I mean we saw all the sets they had lined up for Bad Batch season 2... So I'm not expecting anything for Andor season 2 at all.

I mean they did have the Justifier, which was a post-season 1 set at least, even if the set released 5 months before season 2 did. So one set for Andor based on the first season isn’t a crazy idea, especially for such a unique ship that’s begging to be a Lego set.

I haven't been in this forum in ages I feel like I'm visiting another country when I come here. Just wanted to drop by and say I have mixed feelings on no exclusive May the 4th figure this year. I LOVED Aunt Beru last year. Adored her inclusion. I was really hoping to get something this year. Sure Darth Raven and the Episode 1 droids from a decade ago were really expensive on the aftermarket and a source of frustration for those who missed out but does that really mean we should get no more exclusive May 4th figures? I guess it's just funny they release these great figures when I can't buy them and when I'm avidly collecting excited for an exclusive to splurge on they don't release one. But hey at least I didn't shell $150 on Star Wars this month (maybe next month lol)

I agree about the figs. I don’t even care if the figures are exclusive, I just want figure based promos. The Lars Homestead Kitchen set was really wonderful.

Always glad we can drag someone back into the forum! :yoda: I too saved money because Lego didn't have an enticing enough promo to get me to spend $150. I spent enough to get the holo-coin, but didn't feel the need to spend more.

That kinda adds to my point, if bad batch got the the justifier last summer, then Andor's window for another season one set is passing by without any equivalent.

And let's be honest Bad batch is much likely to sell sets to the target audience than Andor. ( And whilst I did enjoy Andor I'd personally rather bad batch sets ( give me clone commandos!) partly because Andor is very much in am established era so we at very least have stormtroopers, tie fighters and lambdas etc that work for Andor but not so much for the early empire period of TBB no tk troopers or Nu class shuttles etc.

But I'll tell you there's a prominent star wars character who has been in both show and one of my tied favourite SW movies, and rebels and clone wars and even Jedi fallen order, and he has never had a minifig... I'm of course talking about Saw Gerrera.

jedi bricks( same person who said that thrawn star destroyer is coming this year) said that he will have shock troopers images in 3 weeks

or all gunship images. Not only shock troopers

Person who made up nonsense makes up more nonsense? wow that's crazy

Anyway, look at the 2014 Shock Trooper, look at the 2022 187th Clone Trooper. Fill in the blanks.

Hhalycron means the design of the helmet closely resembles the Shock Trooper design. Yes, there may be differences in the actual Lego helmets due to the helmet holes but, still, 187th is the closest we can get going off of official products & we can’t fully forecast the impact they’ll have on the design.

I’m really looking forward to the Shock Troopers because they’ll be the first Clones that undeniably benefit from having cheek printing. Lots of us prefer the 2014 helmets because it leaves the shadow in that gap to the imagination whereas the newer ones unnecessarily color them in—but Shock Troopers have, by design, red cheeks. It should be a nice upgrade from Lego’s animated version.

Just came to me, how cool would it be if Ahsoka's T-6 the figure (Ahsoka) came with a hood mold special to her? I think that'd be so cool

I think it’s very possible that we get this whenever we get a minifigure of “Ahsoka the White”.

Speaking of Andor, I’m curious to see how Lego will handle set distribution for the new Star Wars series next year: Skeleton Crew (which is technically slated to start airing before the end of this year but it wouldn’t get any Lego sets until next year anyway), The Acolyte and Andor Season 2. The former two are completely new series with new characters, while the latter is a continuation of an existing series but also a very adult-oriented one that Lego hasn’t done much for thus far. I can definitely see us getting The Fondor to tie-in with Andor, but I’m curious to see how Lego will go about representing those other series. There’s also The Bad Batch Season 3, which I’m hoping they don’t skip like Season 2 (even if I’m not a huge fan of the show). I’m also curious to see if they do anything for Jedi Survivor but I’m not holding my breath. There’s also still some gaps for Mando Season 3 and Ahsoka that I’m sure Lego will fill next year as well.

You’ll get mostly OT sets and you’ll like them!

I kid,( though there’s plenty from the OT I’d still like to see  ( and a regular stormtrooper battle pack tops the list))

We can double up and make a $20 set of the speeder from andor with 2 stormtroopers and 2 army troopers.

