And no the “amount of pieces or price” are not an excuse considering Vader’s Castle and Jabba’s Palace from 2012 have great figures and moderate piece counts but also look great on display. both are meh for me, this one is obviously worse, but I didn't expect much from a yavin 4 set. it's got that issue I have with most star wars location sets, it's a nice facade at best, but you're just never gonna see something on the level of rivendell or ninjago city for star wars. EDIT: oh i forgot about jabbas palace, that might be one of the few star wars location sets I kinda liked EDIT EDIT: oh and mos-eisley is really good, I should be fair to that set, when it comes to tatooine, lego does a good job at location stuff. May 19, 20231 yr So Yavin has 1067 pieces for 159,99€/$ correct? For that price i can get 4x Indiana Jones 77013 Lost Tomb as a parts pack with combined 2400 (mostly tan) pieces and 4x4 minifigures. Edited May 19, 20231 yr by Yperio_Bricks
May 19, 20231 yr I really want to know what lego was thinking with remaking Yoda’s Starfighter. Like if they had thrown in a Dooku, one of force people with the masks,Darth Bane,or literally ANYTHING semi rare/new I covid at least see a small reason to remake it but why remake the set and have it look nearly identical to the last version yet increase the price by 10 dollars??????
May 19, 20231 yr Yoda's star-fighter isn't a surprise at all, they've been doing it for over a decade, constant re-releases of jedi star-fighters with minimal boring figures. They must make money on it cuz they keep doing it.

Yeah it really is so similar to the old one except they somehow managed to make the proportions look worse around the cockpit (seems a bit higher than it should be). Also, R2 sticks out way too much

My thoughts… Swamp Speeder - Bad, really bad. Yoda Starfighter - Unneccesary. Yavin Temple - Less minifigures than the rumours suggested (1 Fleet Trooper?!), and overall looks incomplete and empty. Agree on the first two, but hold on! We haven't seen the full figure count for Yavin 4. There are figures in the image that aren't shown in the figure list part, like the driver of the tram thing I don't remember the name of. On 5/19/2023 at 3:48 PM, Legofan2001 said: Also that Yoda’s Starfighter has to be one of the worst remakes ever made. It literally brings nothing new or interesting to the table yet it costs 10 dollars more than the previous version………… (that set SHOULD’VE been an Ahsoka Interceptor considering we’ve never gotten it and getting a remake for R7 and Seasons 3-6 Ahsoka would’ve been nice) Amazing. Everything you just said... was right. The set is almost a straight rerelease of the 2017 starfighter, more expensive, and would have been much better as Ahsoka's ETA-2. Thoughts; yoda's starfighter: This has gone from bland to outright awful. It's pretty much exactly the same as the last one, but significantly more expensive. 332nd pack. Would have loved this at $15. Would have been fine with it at $20. $27 is absolutely insane and I activly urge people not to buy this at retail price, because if we do, lego's just gonna keep pumping that price up. I have hopes it'll fail, because when a parent sees it on shelves next to the 2023 501st pack, I can't see them deciding orange helmets are worth almost 50% more than blue ones for an otherwise functionally the same set. Yavin. No idea why people dislike this, I love it! The midi Y-wing is nice, the set uses a lot of full bricks and large pieces for the tree trunks, justifying the price (alongside that awesome figure selection we haven't yet seen all of!) and it overall just looks like a solid set.
May 19, 20231 yr So the 332nd speeder seems pretty much the same size as the one we got in 75035 Kashyyyk Troopers. I know inflation is a thing but they're seriously charging nearly double the price? Also I was hoping the 332nd helmet leak we got was just for the standard troopers and we just hadn't seen Vaughn's yet but it seems they are indeed just using the same one on all 4 figures. He's also missing the grey on his torso as was shown in the previous leak. At least we can get some more blue jetpacks I guess. As for the Yavin set, it definitely looks like an upscaled Juniors set to me. At least the minifigures look good but I would've preferred basically any pilot other than Gold Leader since we've had him so many times, ideally it'd be one we haven't got before like Davish Krail. Glad we're finally getting Red Leader, though not sure about the colour they chose for his helmet. Could've gone with a less-bright yellow. Edited May 19, 20231 yr by CallumPears

