Vaughn is super lazy, they just reused the previous 332nd helmet but with holes, theres so many key differences on the helmet, like the tan stripes cody has, but with the ahsoka paint over it, or the weird line under the mouth like cody.

100% agree. He really needs a Cody-like print for his helmet. It is different from the regular 332nd.

Disappointed in the supposed Fox leak. Both the figure in-game and the leaked torso piece have inaccurate white on the whole upper armor part, when only the separated chest pieces should be white. I don't know what it is with TLG dropping the ball so hard with those figures. First the legs in Endor diorama, Vaughn with reused helmet and white ab armor and now this.

I honestly wouldn't trust lego to print his helmet properly lol. They did 212th wrong, I don't even wanna know what corners would be cut there. Customs are probs best bet for him

Only the front part of the top is blue and the logo is the empire's 🤣

Btw does anyone know what Ahsoka looks like in the Ahsoka show? Like is the same outfit from Mando?

is 3 332nd clones in swamp speeder good for you all?  What other clone do you prefer in swamp speeder? Me instead of 1 332 clone I would add 1 p2 white clone beacuse he was on venator in season 7

327th star corps would be ideal, but I wouldn't mind the 442nd siege battalion as a nod to the old 2005 set. Honestly I would prefer any unit that could be used universally, and not one that participated in one battle at the end of the war.

By canonically I meant those of us that army build by researching about army units from canon Star Wars reference books opposed to copying what Solid Brix Studios popularized/invented 12 years ago and just slapping figures on the baseplate aimlessly and sometimes even mixing phase 1,2, senate commandos and royal guards.

Canonically army building clones would be making squads (9 troopers + sergeant), platoons(4 squads + lieutenant), companies (4 platoons + a captain) etc. This is why this current BP is so good cause the only phase 2 sergeant is Hunter so people had to be creative and add cloths and stuff to their figures or get customs. And now we get not only 501st, but 332nd leadership as well with the upcoming swamp speeder cause we can switch helmets with standard and leadership clones and it also helps the people that randomly slap things on a baseplate cause they can switch helmets aswell so it's a win win for both and I appreciate LEGO for it. All that is missing for 332nd is lieutenant Jesse.

How would you organize a 501st army around the new specialist clones? Would they get their own squads or would they be incorporated into the plain 501st squads?

Canonically, there were only 144 332nd troopers in total, a subdivision of the 501st. We pretty much saw all of them on screen, there were no specialists. But it would still be cool to look at

Not sure why 144 is so commonly accepted when it’s only a half-truth. A Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Company is actually 165 Clones:

- Squads are 9 Troops (Privates) + 1 Sergeant

- Platoons are 4 Squads (36 Privates + 4 Sergeant + 1 Lieutenant)

- Companies are 4 Platoons (144 Privates + 16 Sergeants + 4 Lieutenants + 1 Captain)

So, yes, 144 is correct but it doesn’t include the command structure. If you’re assuming a full Company was sent to Mandalore, you’re actually looking at 164 332nd Clones + minus 1 Jesse + 1 Captain Vaughn + 1 Commander Rex.

That’s my technicality on a technicality rant. Thanks for reading.

EDIT: I should’ve 100% caught up before posting. Very pleased to see that I’m not the only one with that trivial peeve.

I’ll also add that the non-332nd Clones on the Venator could’ve been support staff and not even technically a part of the 332nd and/or 501st.

This is also helpful and is something I didn’t know about. I’d just been going off of half a Company (even though they 501st is obviously much larger). Guess that means I have a lot more work to do than I thought! /sarcastic thanks/ : )

My source for 144 is Star Wars fandom. Also that quote from Anakin doesn’t state “half”, it only states “divide” which doesn’t imply dividing by half

Eh its whatever, i personally dislike the 332nd and commander vaughn, but its still cool to see although being lazy, i would prefer the star corps too or kashyyk troopers with 1 scout, 2 troopers and one gree

Well they’ve knocked out 3 of the 5 clone commanders (Cody, now Fox and Rex) in the recent Lego Castaways, the remaining two are Gree and Wolffe. So fingers crossed for next year

The question will be how they incorporate them into sets…

Turbo Tank? Arc-170?

Anyway, that’s for another day!

On another note I’m really intrigued to hear opinions on the Yavin Temple currently. With so many amazing sets coming and the ever-increasing price of Lego, is there space for the set in your budget this year?

Personally, I’d have to be really amazed by its functionality. But, I can imagine it’s going to be super popular for the OT’s.

I would have preffered another clone type in the swamp speeder but i really like it in theory to be honest.

