The way I've been describing it to people is that if Andor's been the Breaking Bad of star wars (In terms of being just an excellent, grounded, deep show), Ahsoka is the Star Wars of Star Wars. It might not be quite as good on a character development or thematic level, but it's the most Star-Warsy the franchise has felt since Mando S1, maybe even the 80s. It's certainly the most continually excited I've been for a star wars project since I was a kid. Completely, completely agree. Ahsoka doesn’t feel like ‘fast food’ content the way some of the more recent D+ shows have been - sure it’s not perfect, but watching it is a joy and you can see there’s a lot of thought put into it. Obviously in a perfect world we’d get something with the quality of Andor with the more fantastical elements that gives Star Wars that magic, but I digress. Can’t wait for payday to nab all three Ahsoka sets and the Gunship, reviews have me sold on all of them. Quote

Too bad they didn’t bring back the yellow 4L bar though The trans-bright green one doesn’t work. It looks yellow to me, albeit with the new frosting that they do to lightsaber blades now. I think the fact it is being shown in front of blue and gray makes it look more green than it should be. Quote

It wouldn't hurt them to make a set or two baser on them. Black. F***ing. One. Lego, you make a Black One set sized around that of the 2021 X-wing, and I will personally buy enough copies to make it worthwhile. Don't even need figs beyond Poe and BB-8. 10 hours ago, Rwbricks said: Not taking into account its general reception, it’s strange to think that LEGO has not made the final duel of the main Star Wars saga despite it having been out for nearly four years. Meaf Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Agreed on the sentiments about how weird the lack of new sequel sets is. I guess they just aren't popular enough to warrant it (especially since there is still plenty of new Star Wars media releasing), but even as someone who only really liked one of the movies, I'd be happy to see some of the other big moments (namely Exegol) covered. At this rate it feels like we might have to wait until the people who saw them as young kids get nostalgic for them, like what happened for the prequels. Quote
Llewop Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Dunno if it is ST being ignored but I’d rather get sets of Disney plus shows. Plus past few years we’ve had helmets, buildabld figures and dioramas that have potentially taken the place of some other sets that could have been on the ST. We all know that clones and OT sell and everything else just takes its turn. Quote
Gontron Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Picked up the Coruscant Guard gunship yesterday, overall its size is a lot better in person and I have to admit its probably my second favorite iteration of the LAAT. I do think it would benefit from being slightly taller in the troop compartment as its very difficult to place more than 3 figures in there at a time. The minifigures are very good with my only complaints being Fox not having a waist cape and the odd torso printing (still a good figure imo). I think if it was 120$ or included a pilot/3rd Shock Trooper I would feel better about the price though I still think the AT-TE is a much better value overall. Quote

I ended up just going to my Lego store for T-6 and Ghost is out for delivery currently from Amazon. Quote

Personally I would much rather have more prequel/Clone Wars sets but they should sprinkle in the occasional ST set. At the very least some small to mid-sized sets. I'm honestly just as surprised as anyone that the final dual of tRoS still hasn't been made, nor has there been a set with Babu Frik yet, though honestly I think given its popularity, we are probably more likely to get an Anzellan microfigure mold from a Mandalorian season 3 set that would then be reprinted as Babu Frik later down the line like they did with BD-1. Old Master Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Finished building the Ghost & Phantom II laaaate last night. A 10/10 set IMO. Well worth $160. Quote
TeufelHund Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Got and built the Tie Interceptor set for Father's Day. The Interceptor looks great but is absolutely massive compared to the Tie Bomber released earlier this year. I don't have the most recent Tie Fighter but it looks like a similar scale to older Tie Fighters than the newest one. Surprisingly for what I initially thought of us a forced extra expense to get the Interceptor, the included Mandalorian Fang Fighter is actually a nice build and the Mandalorian Fleet Commander fig is the MVP figure in the set. Old Master Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 New Palpy fig is great, but the hair just doesn't do it for me. I feel like General Dodonna's hair might look good on him? Any other suggestions? I guess the biggest issue is that he is definitely not blonde which was weird that they made him blonde in 2012, then white in 2014, then blonde again in 2023. Quote

Idk, his TCW appearance does look blonde, but agreed, ROTS is 100% white. Dodonna has too much volume in the back, the 2023 piece looks most accurate for TPM, 2014 is probably best for ROTS, It really depends on what look you're going for Quote
mirkwoodspiders Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Watching the first few episodes of Ahsoka has me thinking one thing: I really, really hope they make a UCS of Ahsoka's T-6 shuttle and the Ghost. The system version are admirable and I'll probably end up getting them both, but UCS versions would be completely justified in my opinion, with some great interior and exterior details possible. Sorry for the wishlisting... When can we expect to see Venator photos? Quote

As for the Ghost, it depends on what scale they want to take it to and ultimately the amount of popularity it gains from this Ahsoka show. It's been discussed on here many times, but a minifig scale Ghost would be an absolute behemoth. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Skeleton Crew is allegedly being delayed, rather unsurprisingly. Hope this doesn‘t affect the set too much! Quote
Clone OPatra Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Not sure if this will be old news to people here, but Luke's special hair from the Final Duel diorama and the Darksaber blade are both currently available on Pick a Brick, if anyone is looking for either of those parts specifically. They had the whole wave with the Skywalker saga codes on then the game got delayed but they still released them. although does take me back to when they had the LOTR/Hobbit range and the movie delays kind ruined that line Quote

Delaying a whole wave of sets because they have a printed code on them is not comparable to delaying a single set. Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 I think it also heavily depends on how much they will delay the show. If it‘s released in spring, say March, the set could be left where it is. A summer release however probably would require a delay. 8 minutes ago, Clone OPatra said: They didn't delay the Black Widow set as one data point for not delaying, but they have delayed other things tied to new properties I think (like Eternals?). Yeah I get that my point was more if something else related to the set is delayed (game/series/film) they normally just carry on they didn’t change the boxes, I was going to save the codes but then didn’t really need them in the end anyways. I suppose the issue with delaying the set of the show is delayed is do they have something to replace it on the shelves, do they move something from the summer wave forward? Or is 3-4 months enough time to design/manufacture a whole new set ready for when it was supposed to come out Quote
Agent Kallus Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 As far as I can recall there hasn't been a single Disney plus star wars show in the last 2-3 years that didn't get it's release date moved around even if only by a matter of days. At one point they announced BBS2 for May the fourth but then it was just Spring and then they delayed it to Autumn and then it didn't actually come out till the following January! And we never got any BBS2 sets so it's a bad point of comparison but if we had they'd have been messed around by the delays. Quote

Not how that works. Usually, they just delay sets without looking for a replacement because there are plenty of other sets on shelves already to fill that gap, especially for big themes like SW and Marvel. Having a reduced wave is not noticeable to your regular customer. Plus, none of the delayed sets in the last few years (Eternals, Shang-Chi, The Marvels, Jurassic World Dominion) have been replaced by anything. The only exception I can think of is the 2015 DC line-up that replaced the delayed BvS sets, but that was announced early enough for them to react and DC is not that big a theme, so an entire wave missing is more obvious.
