Ohh, saying it like that, slave leia!

I don't think she deserves the bonus anniversary fig treatment. She could quite easily show up normally soon, looking at all the survey sets said to come this year she could easily be in the sail barge.

Wouldn’t she show up in the UCS/MBS Sail Barge?

Maybe one of these figures could be controversial because they belong to a faction that gets lots of sets and could easily have been put in a normal set? Boss Nass for the gungans or any imperial character for example. Then again Fives is part of a clone legion that has had loads of Lego exposure these past few years and everyone’s still happy to get him.

Both Fives and Malak also have a ‘cool’ action-figure appeal to them - alongside them we could get a less action-focused character like Shmi, the Client or Dr Pershing who would be probably quite a bit more unpopular to certain fans

Goes over the latest rumours.. adds Tantive IV Boarding set to buying list.

Malak I'll have to see pics before I bite the bullet..

My personal hope is that one day Lego will grace us with a Republic Commando minifig.

And I mean I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I'm also getting into the high republic (read high republic 4 books since August) but whilst I'd like Vern or something I think I'd rather they used these slots for somebody else as we are sure to get high republic stuff for the accolyte.

Talzin is more iconic than most characters outside of the shows and movies.

A High Republic minifigure would be great. Marchion has a unique helmet, so he would be cool, but I’m not sure he’s popular enough to warrant one of these slots.

Talzin I can definitely see coming, especially with the Great Mothers from Ahsoka looking pretty similar. On the other hand, maybe if the Great Mothers are planned to come in an Ahsoka set later down the line, they might not make Talzin.

I imagine the great mothers, as a part of the second half of the episodes, were kept a complete secret so Lego would only known of their existence when we did. On the other hand, they might have started brainstorming and designing anniversary minifigures 2 or 3 years ago!

So basically the great mothers are way too recent to affect whether Lego would have considered a mother talzin minifigure

Boss Nass,Nien Nunb,Dexter Jettster are musts IMO if it’s about making wanted figures. (Other ones in that list would be Cobb Vanth,Young Leia,Battle Damaged Vader,Book of Boba Cad Bane,Black Krrsantan,Dutchess Santine, literally any variants or Padme from TPM/AOTC/ROTS,and Yaddle.)

Ohhh Yaddle, that is actually a great guess. I could see either her or Yarael Poof as they appeared in the LSW game and are also obscure.

Boss Nass, Dexter Jettster and Dutchess Satine also seem like very logical guesses.

I’m most interested to see how many of these figures we would get in 2024 overall?

The real question is how many sets will include them? I don’t expect the Skeleton Crew set/Battlepack/4+ set to include them. But if all other sets with Minifigures are on the table I could see surprise figures in the Sail Barge and UCS Tie Interceptor. Perhaps the UCS Tie really will include Season 3 Moff Gideon and maybe even other figures?????

LifeBricks suggested the other day that Mando Season 3 Gideon is coming out in 2024: "We don't need Moff Gideon in that [UCS Tie Interceptor] set." Earlier in the video, he (less confidently) speculated that one of the unknown sets could be Mando Season 3 related.

If I were to speculate using these breadcrumbs, he or a source has seen a leaked piece but he/they're not sure where we'd get it.

He's been hit-or-miss on leaks so I wouldn't count this as confirmation of anything. However, he's been privy to info before the general public in the past, so this does give some substance to anybody hoping to see the figure and, potentially, more of S3 represented in Lego.

Such amazing news! If I could add a fig to the wishlist, let it be Babu Frik!

But.... I come up with a theory I would like to share with you:

What if all this figs are not random desired figs, but are figs which celebrate different/notable sets from Lego Star Wars history? This is the 25th anniversary of LSW, afterall.

Fives homages the 501st legion set, which sold very well.

Darth Malak homages the Darth Revan polybag (maybe the most notable one?)

This would narrow the picks. Maybe Nien Nunb to celebrate a Falcon (Lego best seller, perhaps). Or Cal to celebrate the BD set (representing the whole 18+ line).

Wasn't expecting to be getting anniversary minifigures and even better that they're all new characters rather than some kind of gimmick like the golden minifigures. Fives is a welcome addition and its great to be adding another Sith Lord to the collection. Can't wait to find out who else we might be getting.

I hope its Boss Nass. He's been one of the biggest gaps in the saga for the past 25 years and easily one of the most requested minifigures in a long time. He would also tie in well with the anniversary for TPM.

It depends on how many Great Mothers they would intend on making. One of them wore a similar headdress to Talzin and is going to require a new mold for it anyway. The benefit of releasing one character is that it would open the door for the other. Perhaps the Medieval Town Square could also remake the Classic Castle cone hat in a way that can be repurposed for both these characters?