We originally saw 1x 332nd Trooper in the AAT in 2020 and the figure and set have been pretty pricy since their retirement. So seeing Lego re-use the clone in a cheap army builder set for those that missed the original is really nice. I have to imagine it's good for business too. You make a new clone trooper, you put it in one set where people can only get a couple at a time. Then once that set's off the market, you get more value out of the work you did to design it and any extra work or money that had to be spent to accomodate for that figure by re-releasing the figure in a battlepack/battlepack-like set. Everbody wins really, we get a second shot to get clones, much cheaper than originally, and lego doesn't have to design anything new for these price points and in the long run we see less clone sets hogging the market each year as lego paces themselves with releases. The RFT, AT-TE and Clone accessory pack all coming out the same year is just overwhelming army builders and taking slots away from non-clone sets.

I'd love to see a similar thing happen with the 212th once the AT-TE retires, and the Coruscant Guard when the Gunship retires. As well as basically any possibly army buildable clones in future. I could see them making new 41st Elite for a turbo tank and giving us a 332nd Swamp Speeder style set with them after it retires a couple years later. They could do a AT-OT or AT-AP with 327th and then do it with them. They could do the Wolffepack with some kinda vehicle and then do the battlepack thing.

They could do for example, assuming an average of 2.5 years of a bigger sets being on shelves:
2023: Reused 332nd, New Shock troopers
2024: (July, AT-TE retires) then in august we get a 212th battlepack style set.
2025: Introduce 41st Elite in a turbo tank (just an example i don't need to hear about which legion or vehicle would be better)
2026: (July, Gunship retires) august, we get a shock trooper battlepack style set.
2027: Just let the clone sets currently available breath a bit, leaving room for non-clone prequel sets
2028: (July, Turbo tank retires) august we get an AT-AP with new 327th Troopers.
2029: 41st Elite battlepack
2030: (July, AT-AP retires) they introduce wolffepack clones in a set.
2031: 327th Battlepack
2032: ETC you get it. Big clone set, it retires, the army builder clones are re-used in a much cheaper price point.

I'm sure some TCW fans would still complain about not getting enough new clone legions but hey, not everything is about them. There's plenty of CIS sets, TPM sets, AOTC non-clone and ROTS non-clone sets that need some love too.
But an average of 1 BIG clone set every couple of years, with small clone set every couple of years is perfectly fair. We get an average of 1 clone set a year, with a new clone legion every 2.5 years, and a re-used legion for army builders every couple of years.
Plenty of room for people to get as many clone as they want, they get all the big vehicles covered in the big sets with all the small vehicles covered by the small sets. Your wallet isn't overwhelmed as an army builder with that system.

Importantly, people who want stuff like Jango Fett's starfighter or any other iconic, non-clone prequel set aren't having their limited prequel era sets every year absolutely choked out by clones. 1 clone set a year (on average) leaves a good few slots open compared to the 3 last year and the 3 this year (4 if you count the venator which is technically true, it DOES have a clone)

The system would also let lego pace themselves, assuming they're only really going to hit the major clone legions (501st, 212th, 41st, 104th, Shock Troopers, 327th) they wouldn't really need to remake any of the legions for like a decade (aside from that cheaper army builder sets they'd all be used in)

It's not gonna happen because it's too predictable and lego doesn't like that because then you can plan your purchases better, meaning they get less FOMO money but still. I'd like that timeline.

My money would be on Wolffe in 2024 in an ARC-170 (WE NEEEEED A NEW ONE PLS LEGO)
and then a Turbo Tank or AT-AP with Gree in 2025 since TLG seems a little more receptive to the idea of anniversary stuff. (it'd be the ROTS 20th anniversary, the movie with gree and a turbo tank in it.)

To add onto that I'm not sure if I'd rather have the regular camo Clones or the scout trooper Clones. Ideally there would be one scout and three identical regular Clones with dark green accessories. Maybe they could be included in a snail tank droid.

This is really important, personally. There’s plenty they can do that is not specifically “Clone Trooper” as you say and more importantly it’s some really good stuff such Jango’s Slave One.

Arc-170 is likely, I agree. Anyway I’ll stop “wishlisting” now.

I’d bet on DSII, a plain sphere would be boring

DSII is more visually interesting, but probably too difficult to achieve at the scale that the promo will be. I am personally expecting the DSI.

why dont we ask fluffysky if he knows something about the yoda starfighter? What if Gree is in it?

I can definitely ask that!

My comment was directed more towards other members, but I quoted you so that I could have an excuse to use a SW quote! 🙂
