Displayedaction Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 That red on the t6 looks really good wouldn’t be mad if that was also the gunship color hopefully they reveal that soon Quote
CF Mitch Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Quick question: these sets are supposed to be released September 1st, yes? Regards, Mitch Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 I just realised that Baylan has a new faceprint! Before, I thought it was the same as Admiral Ematt’s The expression and the beard are nearly identical, but the eyebrows differ and Baylan has fewer wrinkles Quote

I thought so too, at first, but glad to hear that's not the case. Good for you to spot it! Regards, Mitch Quote

They need some selling points for those too, after all Plus, the three sets we have are already filled to the brim with desirable minifigs, already adding Ezra and Thrawn would've been complete overkill Quote

(we can be greedy, right?) However, I think in this case Lego might actually be waiting to see how the characters develop in the series before releasing a set including them. It could be that there is some spoilery scene that would make a great set and include both of them. What I think we can safely say is that Lego probably is already working on that set (if it is actually coming), and if so, it is not based on concept art but on actual film. Quote
Old Master Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 I want Super Moff Gideon set before Ezra and Thrawn. Quote

Seriously though, I've lost faith in the winter waves. As much as I want an Imperial commando BP, a set with Gideon set, and a Thrawn + Ezra set, there's virtually no chance they're all happening next winter The BP is our best bet, the rest will most likely be OT remakes Quote

Was just about to say this! We've had two Tennant figures so far... let's hope the 3rd is the Doctor. I really like both of those sets. The shuttle is a little on the small side - I think the previous version was able to accommodate 2(?) figures. Quote

Thrawn is geared up as the main antagonist, I think he will most definitely play a huge role. Nevertheless, this is off topic. 1 hour ago, BrickBob Studpants said: Seriously though, I've lost faith in the winter waves. They obviously plan for him to be the main antagonist in the upcoming Filoni movie, so they probably don't want to give him too much screentime yet. As long as he makes his presence felt and we get a cool minifig out of it, I'll be satisfied 2 minutes ago, Old Master said: Who would've thought we'd get a Ghost, UCS Venator, and new Gunship all at once? Just remembering how weak this past was... TIE Bomber was the only thing of remote coolness. Anways... thoughts on these 2 new sets: Could not care less about the one with the two ships. Figs are cool, but I will have to see how these characters actually play out in the show. T-6 is absolutely phenomenal. As I mentioned, Sabine lacks from arm prints, but is still good. The Ahsoka figure is perfect. The new inquisitor is SO HEAT. Love the knight vibe the armor gives off and the prints are great. Shame it's $80, but what the heck, this hobby is expensive. Quote
Fenghuang0296 Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 The new sets look . . interesting. I do want the T6, but the other two are easy passes. (Chewbacca . . it it’s articulated, it might possibly see some use in my collection if I use it as a starting point to create a Kaiju for my giant robots to fight. But it looks like it’s just a sculpture, in which case easy pass.) Off topic, but does anyone here have both Major Vonreg’s TIE from a few years ago, and the current TIE Interceptor VS Fang Fighter set? I got Vonreg’s a while ago because I wanted to build an Imperial fleet, and have been looking forward to complimenting it with another Interceptor or two. (Am annoyed and disappointed by the fact that it’s not a set on its own . .) How do they look together? Would they look good side by side, in a formation? (There’s something very satisfying about lining up four or five ships together, synchronised.) Quote
Hhalcyon Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 I'm calling the 2024 Winter Wave now, I think we're losing the Hoth AT-ST, The Boba Fett Starfighter and the Tie Fighter at the end of 2023. I think it'd be wise to assume they will continue to keep AT-STs, Slave Is and Tie Fighters on shelves and just rerelease them again in 2024. Different versions sure. But those again I'd guess. Maybe a regular AT-ST with Endor Han, a Slave I with the Mech Boba Fett and just another generic tie fighter. Though i'd wouldn't be surpised if Lego just didn't because we already have the Tie Bomber and Interceptor on shelves. Note to moderators: This is not wishlisting, because this sounds awful to me lmao. Quote

Separately, really loving the UK prices on these sets! £64.99 and £94.99 respectfully is more than fair relative to previous experience, including what is on the shelves currently. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 As George Lucas' Padawan, Dave definitely knows how to deliver merchandise-worthy material. Though I'll likely only get the T-6, I love to see these Ahsoka sets. They're so colourful, look like good LEGO designs, don't skimp on the figures in quantity or quality (besides Sabine's arms). We even get four new figure moulds and one is a generic hairpiece! I wish Star Wars could always deliver waves with this level of excitement. Quote
Alex_South Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Price is always a thing, but at this point the horse has become petrolium. I love how colorful all the Ahsoka sets are, and I like the star-fighter duo more than the mando one from earlier this year but I am still gonna pass on it. Kinda bummed about the lack of orange sabers, and no capes or shoulder pauldrons for the baddies. I don't like displaying star-fighters and transports/shuttles at the same time since they tend to be so out of scale with one another so I am selling off my current sets (x-wing and N-1) to make room for the Ghost and the T-6, they will fit together on my shelf nicely. I am glad that they appear to scale well with one another, and the mini-figures are great, both builds also seem really good for star wars, I think the colors help, and they nailed the look of both ships. Fingers crossed the show is good. Quote
