Seeing the leaks I wonder when LEGO would release another Y-Wing with the current scale X-Wing

This topic is for concrete information about 2024 sets, not speculation or wishlisting (there are other threads for that).

Palnet has reiterated that plain phase 2’s are assured.

He has again today (I am on the Discord now). I asked him whether there are any variants or other units present, but have not heard back yet. I also asked about the builds, but he did not have any information.
The question is whether his source is looking at the preliminary or final image; @Renown said that P2 Shinies were in the prelim, and they also seem to have seen the final image (though they have not commented on the Clones in the final set yet), so Palnet’s information could end up not being entirely accurate.

Could you give this Discord server please

I cannot, as it deals with leaks of the LEGO variety. I can say that it was started by the mods of a certain subreddit, and that it shows up as the first Google result.

Update: User itsjustajoe said that the Clones are “mostly Shinies”, and that he has heard that the set will have a 3/1 breakdown (I.E. three regular P2 Shinies, and one other Clone (Gunner?)). He also said that he does not think that all six droids included are “Minifigure droids” - That is, that at least one is going to be brickbuilt. Either a Dwarf Spider Droid or a Crab Droid would fit the size.
I am not sure of his reliability, so obviously take this information with the appropriate amount of salt.

He seems to have the utmost confidence about his info, gives me the impression that it might be more than just prelim images.

I think itsjustajoe’s comments are more of a wild card. He hasn’t specified more info, likely because he doesn’t have it (yet). He must’ve just been told at least 1 clone will be different. His insider source is different from the rest though, I believe he clarified this a while back on Reddit.

also it’s cool to see you on Discord!

I know a lot of influencers in the hobby have run with the narative that lego never listens to fans, but amongst unpopular cost-cutting measures lego takes, they absolutely do listen to our feedback. I think after the comments on the AT-TE not getting a crab droid there is a higher than usual chance we get one in this new BP set. If the set has a Dwarf Spider droid it may be the shortest amount of time between its appearances in sets. I suppose a droikeka is another possibility as many have suspected.

New Update: Discord user itsjustajoe just confirmed that 1.) he is getting his information from an anonymous source (who he claims is reliable), 2.) that he was just guessing about the inclusion of brickbuilt droid models (as he does not personally believe that the set will include 10 Minifigs), and 3.) that he does not have any information about the builds in the set.
Ugh. 😠

Shinies, huh? Not the most exciting option out there, but at least they’re not 501st, so I’ll take it

I’m more excited to hear details about the Skeleton Crew set though (unless it’s been delayed, since we still have no idea when the show itself will actually air). The ship looked interesting in the concept art and there could be some intriguing minifigs in the mix! Also looking forward to our first Jude Law minifig :sweet:

So two different sources Palnet and itsjustajoe have the same informantion about shinies?

Palnet has not stated his source, and neither have (or can, in itsjustajoe’s case) clarified if they are looking at the preliminary or final images of the set. Remember that @Renown (who is absolutely legit) said that the prelim images have P2 Shinies, but that the final set may have a different unit. If both Discord sources are looking at the prelims, then we are no closer to knowing the unit in the final set than we were before.

I would not call a B1 ( or a B2 for that matter but they are made of more specialised parts) a minifig anyway, so 4 minifigs of Clones isn't 10 minifigs anyhow.

Also I don't know why people want a gunner, I think that would be a waste.

It's a good remark

Both LEGO and BrickLink consider Battle Droids to be Minifigs, which is where the “10 Minifigs” thing is coming from; four Clones and six Droids is reasonable for a $30 super battle pack.

The Gunner is a useful and underrepresented role, he can fit into any unit, and he is only available in one $140 set!

BrickLink counts those as Minifigs, but LEGO does not (note who appears in the Minifig lineups on boxes).

Palnet stated earlier today that he does not know anything about the builds in the set, so he must be relying on someone else as his source (who could be looking at the prelims). As of right now, I believe that @Renown is the only person who has actually seen the final images (that is, the only leaker to have seen them).

Going back to the topic of Kamas, I presume it's for the same reason at this point. While you can argue that a kid can take them off to sit down figs, if LEGO did kamas for 8 years and is now not anymore, there must be a reason, and I'm not inclined to definitively say it's just laziness. LEGO has years of data leading them to retire kamas, and I don't think we have a full picture as to why they removed them. And the couple sets in other themes that have them don't have the figs in a position where they are sitting down, which is likely why they get the cloth parts.

As much as I would love Rex to have one, if anything, he's consistent with the other clones. If he got one and they didn't, people would complain just as much as they do now, but instead saying that "a set had one, so all of them need to" instead of no sets having them and all sets needing to...

Bro, the set is $700 so IMO the set, figs, display everything should come decked out with every cool accessory and feature it needs for that price tag alone. The argument is that "people will complain cause one set has it and others don't go out the window when they compare a $140 set to a $700 set. It's like comparing Yoda's hut diorama to the Obi-Wan's hut playset. I'm not complaining that the diomra has a black base and a printed tile cause I know its a more expensive adult set that's not aimed for the same 6-year-old consumer as the Obi-Wan hut. The same rules apply for UCS and the little things they get with their higher price, kamas should be one of those things. Also as you said people will still complain that Lego is lazy and isn't doing it for anyone so for that reason I feel like they should for a UCS set.

On another note, when I was kid I had a clone that had a kama and I had the common sense to remove it or at least flip it up so it didn't get in the way of "play".Also with fabric, this play conversation goes out the window cause its be so easy to flip up and not damage it. Unless Lego's data and research is that kids are dumber nowadays than they were 8-10 years ago the reason they removed them almost has to be cutting costs which I think is just shitty.

Trust me, you can tell who’s waffling and pretending to know, and who actually knows.

If you have access to the picture of the set, you have the picture. No speculation about it.

Best to wait until someone actually cuts the BS. Because, the set is very clear cut. Clear.

Well, Renown has access to the pictures, but can not identify the clones (so far)

So you have seen the final images of the set? Also, are you saying that the Minifigs are the same in both prelim and final images?

@Renown did not say that they could not identify the Clones - Just that the preliminary images had P2 Shinies; coupled with the fact that they (unlike anyone else) were actually able to provide information about the builds, I believe that they are just withholding/drip-feeding information (rather than bullshitting).

Recap of the information provided by @Renown

What we know about the Clones vs. Droids “super battle pack”, courtesy of @Renown
 - Clone unit is unknown via the prelim image.
 - Both Republic and CIS get more than one build.
 - Most of the builds cannot fly (I.E. are ground vehicles, stationary turrets, terrain, etc).
 - The CIS builds are Canon and more substantial than the Republic builds.
 - The set does not include an ARC-170 in any form, nor anything that looks like an ARC-170!
 - The set includes B2 battle droids and up to ten Minifigs (Clones and Droids), though the exact breakdown of the droids has yet to be stated as far as I am aware (this info via Promobricks).
