All 38 bar pieces look fine Honestly I’ve never had an issue with any of my UCS sets falling apart. That said, I’m really anal about how carefully I move them so maybe I’ve just been careful enough and gotten lucky nothing happened. I get so scared moving the Falcon, AT-AT, and Star Destroyer. I hope the Venator is stable Quote

Obi-wan is the only character who feels like he's popped up a fair amount in that variation (Cuz he has a starship). Even Dooku, the main antagonist has only appeared twice! I obviously only counting their episode II looks. I agree, it's a shame we haven't had more instances of AotC characters. Even most Phantom Menace sets have been given a few different remakes. I think LEGO has prioritized the broader "Clone Wars" subtheme over specific movie scenes for that time period of the canon, which I can understand, but so few figs of Dooku/Jango/Padme/Anakin from the movie itself is a bummer of an omission in my books. The mechs are intended to be a replacement attempt for them. If they sell poorly enough, maybe we'll see microfighters in 2HY 2024/1HY 2025 instead of a second mech wave. Hopefully not at $16 though, that's absurd. Quote

I think at this point there's not really any hope of them bringing the price down; I reckon the N-1 micro and mechs being $16 has pretty well set the new standard going forward. Quote
PsychoBuilder Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Hey, I don't know if this is quite the right thread for this (in which case I'll move it, but it seemed relevant given recent and upcoming sets), but has anyone else seen things about people scalping kamas and waistcape parts and massively overcharging for them? I just saw one, and I was wondering if this is a big thing. Quote

There's a whole side of Instagram that's obsessed with "investing" in LEGO, which often consists of getting a bunch of people to buy up the entire supply of a desirable but still somewhat cheap minifigure on BL then re-list it at a higher price to artificially inflate the going rate. This is arguably even dumber, since one part isn't nearly as scarce as an entire minifigure in good condition. Quote

I'd say it is a big thing for collectors, and the scalping of those items will be a more common theme that spills over if more clones after Rex and Fox come out with printed waist capes and pauldrons. More than the scalping issue which is the case for a lot of things in the Lego space, I don't see why clones all of a sudden don't have kamas as they used to come with troops that had them, for example, the arc trooper from 2012. I genuinely don't understand how in a $700 set one of the two figs can't have a small piece of cloth that is show accurate never mind the dam helmet hole in the right place. I know it's seen as a petty gripe by a lot of people but for the amount of money Lego is charging for the Venator combined with the fact they had it right in 2012 I feel like it's a justified take. The Falcon lost many plates on the underside (which are a real pain to reattach), the SD was downed by me forgetting to transport it the correct way (i.e., removing the bridge and sections below to gain access to the Technic skeleton inside, serving as a handle), and now the AT-AT had an …accident. Hope the Venator is more like the Razor Crest, but I get strong SD 2.0 vibes from it, unsurprisingly Quote

Honestly considering how much Lego wants to stick to printed kamas and MOST DEFINITELY heard us complaining about it, AND that they make capes for other lines AAAAAAND that they still make fabric capes for star wars characters like vader. It leads me to one real conclusion. The lego designers have bad taste, and genuinely just printed kamas looks better. Anyway, I'll always recommend third party companies for kamas and pauldrons. They're much much cheaper than dealing with the bricklink hive of worm eating, diseased goblins who think an official kama is worth like $7. They're generally better quality than the lego ones anyway. Quote
Balrogofmorgoth Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 I actually really don’t mind all the studs on the ISD. I mean, it is lego. I kinda want it to look like lego Quote

The kamas is an issue to me, as the prints look so much worse and it's an example of something we had that was taken away, but I still don't get the helmet holes gripe, much less as it being worse than the lack of a kama. The holes are higher up to allow for the visors and kamas to fit on p2 troopers, and the customization is more than worth the little holes IMO. As opposed to the kamas being printed, which not only looks worse but discourages customization... 3 hours ago, ArrowBricks said: When will the 2024 thread get created? Displayedaction Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 HellotheRex has review of the gunship and I gotta say I still prefer the 2014 Shock helmets the red printing just looks better/more crisp.Gunship looks good from all angles imo only gripe is that it feels kind of empty without a command center/speeder to put in it. ArrowBricks Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 I think the T6 Shuttle aesthetically is great. The figures are also strong. (can’t decide if I like the Droid as a figure…) The problem is, it feels lacking in multiple areas: play features, small cockpit, underside of wings. Couple that with the price, and I’m unsatisfied. Good one to get on discount that’s for sure. There is also a review of the new Gunship, and I think it looks pretty decent. (check HelloThereRex YouTube) Again, it has one too many issues for my liking: Fox epitomises Lego laziness, the stud shooters are off putting (admittedly easy to fix), and the Gunship is lacking play features compared to its predecessors. I can’t understand why we don’t have a small side-build that fits into either the compartments at the front or at the back of the Gunship. Admittedly, I’ve gotten over my Pilot issue with the set, but I do think it should have had an extra Shock Trooper. I’ve seen other reviews of the E-Wing set and I think I’m happy with it. Just The Ghost to go…fingers crossed. 7 minutes ago, Displayedaction said: HellotheRex has review of the gunship and I gotta say I still prefer the 2014 Shock helmets the red printing just looks better/more crisp.Gunship looks good from all angles imo only gripe is that it feels kind of empty without a command center/speeder to put in it.