May 19, 20231 yr Not the best wave, but also not the worst. Yoda's Starfighter does look good, but it also looked good back in 2017 when we got it before; I have that version, so there is nothing drawing me to this one. It is not a bad set, just a weird choice of a remake with nothing new to draw in people who bought the original (e.g. a Jedi Temple Guard, Darth Bane, or even just dual-moulded tan/olive green legs for Yoda). On 5/19/2023 at 3:57 PM, Legofan2001 said: Promobricks is saying that the Swamp Speeder Price has been reduced from 26.99 Euros to 20.99 Euros. Thank the kriffing maker!! Had the price remained at $27, I would have raged! 🤬 The Clones look like we all expected them to (jetpacks aside, which are a nice surprise), and they look good (visor printing for Vaughn was realistically never going to happen, so I am not let down by its absence). The ISP itself is small (it needs to be one stud wider on each side and one stud longer overall), but it looks better than the last one that we got; I would have preferred it to be dark red over the blue that we are getting, but the parts in-question are readily available and there are no stickers, so modding is just a matter of digging through our spare parts bins. I also like the use of those flat quarter-dome parts, which look better and more accurate than any prior design.
May 19, 20231 yr I don’t know why but I thought the Yavin set was going to be like $100. It’s crazy that this is $160. Sometimes I forget just how much the Star Wars brand costs. I’ll bricklink Celebration Luke asap though, I always thought the yellow jacket was the coolest look he had and I was bummed as a kid that the lego one had the medal permanently printed. Hyped for that. As for the swamp speeder, wow. Captain Vaughn hardly stands out at all. It sucks lego continues to use the visors and antennas of old. They could easily come out with a new pack similar to Ninjago and just include a bunch of different styles. Include some visors with antennas etc. Obviously the worst part is that the visor lacks the printing detail.

May 19, 20231 yr So we seen all the August wave for Star wars now? My opinions haven't really changed, other than the 332nd pack looks like the battle packs of old, it's UK price better not too much more than the 501st specialists set. And the Yavin set's Y-wing is nicer than expected. I wish they do more sets at a smaller but still fig compatible scale. But the Yavin set still remains something I kinda want but probably won't get cause there are more things coming that I want more. On 5/18/2023 at 12:33 PM, Mr. Cube said: I don't agree with that - Vader's tile can be used as a computer in both Classic Space and SW MOCs. But Boba's tile with mandalorian armor print can be used...hmmm...for some another Boba/Mandalorian mech or exoskeleton? Look at you telling me I'm wrong... And actually now I think about it, you make a good point, you are absolutely right and I was wrong.
May 19, 20231 yr Yavin is interesting - Not bad by any means, but not as spectacular as I was hoping that it would be. The top portion of the temple looks better than the bottom since it has more texture, but I will need to see it from other angles before I make a final determination. The Minifigs are honestly mid; Celebration Luke and Leia are great to get (the latter especially, since Luke wears his yellow jacket often in post-ANH comics), but half of the Minifigs being the core six (none of whom have dual-moulding or arm printing!), and two of the others being fairly cheap reuses, make me feel like I could cobble this together on BrickLink. Helmets for Red Leader and Gold Leader are good, as well as a new torso for the Rebel ground crew, but why do the pilots not have the dual-moulded legs from the UCS X-wing?? Also, we should have gotten a white visor for the crewman's helmet, since there is an ugly notch without one. At least one more Fleet Trooper and ground crewman should have been included, and we should have gotten a control centre technician and an Honor Guard (a forgivable omission only if we get a Rebel Battle Pack in 1HY 2024 with 2x Fleet Troopers, 1x Technician, and 1x Honor Guard). The midi Y-wing is actually not bad, but the less said about that "tree", the better! 😬 Remind me how much this will be?

I must be looking at different pictures than the people commending about the quality of the figs lol. Yep. Fingers crossed Dutch has the UCS helmet print, that's a $55+ part right now. Still a bit disappointed that the figure list is short compared to the first leaks - lost a pilot and two rebels. Would have been a great opportunity for another Blue Squadron pilot or an updated Biggs print on the normal helmet, and an honor guard.

May 19, 20231 yr I just realized lego gave the Fleet Trooper the spear 😐 it’s UCS Gunship Clone Commander all over again 😐 lego is really saying that the Fleet Trooper doubles as an Honor Guard 😐

May 19, 20231 yr Yavin is way too juniors-y for me, I need something more on par with the Cantina’s quality, and I wouldn’t mind Yavin getting a true MBS treatment in the future. Haven’t seen the interior yet of course, but the facade looks blander than the exterior of Vader’s Castle which was around the same piece count. A set to get just for the figs and spare parts, although I do think the mini y-wing is cute. 332nd battle pack will be a good army builder. The lack of printing on Vaughn’s visor is disappointing, the figure bears little resemblance to the source. Yoda’s starfighter looks about as good as it should, but not radically better than the last rendition.

The only thing that would look better/more accurate than the official version is a custom, IMO.

May 19, 20231 yr The 332nd bp is the only one of these I'm going to eventually get but even then I can't believe it's $25. That Swamp Speeder is small and not very good and theres a tiny turret thing made of like 4 pieces. How can they justify charging that much for this!? Yoda’s Starfighter has improved shaping around the cockpit but isn't different enough for me to consider it since I have the last one. If they included an additional figure or something maybe I would have considered it. Yavin 4 just looks bad and for $160? Yeah, absolutely not.