I assume we'll only get 1-2 sets each for Andor S2, Acolyte, and Skeleton crew, and if one ends up being a mando-style breakout, we'll get more. BB S3 will be lucky to get a single set, given that we didn't get any for S2. We REALLY need a mantis, but like you, I'm not holding my breath.

I mean not really. The Justifier released a year and 4 months after Season 1 first aired, which would be January 2024 if applied to Andor. Plus Season 2 won’t air until Fall 2024 (or potentially later because of the writer’s strike) so they could delay the set’s release until August 1st to more closely coincide with its Season 2.

I do agree that Andor isn’t as conducive to Lego sets as other shows, although I feel like the Fondor is such a perfect Star Wars ship to be made into a set that they’d be crazy not to.

A single set in the mid-size range should be enough to cover the gaps for Mando S3 (namely Gideon, the Beskar troopers, Praetorian Guards, and perhaps Grogu with his IG-mech). I can 100% see more sets in the pipeline for Ahsoka given what characters we know are going to be appearing from the trailer alone, but frankly the verbal descriptions of the Ahsoka sets already sound leagues better than the half-baked Mando S3 sets.

However saying that, I know Promobricks reported a much more interesting minifigure lineup for the large unknown Ahsoka set (with Baylan, Shin, and Morgan), but given that they’ve been working with some inaccurate information for Harry Potter and Marvel this year, part of me wonders if this too won’t be correct.

Seeing the Mantis or at least some sort of Jedi Survivor set next year seems fairly likely IMO - I just think Lego couldn’t cover it this year due to lack of set slots. As much as years like this do have a fair few duds, it’s clear Lego are listening to what’s in demand (even if their execution isn’t always perfect).

I don't think we can realistically expect a playscale Mantis simply because it cannot be made swooshable. The wing aspect ratio is too high and the model is assymetrical, making it harder to meet Lego ever stricter build rules. Fondor on the other hand...

The Twilight has similar proportions and they didn't have a problem with that. Building rules may have been a little looser in 2008, but the selection of parts available was also much smaller--something like the large cog pieces used for the UCS AT-AT could control the rotation of the Mantis's wing and keep it sturdy enough to be played with. I agree with you that a playscale Mantis seems unlikely (something battlepack-sized or slightly larger would be more plausible, like they did for BF2), but I don't think it's because of the build itself, just LEGO seeming loath to take risks on video game sets.

I completely agree with you but I do think it's probably important to remember how long ago 2008 was when looking at older sets. Of course we can still reference the past for any number of reasons, but Lego has changed so much as a brand in the last fifteen years that even just making a comparison between a set from then and now is likely not super meaningful (as you mentioned, building techniques and parts are very different now).

Funny you mention the Twilight, it was chunky and pretty disproportionate in order to be sturdy, and the wing wasn't as thin and long. Even with a large imperial cog, the weight unbalance would be hard to control. The play feature on the V-19 required dampers and at least that set was laterally symmetrical. It's just difficult to build a ship like this without repulsorlift tech. The video game risk is definitely a factor too. Unless we see the Mantis on screen sooner than we thought.

I don't mean to drag us even further off topic, but I will say I believe the mantis is 100% viable as a set:

(The wing is a little short here, but nothing crazy, and it could be lengthened without disrupting the mechanism too much.

Never tell me the odds! :head_back: Best I'm hoping for personally is a micro-fighter with Cal, that would make me very happy.

JB Spielwaren posted a blurred Ahsoka story! It looks like a really cool Ahsoka figure is coming....maybe some reveals?? No idea when tho

While it could be that, JB Spielwaren has also played funny with teasing things before, like something that turned out to just be a custom Minifigure. The Ahsoka in that image looks more like poster art than an actual Minifigure, especially because it's using what looks like a new head piece.

I hope it is real and that we do get a new headpiece, but I'm not getting overly excited from just that tease.

As @Clone OPatra points out, JBS have done that before. Remember the Rancor Keeper last year? Also, as a fairly well-known toy shop, I doubt they’d reveal new sets without explicit permission from TLG, and I think it’s too early for Ahsoka reveals already

Ooooh I see. Ok, I did not know that, thx for the info!
