UCS Jabba's Sail Barge is heavily rumored, and it's possible the cancelled Jabba's Palace Diorama ends up coming out after all. Maybe we could also get a playset or two from Endor, like an Empire ground forces battle pack or something with regular Ewoks. Cantina retires in 2024, they’ll have to replace it. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Ewok Village 2.0 Quote

It also sort of seems like it depends on the caliber of the character. Like, if they ever do release any of the characters from the MBS Cantina, it'll probably be Ponda Baba or Garindan, but realistically, no one is clamoring that much for a Kabe or Hrcheck Kal Fas figure to where leaving it exclusive to the set is going to prohibit people who want the figure from owning it (same with some of the Death Star protocol droids, or the Ugnaught/Bespin Guards that are exclusive to Cloud City). I feel like Mythrol could end up being the same way, and I think with Rex, it's almost certain we get him, but I could see them leaving Yularen exclusive, since he's somewhat popular, but before this, I don't think there were that many people who were wanting a Clone Wars Yularen that badly. With respect to the anniversaries discussion, I feel like this conversation happens...basically every time there's an anniversary for a movie (which, at this point is any year ending in 0, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9. If you want to count Rogue One then we have an anniversary literally every year). LEGO has never really celebrated anniversaries of SW movies or shows that strongly. It seems like if the branding exists (if other SW merch is using it, basically), they'll slap it onto whatever they're making, and maybe make a few sets tie-in, but it really, really doesn't seem like they're going out of their way to celebrate an anniversary (all of ROTJ anniversary sets with the exception of the Executor were sets that I 1000.% would've expected us to get at some point anyway. Heck, even in 2007, which was the first real major SW anniversary I can remember, I remember them putting the 30th anniversary logo on the box art, but I don't even think we got any ANH sets that year other than the Imperial Landing Craft, and the gold C-3PO promotion. The only anniversaries that it seems they most definitely will celebrate are 10 year increments of LEGO SW existing. We had that fan vote for a flagship set in 2009 and then the remade sets and minifigures in 2019, and I would guess in 6 years we'll get something like that again. On an entirely different topic, the Omega Advent Calendar rumor sounds great! I got the BB Shuttle recently, so I'm just missing Omega, and this will be a great way to get her for cheap. Quote

At that rate we should be getting anniversary waves 4 out of every 5 years, and we all know that's not the case. Even with the ESB anniversary, I feel that was mostly used as a way to launch the helmets line. Yes there was an AT-AT the same year; whether that was included before or after the anniversary branding was decided only the higher ups at TLG will know. Quote

I mean... 2019 was LEGO Star Wars, 2020 was ESB, 2022 was AOTC (which they sorta did), and 2023 is TCW and ROTJ, so we've got a sample of 5 years where we had 4 anniversaries. Even if you don't count AOTC, we've been getting a double up this year, so it's still 4 total anniversaries over 3 anniversary-celebrating years. Quote

AD_Bricks Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 I hope the downscaled Y-Wing coming in Yavin IV has some semblance of a bombing mechanism. I never bought any of the older Y-Wings, so it would be a shame if my only one lacked its defining feature. Even something as simple as that of the TIE Bomber, though smaller to fit within the Y-Wing's shorter height, would be sufficient. Quote

Yperio_Bricks Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 I wish there would be some non-human species comming with the magazines. Like a Quarren or Mon Calamari After about 2 years of buying the magazines (i usually buy 1-3 copies of the issues with minifigures) i more and more think that the minifigure selection is pretty boring Quote

Agent Kallus Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Not 2023 so sorry, but do we think that we will big full wavesfor each of the upcoming movies? Quote

I have to assume so, since that’s how it’s worked with every movie in the past. For whatever reason movies have way more marketing associated with them than TV shows do, so Lego will have a lot more to work with. Although, we’ll be waiting at least 2 years (if not longer) for that. Quote

And I suspect these films won’t be full of OT vehicle rehashes due to their timeline placements, no doubt we’re in for some great sets in the coming years. I’m excited for all of them, but Mangold’s film just sounds spectacular. The very first Jedi? Discovery of the Force? Set 25,000 years in the past? Thinking about the aesthetic of an ‘ancient’ Galaxy just gives me goosebumps. Quote

Let's see if those movies will actually get released, shall we? Wouldn't be the first time that a SW movie project gets canned. I don't know how many projects that Lucasfilms head lady has announced that never saw the light of day in the end. But yeah, if they get released you can expect a good-sized wave. Maybe not as big as it used to be because I still think that those big waves starting with the 2014 Rebels wave were partly so big because there weren't so many movies and shows to choose from to make sets of. Nowadays things are different. But we'll see. Quote

As much as I like to dunk on Lucasfilm for announcing and then cancelling 10+ films, the difference is that none of them were announced at SWC. That makes those recent announcements a lot more trustworthy to me. The previous ones served to appease shareholders, whereas these were for the fans The dates are the bigger issue. Not sure if they’ll be able to keep the current 2025, 27, and 29 spots. Looks more like 26, 28, and 30 to me. …I can feel myself aging just writing this Quote

If Indy 5 is received poorly, based on Lucasfilm's usual strategy, Mangold will be let go from his film if the film even survives. And while the Rey film has an actress on board, I'm still not confident that it gets made. Quote

Come on, there‘s no way DoD is going to be as poorly received as GoT season 8 or The Book of Henry And even if it was, they are already working with Mangold and seem to be happy with his work. The projects that likely caused (or at least heavily contributed to) the sackings of D&D and Trevorrow were outside of Lucasfilm‘s sphere of influence, so they were caught offguard like the rest of us And the New Jedi Order movie having Ridley attached is more than can be said for any of the previously cancelled projects. Agent Kallus Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Just picked up the non-UCS AT-AT, it turns out it's an Amazon exclusive here in the UK, I hadn't realised that. ( Well all exclusives like that are also available at the Lego shop at least in my experience) But anyway it seems like the Amazon exclusives like that ( and Vader's castle and the non-UCS Razor Crest) don't really get good discounts. Now bringing this back to relevance, I think I heard it (well read it) said that the shock trooper gunship and the ghost were retailer exclusives in the US. Now I doubt both would be Amazon exclusives here in the UK but I wondered which was more likely to be it, as I might have get that one sooner and then wait for a possible discount on the others that interest me this wave. 2 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: Come on, there‘s no way DoD is going to be as poorly received as GoT season 8 or The Book of Henry And even if it was, they are already working with Mangold and seem to be happy with his work. These films actually have plots (well we know of one sentence plot summaries at least) rather than just vague films with directors and nothing else, the only film like that we heard of cancelled is rogue squadron, and whilst one announced and then canned is a bad track record it's a much better track record than if we count all the investor announcements and 'rumours'. I mean a announcing it to fans is different than to investors. Fan care about the actual ideas you've put forward and will notice if you change things, but as long as you are making green investors should be happy. Quote
