favorite & it would’ve been an easy color swap back to a standard LAAT/i—not to mention a Phase 2 Wolffe & Wolfpack Troopers.

Muunilist 10 was def the pick if they were really going to change up the look.

As somebody else has said, the Coruscant variant doesn’t make sense without Thorn—as that’s the only scene either appear in. Fortunately he should be easy to MOC w/ a black visor, black kama, and perhaps dual molded red/white legs. It wouldn't be perfect but it’d be close enough.

It’d also make amassing Shock Troopers much more difficult. The standard version could be used for virtually every legion, scene, etcetera; it’s not out of the question to buy, say 5, to have a Squad of Shock Troopers + a Gunship for the 501st, 332nd, 212th, modded for Wolfpack, P1s. They’d absolutely need to give it a magazine run or something.

Wow at first, i was gonna end up homeless in the streets, but with new developments im not, ghost is a skip, 100$ ahsoka set is a skip (ill ebay zeb or something if hes in it.

For those who care, im honestly just gonna get

-2 501st battlepacks

-1-2 swamp speeders

-1 gunship

-T-6 shuttle

and the spider tank

for the rest of the year that's it, maybe the yoda's starfighter if the 3rd fig is Gree or something.

Pretty much exactly my concern. A coruscant gunship will sell less than a generic gunship because it is objectively less versatile. And now I’m worried about this whole “no ball turrets on the wings” claim. Is it even a gunship at this point?

And a ton of other figures, I guess its a "make as much money as possible" decission since a lot of clones have the same / similar molds. But I dont collect clones at all, except the standard phase I and II so they loose my money this way at least.

The set looks like the outside bubble turrets missing that he is confident it’s a gunship. 

 

Also Yoda’s Starfighter is a dud (just Yoda and R2)

Well I remind you there is always tg chance they changed the apearance of the gunship and added the wing turrets and did the classic color scheme, I swear if they make the coruscant version before a new regular which is the one we need I’m going nuts

I pointed out that the episode in-question is when Thorn dies (not Fox):

Is there a chance he is wrong? Please god tell me he’s wrong about the gunship
