One of the sets annoyed me, a lot.

Spoiler

Well yeah, the T-6 is SOOOOOOO underwhelming itself after that episode, but the figures are so darn good.

I am a minifigure collector first and foremost.

Happy with all the figures? Brown?

It's roughly 30% longer and wider than the Falcon according to Wookiepedia, but double the height. Even if Lego were to shrink it down to the same width and height (or even a bit smaller), the taller bulkier hull shape would still require more pieces and therefore a higher price. Especially if they give it a full interior which many of us would now expect after the interiors they put in the AT-AT and Razor Crest. I'm guessing 10k pieces minimum, and probably over 1k in € and USD. As nice as the Ghost is, I just don't see Lego making a set that big and expensive. Maybe if they eventually make a 3rd UCS Falcon with a full interior, but even that I'm not sure about as the 2017 one is still available now in 2023.

I don’t think anyone should expect a full interior for a set that big, especially considering the Falcon and the ISD. It needs structural integrity.

Whilst it do think Sabine's minifig should be a bit brighter and more colourful, I think printed arms could go a long way to fix that, maybe she'll get them eventually. Din Djarin did.

I'm sure someone will make replacement arms for her at some point.

But other than that, I think the rest of the figs are great given what they did.

I'm sure firestar will, but I wasn't even thinking of that, I'm pretty sure TLG will do it themselves eventually.

Just came home from the supermarket and while i was waiting at the checkout queue i had time to count the LSW magazines and there were still 14 of them with the stormtroopers. Seems nobody is buying them in my village.

Probably more than that. It's not that much longer, but with the extra width and bulk the Ghost ends up having three or four times the volume of the Falcon. Rebels never focused on that very much, but they had six people living in there with mostly their own bedrooms, a much larger sitting area, a huge internal cargo bay, etc. BrickVault's minifig-scale Ghost is more than 13,000 pieces. An official set could probably get by with fewer than that, but it'd still be ridiculously huge.

I agree in general, but to be fair, there were only 4 bedrooms (Kanan's, Hera's (not that they needed 2), Sabine's, and Ezra/Zeb's. Chop doesn't get a bedroom). The Falcon ends up having roughly the same amount of interior space if we go off expanded material, remember that it had it's own bed/storage rooms. (Except for that internal cargo bay, I'd say that's where the Ghost has been shown to have more... that said, the falcon's also a freighter, and I don't think we've EVER seen it's cargo bay)

I got 4 of the stormtrooper magazine in Tesco the other day ( they had 5 left but I'd have felt guilty taking them all ), so I can tell you they have this face, which is quite a good one to get... And it is the same one as the Mech.

Are they out? Everywhere I looked still had last months magazine. I never know when exactly the new one comes in

I never know either ( until I see one) but yes they are out, they did have it alongside the old one (AT-TE minibuild) so maybe someday blueocean will see how much better the minifig ones sell, and switch to just minifigs ( like the Ninjago one already does!).

After seeing the two episodes, I really wish one of the sets was different:

Spoiler

The E-wing could be sold without Shin's fighter and with Ep 1 Sabine in her Speeder, for like $60, while the fighter would be sold separately, for $50.

I picked one up from Sainsburys today. However mine came without the head? Just the torso, legs, blaster and helmet. Never had that happen with the magazine gifts before

Oh dear, I did have that once with a Ninjago one missing his torso. I mean I think on the bright side, the head is the least essential part, especially as you can't see it with helmet on.

I'm generally spoken more fond of smaller sets, easier to afford for kids, but I guess it comes down to sets getting sold at different price ranges.  Having 3 sets at 50 - 70 dollars/euro's, isn't ideal compared to a more even distribution of ~ 70 - 100 - 160

The main criticism/concern I have is that they could pump out way more playsets in general.

Gabby's dollhouse, a television series aimed at an audience who's barely old enough for Lego, gets more sets than Ahsoka, shouldn't that be concerning to all of us? Is Star Wars not appealing to kids anymore?

I get Star Wars is many things now, and things like Andor don't get a huge wave (although I think a Fondor with a certain R1 character would have outsold the Justifier ridiculously easily). But Ahsoka is literally the spin-off of an animated series. If any of the live action series up to now should actively target a younger audience, it's this one. But to me, that also requires a sizable presence in the toy aisle.

This. He is just putting together all of the possible rumors (without listing any sources, I might add). The whole "if I put together enough possibilities maybe I'll get one right" kinda thing.

If the Octuptarra droid is correct, that would be quite nice though. Thanks @Renown for clearing that up!

Octuparra would be really nice. The snail tank also first appeared in ROTS I believe. I could also use another one of those. Worried about the piece count if something like that.

However, I think it was an existing guess. Leads me to believe Octuparra

Not so sure there will be a second Sabine anytime soon. I think that it totally depends on number of seasons for Ashoka or if she is present in another show, otherwise I highly doubt they make more than maximum one more set for this season, but most likely none.

You know you have too many sets when you spend the entire evening scanning almost 700 instruction booklets :laugh_hard: The SW ones alone took me hours to get through! Worth it? I think so, as I took the opportunity to also re-sort my instruction booklets, two porgs with one stone

I was planning to make this a bit of a holiday project, lmao

Well, yes - but let's remember said series of which this is spun off is fifteen years old now (even nine if you count her first appearance in Rebels, of which this is basically a direct continuation). With things like Young Jedi Adventures I'm not sure Ahsoka is the main draw for kids any more, especially in an era where nostalgia=€€€.

Not spoiling anything but the first two episodes sold me on the entire line of Ahsoka sets coming out tbh.

Did not like the first two episodes, but I know the show will get MUCH better.

Since when is the number of sets directly indicative of an IP’s popularity? Sure, a niche property won’t get 20 sets at once, but just because a theme gets one set more than another doesn’t mean it’s more in demand

Also, you’re comparing a theme that likely won’t continue to a subtheme that will very likely do. And Ahsoka getting three sets at launch is more than every other show had in their respective first “waves”!

  • Mando S1: 1 set
  • Mando S2: 1 set
  • TboBF: 2 sets
  • Obi-Wan: 2 sets
  • Andor: 1 set
  • Mando S3: 2 sets
  • Ahsoka: 3 sets
  • Skeleton Crew: 1 set
