The answer seems pretty clear: They'll do neither and release the justifier 2 with a new clone legion.

Now that justifier I'd buy

So at this point I wish Carson Teva had been included in the Ghost set instead of Lt. Beyta, (or in addition too). Hawkins, I would keep as he at least has some lines and a unique uniform. Teva definitely deserves a figure at this point and they had to have known he would show up in this series when making the set. I'd argue he's a great candidate for a promo set or polybag but they rarely do that anymore.

But if they give you Carson Teva in a Ghost set, how are they going to sell you yet another X-wing in 2-3 years when Carson Teva inevitably becomes an inexplicably popular secondary character in The Mandoverse movie?

I think we’re underestimating just how far off Filoni’s movie still is - 3 years seems wildly optimistic. As far as we know, the New Jedi Order film is coming first and Mando S4 hasn’t even started proper development due to the strikes.

Overall though, I can’t see the Eye of Sion being chosen as a set over the Chimaera, it’s ultimately just a giant ring.

@The Stud You’re onto something with how the Summer 2024 wave might turn out. Given the reduction in content we’ll be getting, it’s the perfect opportunity for some more Mandalorian and Ahsoka sets.

If we do get more Ahsoka variants, I hope Lego can finally give her a poncho / cloak. It’s such an integral part of her live-action look at this point.

I will never understand why they skipped that  One of the biggest missed opportunities in recent memory. It‘s like passing on a money printer

TBoBF was not anywhere near as popular as Mando and was not well received. It would be stranger if it did receive a set.

That‘s beside the point. Releasing a set with Boba Fett riding a Rancor, joining forces with a badass Wookiee bounty hunter, fighting against Cad Bane and a cool-looking XXL droideka is like printing money, regardless of how popular the show was

It is becoming increasingly absurd that we have not gotten an Imperial Police Gunship yet - Rebels, Fallen Order, Survivor, and now Ahsoka (they appeared in the background last week, but I was not sure that we would actually see them in action)!
We can also add the standard villain fighters (not Shin/Marrok’s fiend fighters) to the list of sets that we could get; they are getting more screen time than the pirate snub fighter did.

We do need Carson - He is basically the equivalent of Agent Coulson in Phase 1 of the MCU! Agents Rangers of the New Republic when??

If the Eye of Sion does turn out to be a hyperdrive ring, I could see it being included along with the Chimera

The current X-Wing playset is due to retire at the end of this year. Since we're bound to get our obligatory remake soon after, it'd be a nice change of pace to maybe get Carson Teva's X-Wing. The dude deserves it given how much he's appeared in these Mando-verse shows.

Carson Teva and the X-wing he flies? If a set like that, then I might buy it.

That would make for a great set  I'm actually glad they haven't released the Imperial version yet, because one based on Ahsoka definitely has more minifig potential than some of the other options

A Rebels version could give us S3/4 Ezra and Sabine, Rukh, Pryce, etc.

I think that we could get all of the remaining Ahsoka characters (Thrawn, Enoch, Ahsoka the White, Ezra, arm-printed Sabine, the Great Mothers (at least one of them), the Night Troopers, and Morgan’s trooper and HK droids) in the Chimera, Morgan’s shuttle, a villain fighter, and a Night Trooper battle pack. Howlers and the Noti and their houses can be side-builds in these sets.

Just a reminder, please wait 1 week before talking about spoiler-y details from the Ahsoka show. There were a number of references to Enoch and Night Troopers before a full week had past. Those are fair game to chat about now

According to @Lego_Minecraft_Goat, the Skeleton Crew set no longer has the Jan 1st release date attached to it. Looks like the show’s delay is gonna be a bit longer then.

Also, that means we‘re now getting the smallest January wave in LSW history :laugh_hard:

I don't mind at all, that Clone battle pack is all I need to make me happy for the January wave.

I so badly want them to do a CW armor Anakin based on his live action look with arm-printed jedi pauldrons. The fact that they based Padme off early CW has me hopeful. But also they seem to be really leaning into Phase 2 clones so I have no idea what versions of the main trio they would release.

It's a bummer that all of the new republic figures in the Ahsoka wave seem to be nobodies, and the fighters seem pretty throwaway too. I doubt shin's ship appears again, and the E-wing seems like just a cameo for the fans. I still think the ghost and T-6 are great playsets, though I really wish they would have put the T-6 in a higher price slot so we could have had an interior and double sided wing, it's become such an iconic ship for me.

That’s the problem with Disney shows. Designers are extremely restricted due to the nature of this content.

As customers and fans we are getting worse or less relevant products, it’s a shame.

I don't know that we're getting terribly worse sets. People are pretty unanimously loving the Ahsoka wave. It's just that because of concept art not being up to date/info being sparse, it makes the sets feel so much worse, no matter how well they are designed.

I mean, that would have to be a pretty downsized Chimera to make that work...

I think it just depends what designers had to work with. If they didn't get all the info/designs for the Chimera, then I could see an Eye of Sion releasing first since they clearly had designs to work with from the earlier episodes (where that ship obviously appeared). But I guess time will tell.

Not just Ahsoka context, though. Mandalorian Season 3, especially.

It’s a big Lucasfilm problem. I suppose we get this with Marvel too.

