Balrogofmorgoth Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 Fairly decent list for 1HY 2024. I’m most looking forward to Grogu’s Escape and the clone vs droids battle pack (please be clones from established canon this time). If the Podracer diorama has Shmi or 3PO I’m getting it no matter what. But it’s doubtful there will be figures since it seems more likely to be a microscale type build like the trench run. Maybe interested in the droideka, it sounds intriguing at the very least. I’m sure I’ll want the Skeleton Crew ship. Really no interest in the midi scale stuff Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 A set based on a flashback… Never thought we’d see that I wonder if they’ll reuse the Shocktrooper from the upcoming Gunship Quote
Hhalcyon Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 2024 is the 25th Anniversary of Lego Star Wars right? I wonder if the Super Battlepack might be a 25th Anniversary branded set that works as like a double updated pack of the 2007 (yes im aware that's not 25 years ago, nor were the 20th anniversary branded storm trooper battlepack updates 20 years after their OG version) battlepack with 2x P2s, 1x 327th, 1x Coruscant Guard, 4 Battledroids and 2 Super Battledroids. Presumably with a lil turret, barc speeder, staps and the mini PAC build. Could they fit all that into 215 pieces though that's the thing. That is ASSUMING that the apparent "up to 10 minifigures" is true. Pure DISGUSTING speculation but I do think that'd be really cool if they did that. Also presumably for $30 the Grogu's escape isn't JUST gonna be kelleren beq and grogu on a speeder bike right? We might see more shock troopers in that set lol. Personally i'm not against lego putting the same clones in multiple sets, just makes it easier to get a good amount of them. Quote
Old Master Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 I wish midi scale included atleast one fig, that's where the Executor loses me now. Hope they heard the feedback and give 1-2 figs going forward, even though I know that's unlikely. Antilles and Leia for Tantive / Han and Chewie for Falcon. Would elevate those sets tenfold. I am sure we will get Antilles in that Tantive diorama tho... Quote

Alternatively, if LEGO did give them version names, the descriptor would likely be at the beginning rather than the end (e.g. “Life Day Rey”, not “Rey Life Day”). Tell you what if the set box says Finn Skywalker (or any other surname) I will change my signature to include '@Classic_Spaceman is the best'. but only if in return you put '@Agentkallus is the best.' in your signature if it turns out to say Fin 'Sweater' (or any another version/outfit name). But as a definite set list from promobricks ( who are a proven source ) is out, I'm glad we are getting a decent January wave for once ( I mean I did initially read it as all January sets so that would of been a real come back but no it's January to May). 18 minutes ago, Hhalcyon said: 2024 is the 25th Anniversary of Lego Star Wars right? That's a pretty reasonable idea actually and it lines up pretty well, I'd like to see it too. Though I'm certainly on the B1s (and to a lesser extent B2s ) should not be counted as minifigs train. ArrowBricks Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 2024 sounds quite interesting, fingers crossed the Clone legion is exciting! Get a feeling we might be getting shiny Phase II Clones somewhere…surely? That Droideka sounds super interesting, too! No helmets is a shame! Genuinely surprised at the lack of Mando S3/Ahsoka sets. Quote
Legoman123 Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 Surprised we are getting a scene based from Order 66, it gives me hope for a temple. It’d be cool to get the unique robe of Beq and maybe some movie accurate 501st troopers. Given it’s 25 years of Lego SW I hope we get a few more sets than usual and maybe an extra UCS/D2C. For me I’d love to see the prequels get some love at some point Naboo Royal Starship, Jango’s Slave 1, Theed Palace, MTT, Invisible Hand, Jedi Temple. I hope we see at least 1 of them. Quote

Ahsoka I can sort of understand, as it also took until the following summer to get more Mando S2 sets. Mando S3 however, there is no good excuse why Grogu’s Escape is the only one at the moment, and a May release at that Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 That's a pretty good list imo. The mid-scaled ships are a great idea, and I prefer them to the helmets. (It's annoying that those are ending next year, and they still haven't done Grievous, Kylo Ren, or even a Battle Droid.) The dioramas are interesting choices, I like that they're finally expanding beyond the OG trilogy (although the Podracer one will definitely be microscale). It's a weird choice to make such an expensive set on a new series. The Mandalorian set is also a weird choice. Quote

McMurder_them_softly Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 Well that is quite interesting. I like most of this. Great to see more Midi-scale. Grogu escape, VS battlepack, and some TPM representation! Quote
Old Master Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 (edited) Some headscratchers in terms of release dates on this wave... why wait until May for a $30 Mando S3 set? Hoping some Ahsoka sets make it into the 5 unknown ones. Edited July 31, 2023 by Old Master Quote

Balrogofmorgoth Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 I’m surprised we didn’t get any other Kenobi or BoBF sets after the initial releases. A couple from each with some missing key characters would have been great Quote
Agent Kallus Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 Do we know if the Grogu escape is a BARC Speeder or a bit of jedi temple corridor? Quote

I don't think anything definitive is known, but based on the price my guess is a BARC speeder/sidecar/pram as the build, with a clone or two thrown in to justify $30. Quote

They also write the "super battle pack" for 29,99€ has 215 parts and up to 10 figures, amongst them super battle droids. The clone legion is unknown for now. Both of these sound excellent! Grogu’s Escape is definitely going to include at least one Clone to provide conflict; my guess is 501st over Coruscant Guard, just because I cannot see LEGO putting Shock Troopers into a pseudo-battle pack when the gunship will have only just been released a few months prior. The “super battle pack” is described as being similar to the original 501st one, so I am not expecting more than four true Minifigures - Maybe four Clones, two B2s, and four B1s to make the “up to ten Minifigs”? 8 minutes ago, Agent Kallus said: Do we know if the Grogu escape is a BARC Speeder or a bit of jedi temple corridor? We are not going to get Clones in a different style from what we have been getting since 2020. The most “movie accurate” that they could be is to have scuff marks on their armour (like the 212th in the AT-TE), but even that seems far less likely than just repeats of the battle pack figures. CF Mitch Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 Ooh, lot's of news, all of the sudden! I'm most excited about the clone trooper versus battle droids battle pack. Hopefully it's a new 'type' of clone trooper. The new super battle droid sounds intriguing as well Presumably most sets are over-priced, but definitely feels that way for Grogu Escape. It's probably only a speeder, and for thirty bucks... The Skeleton Crew ship sounds fascinating too. Hope to learn more, soon. Regards, Mitch Quote
Classic_Spaceman Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 The wave overall feels lacklustre from a playscale standpoint (one “super battle pack”, one pseudo-battle pack, and the ship from Skeleton Crew), though excellent for midi-scale and diorama collectors; hopefully we will get more normal sets from the five unknowns (maybe an Ahsoka spoiler set, and hopefully 1-2 TBB sets). 4 minutes ago, CF Mitch said: Hopefully it's a new 'type' of clone trooper. Not the most overpriced Mando set, though - Even if it only has Beq, Grogu, and one 501st Trooper, it would still be a better set than Trouble on Tatooine due to the sidecar BARC. Quote
