Not even remotely close to the same thing; UCS at $350 isn't aimed at the same customer as a $120 play-scale gunship. If this republic gunship turns out to be a dark red Coruscant Guard version I'm gonna be disappointed. I like niche (versions of) ships in general but since I still don't have a system scale gunship I want one that fits legions from AOTC, ROTS and TCW. I don't see myself buying it if these rumours about its colour scheme are true. Besides, I'm old and patient enough to wait for a regular version in hopefully less than ten years.

My wallet (and my wife) can rest relatively easy though. But not entirely, since the Ghost is high on my list, and that one isn't exactly cheap either.

I want them all. Add the new 501st battle pack and the Pirate Snubfighter into the mix and I’ve got a nice haul for 2023 to enjoy later in the year!

I could list thousands and thousand things that are actually silly thinking, which I really dont have time for and people wouls not have energy to read, but if my personal opinion is that I think that I would rather have something else than one more gunship, and you think thats silly? Good luck manouvre yourself through this SILLY world then.

I know the topic has moved past it, but I really love the new Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor set, that TIE has to be one of the sleekest LSW sets yet, it looks perfect. 

That said, can someone explain what's so wrong with the minifig selection? It has an awesome Mando reprint (which is great for people who don't have his head and aren't interested in any of the other sets with the new helmet), a gorgeous new blue and silver Mando, a second copy of that great TIE Pilot update, and a coop generic astromech (something we don't see nearly enough if anymore). I mean, would it theoretically have been cooler if it had Thrawn or Gideon or someone? Sure, but I can still think of LSW sets with way worse selections at a similar price, and honestly some of you have been acting like this minifig selection shot your dog and bedded your wife, and I just don't see the issue.

Yeah people wanted/hoped for a really highly sort after figure. 

That being said, people were sort of desperate for something exciting considering we hadn’t really had the main rumours that have made us all so excited. Plus, the reveal got caught up in these rumours which wouldn’t have helped things.

Let’s see in the final episodes if Lego have missed anything. My guess is that they might have included a more exciting different Mando than the Fleet Commander we have gotten. Just a hunch, though. 

So yeah, I think the figure reaction is not simply just because people think it’s bad.

Nothing’s wrong with the minifig selection per se, it’s just not a draw at all, since almost everyone has a Din at this point, and a TIE Pilot and Astromech Droid aren’t particularly interesting figures. 
 

4 figures for $130 just isn’t great, especially when we have sets like Bib Fortuna’s Throne Room with 7 interesting figures including multiple new moulds, for the same price.

It’s just bland and boring. This version of Din is available in two other sets, the TIE Fighter pilot and astromech are lame, and the other Mando isn’t particularly visually appealing. Just another rando mando with blue accents. Plus we were expecting some spoilerific characters, but that’s on us.

for me the best minifigures to put in tie ships are droids. In 75300 tie fighter is protocol droid. In tie bomber is gonk droid. In tie interceptor vs fang fighte is astromech. I want all tie fighters because of droids too.

Yes but you have to acknowledge the type and nature of the set. 

The throne room is a playset where all of your figures can interact with the set. Whereas with the Fang Fighter and Tie Interceptor there is space for 2 figures maximum.

I agree, different levels of affordability.  Nowhere near the same scenario.

OMG I haven't even thought of that. It is actually an amazing idea for us that army build canonically as we can switch officer and specialist troopers helmets from the battle pack with regular bodies on 332nd and have them as lieutenants and sergeants while at the same time fixing the standard troop problem with the BP. I am even more excited for the swamp speeder set now.

Considering that the 332 trooper has the same body as a regular 501st Trooper and the Officer from the 501st battle pack is pretty similar to a default 501st Trooper one could make regular 501s.

Canonically, there were only 144 332nd troopers in total, a subdivision of the 501st. We pretty much saw all of them on screen, there were no specialists. But it would still be cool to look at

As a long time member and contributor on the forum I believe it's not your intention to escalate the situation. I'm just going to use your comment as a reminder to everyone here that each is entitled to his/her own opinion. It doesn't add any value to the discussion to put down anyone else's opinion about a Lego set.

Hm,Canonically half of the all 501 legion was the 332nd division.