They’ll pump out safe and non-spoilery concept art towards licensees for what I call ‘merchandise for the sake of merchandise’. It’s all just to have something on the shelves to tie in with a given piece of media, doesn’t matter how popular the source episodes are expected to be. Mando S3 is a strong example of this, but with Ahsoka we’re lucky that at least a few of the ships and characters we’ve gotten in Lego form have had longstanding popularity and presence throughout all the episodes so far.

Part of why the Mando Season 2 wave of 2021 worked so well is because the sets were based on popular scenes. As long as that also happens with Season 3 as well as Ahsoka next summer, we’re good. It’s just such a big shame that things that would make for such excellent merchandise manifest an incredibly long time after the show they’re from has ended.

I don‘t see the problem. We got three great, accurate sets with amazing minifigs, and suddenly people turn on them because of limited screentime? Just be patient, we will see some spoilery stuff in the future. This is how they operate

I don't really like fighter combo sets, I would love an individual tie interceptor but I couldn't care less about the mando fighter. Similarly, I think the E-wing would outsell Shin's fighter by a wide margin if sold separately, not to mention Shin's fighter is way too big. Having that combo take up a 110 slot is frustrating when the T-6 could have greatly improved from a larger budget.

The whole Mando S3 crab thing is a perfect example of an inaccurate build for an inconsequential vehicle based on a nokia phone pic of the concept art taken from 10 feet away, it's no surprise lego padded that set out with excellent arm printed figures and a ninjago sword to help sales, they make 1 minor improvement to mando with each new set lol.

No I agree, the Ahsoka sets are some of the best we’ve had since the Rogue One wave. I was just pointing to the way Lucasfilm stagger what they show to prevent spoilers is all. I do hope Lego maintains this sort of quality moving into 2024.

@Alex_South I don’t think Lucasfilm do this just because of Lego stuff leaking here and there. You can see the consistency in the overall toys Lego and Hasbro put out for a given show when it releases, they’re all exposed to the same set of reference material. We’ve seen it for Ahsoka, Mando S3, Kenobi, etc. Also, I totally agree that an updated Clone Wars Anakin and Obi-Wan are much needed now, especially with arm printing like last year’s Mace Windu.

Apologies for going off topic. It’s a shame to see the Skeleton Crew ship being delayed, but better to synchronise it with when the show releases. Betting the Acolyte will probably see a set as well and given the time period it’s set in, a Jedi Vector in Lego form would be incredible!

Unfortunately I don't think Lego will go that deeply into the rest of Ahsoka.

The Police Gunship is a set I could see being on the cards. Ezra, Sabine and 2 Night Troopers wouldn't be far off what we got in the Clone Wars version with Anakin, Ahsoka and 2 Shock Troopers.

The Chimera is the only other set I think could be a realistic possibility. We're due for another play scale Star Destroyer/Imperial Cruiser soon so this set would fill that void. They can at least wrap up the essential characters with Ahsoka the White, Thrawn and Enoch here. I have doubts we'll get all three Nightsisters but the lead Great Mother (Klothow) might stand a chance of being thrown in. She should be a fairly simple minifigure as she's more or less just a red version of this:

My guess would be the updated costumes introduced in Tales of the Jedi. They seem to have retconned those into replacing the original Season 1 looks, especially in light of the Teth and Ryloth flashbacks from the Ahsoka series.

With the breakneck speed at which shows are coming out I think its less "we don't want to spoil stuff" and more "we haven't finished any cgi all we have is actors on the volumetric set and concept art that may or may not end up in the final cut". I've been a part of many focus groups for shows that are three or four months out with only one episode with any attempt at cgi (bluescreens galore!) With Lego sets usually taking 2 years to develop, of course they are going to get things wrong, so they are playing it a bit safe. Who knows how late in development Enoch and the Nighttrooper designs were finalized?

I actually have a theory for that and again call me crazy but I’ve nailed stuff in the past tho I only see a 40% chance of this happening, an Ahsoka LAAT/I like it makes the most sense you have the clone troopers and shock troopers in the battlepack plus Kelleran grogu and 501st troopers in the mandalorian? Why not capitalize on the need of a play scale gunship and make a live action LAAT (which did appear in the flashbacks) with regular color scheme? My ideal figures would be: Anakin in TCW armor DARK RED AND BLUE PLEASE p1 Rex Ahsoka 3 regular p1 troopers and 2 501st p1 troopers and charge 160 and make the gunship a stud larger in width height and length I think it is likely or maybe I’m to hopeful but I do see it VERY likely even considering the 2015-2016 X wing thing and tho that was a unique case LEGO knows the demand for a classic LAAT

Yeah, I don't think Lego will do many other Ahsoka sets, which is why I am frustrated with some of the choices made for this wave, overall I still think its a great wave. I think the police gunship has decent odds, maybe it could be a clone wars themed set, or bad batch? but I would like it to be Ahsoka.

That's a good point about the Tales of the Jedi. I forgot about the costume retcon in that show. I think the live action interpretation is my favorite though, the robe colors, armor and curly hair make him look the most heroic that any jedi has ever looked imo (in a Grand Army of the Republic propaganda way, you can totally envision him as the poster boy for the war), the Rex figure accidentally looks dead-on to the live action version so maybe we get lucky with a similar Anakin, honestly I want both versions of Anakin that we saw in world between worlds.

on a side note related to sets from this year, I have been waiting for someone to post the Yavin base set with a falcon or ghost in there, seems like it might all scale well.
