McMurder_them_softly Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 (edited) Wow. A lot to catch up on this morning. UCS Venator sounds awesome, including the figures. I believe LEGO has flipped again on exclusive figs (see last years UCS landspeeder and C-3PO). Rex sounds great! Swamp Speeder with Vaughn! He might be my favorite clone. Had to pick up his Hot Toy version. It's great! If he needs a visor print, Cody should have had one too. Doubt we will get that. He should have a new torso and helmet to differentiate from the other troopers. Gunship sounds great, figures and all. Even the color! Would prefer Thorn but Fox is great as well. Hope it has turrets on the wings. I also like the bubble ones from the troop bay but that's just my personal preference. Nice to finally have an option for a Ghost. Will wait and see on the rest. To be honest, I am still not 100% sold on these being real, but am going with it for now. Edited April 3, 2023 by McMurder_them_softly Quote

Also that quote from Anakin doesn’t state “half”, it only states “divide” which doesn’t imply dividing by half The 144 number is from a reference book from before anyone knew Clone Wars Season 7 was happening. Although regardless, we can see from the hangar in Victory and Death that there’s quite a few plain white clones (and ones with normal 501st markings) in the 332nd, so not all of them have Ahsoka’s face on their mask. There were 40 clones + Rex who were there to meet Ahsoka to show her the helmets. There were around 80-90 clones (of various designs) in the hangar in Victory and Death, and we can assume that a bunch died on Mandalore and on the Venator. So my guess would be there’s more than 144 who went to Mandalore (including pilots & technicians on the Venator) but probably less than 144 with the Ahsoka masks. Edit: Although I guess since they did have enough clones to crew a Venator as well as fight the Mandalorians, 144 probably could be reasonable for the amount of clones with Ahsoka helmets. I know that, but it’s a reference book, and Filoni is fine completely overwriting actual novels for no reason. The amount of clones they said there were in a reference book had no actual bearing on the show itself, nor did the reference book have a finished show to base itself off of. Quote

But if the book and the show don't contradict one another (and they don't), there's no reason to assume the book's figure of 144 is inaccurate. Quote
Flawless Cowboy Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 I’ve been wondering where to put my 501st army (super jealous that the snow troopers get their own AT-AT but the 501st have no vehicles to store them) but now I can line them up under the shadow of the Venator, alongside the 332nd. Quote

I specifically remember the sheer footprint size of the UCS ISD because I was looking at display cases for it when I was still on the fence about buying it and I remember that it had the biggest case by far. UCS falcon's case footprint didn't come close. I wonder how big the UCS Venator's footprint will be.. One thing is for sure - next UCS prequel set gotta be MTT in minifig scale! Quote

McMurder_them_softly Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 I wonder if the rumored Death Star May 4th promo is DSII or DS - original recipe? I hope DSII. That is more visually interesting for me and works with the ROTJ anniversary thing going on. Wish the rumors are wrong and there is a figure with it. Quote

But my idea was putting vaughn's torso on a second officer and changing the rangefinder with a visor just for customizing. Quote
PreVizsla Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 By canonically I meant those of us that army build by researching about army units from canon Star Wars reference books opposed to copying what Solid Brix Studios popularized/invented 12 years ago and just slapping figures on the baseplate aimlessly and sometimes even mixing phase 1,2, senate commandos and royal guards. Canonically army building clones would be making squads (9 troopers + sergeant), platoons(4 squads + lieutenant), companies (4 platoons + a captain) etc. This is why this current BP is so good cause the only phase 2 sergeant is Hunter so people had to be creative and add cloths and stuff to their figures or get customs. And now we get not only 501st, but 332nd leadership as well with the upcoming swamp speeder cause we can switch helmets with standard and leadership clones and it also helps the people that randomly slap things on a baseplate cause they can switch helmets aswell so it's a win win for both and I appreciate LEGO for it. All that is missing for 332nd is lieutenant Jesse. Quote
Goofster Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 Vaughn is super lazy, they just reused the previous 332nd helmet but with holes, theres so many key differences on the helmet, like the tan stripes cody has, but with the ahsoka paint over it, or the weird line under the mouth like cody. Quote
PRbrickbuilder Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 This is the wildest and funniest Lego leak I can recall! UCS Venator and a Gunship are great news for PT fans, and LEGO really is giving more and more arm printings to SW figs (now for Ahsoka and Sabine)! Quote