The other two Great Mothers should be fairly simple figures to make as they can just reuse the CMF wizard hat and the 2019 Jedi/Sith hood.

I would welcome every one of these characters.

Nien Nunb would be a great choice for the Falcon! I don't really see them doing a ROTJ themed playscale version so including him here as a bonus figure here would be a nice alternative.

No one wants anything based on the High Republic lol

This kind of comment is just not helpful - the Star Wars fandom is massive and sprawling and different people like many different parts of it, including the high republic

That being said I would be very surprised if we get a figure from that just because of how recent it is - I imagine Lego will play it safe. Considering how long the design process can take it’s very possible we won’t see anything from the last five years - especially considering how Fives’ last episode was almost 10 years ago (2014) and Malak will presumably be based off a game from 2003!

Tantive IV boarding now is a must have with Fives. Anxiously awaiting more details!

As for Darth Malak, glad he is with R2. I was gonna skip that anyways, just not a character for me. Maybe I will pick him up later though.

With the Venator and other sets, I like the expansion and creativity from LEGO so far (released and rumored).

That’s so good to hear! I was worried lego just forgot all about doing spoiler sets for S3.

Yes, Lego will play it safe. But it is not the publishing date of HR that is the problem, it is the lack of audience. Recent releases struggled getting 10k sales. The first installment was very successful but from then it went downhill fast. I mean 10k fans, as of now, are not nearly enough to be remotely interesting for Lego. How many of them are even interested in Lego? 1/3? 1/10? Then subtract the numbers who would not buy a set for whatever reason (dislike, current financial situation), and you arrive at what...?

Makes no sense.

Jedi Surivor sold more than 800.000 copies, Fallen Order even more. And we did not get sets for them. If that's not save enough for Lego, the 10.000 or so fans of HR won't matter either. (Yeah, I know, BD1)

So while "lol" was not exactly helpful, claiming HR is worth a set and it only takes time does not seem to be terribly helpful either.

I think it's silly to point at numbers as why lego didn't make sets either way, because these anniversary figures are clearly just for hardcore fans either way, otherwise we wouldn't be getting a figure based on a 20 year old video game. I would say the range of people invested in Darth Malak vs High Republic is a similarly small number, just from different age groups of fans. (Also we technically already have a high republic set coming next year with young jedi adventures + probably the acolyte. Clearly lucasfilm is pushing High Republic to be the next big thing regardless of book sales)

I don't know why lego isn't making sets for the Jedi series but I don't think its because of a lack of interest

Hold on, you can't compare KOTOR to the high republic. So many more people know KOTOR, and more importantly, so many more people LIKE KOTOR. It's considered a gold standard of the franchise, whereas the high republic has been consistently controversial, and as @Flieger says, struggling sales-wise.

Lucasfilm has been really pushing it, with the animated and live action shows out/in development, but I don't think lego would have the gall to give us Malak, Fives, and then... some HR jedi? The rock thing?

As someone who has grown up with Star Wars closer to the disney era, I can guarantee that Kotor isn't as popular as it used to be. Younger fans are not going to have the same reverence for a character that released well before their time. However, I still don't think that they are going to make a high republic character as a part of this line, more so because the era is almost exclusively books at the moment (even though that is changing some point next year) and books simply do not have the reach that movies, shows, and games have. I more just think its silly to write off new releases entirely when Lucasfilm is still clearly fully pushing the era.

Ultimately I think it's hard to gauge the popularity of something like Kotor Nowadays, with it being as old as it is. So I would say that Lego isn't trying with these figures to grab the interest of literally every star wars fan out there. But I do think they will likely skew more towards older content with these, and not anything very recent.

At the end of the day I feel like this conversation doesn't matter much, we don't have anything really to go on so I feel like trying to put down things people are interested in because you don't like them doesn't add anything.

Would the spoiler Ahsoka sets have already been designed ? Because from what I see, Ahsoka wasn't really a success and that there is a lack of Ahsoka toys so maybe Lego will see that and not want to make anymore ? I agree Ahsoka wasn't the best but I enjoyed episode 5,6,7 and 8. Hopefully Lego will release more sets like Thrawn's Star Destroyer and a Night Trooper battle pack.

I'm sorry didn't mean to offend anyone but I was just saying that most people don't like the newer Disney stuff (me included) and that people only want the good stuff like OT,PT,Clone Wars and sometimes if possible a good Disney Plus show with good set potential.

Posted

Regarding the anniversary there's no chance HR gets a fig because these figs are about celebrating the last 25 years of LSW and thus we are for sure getting a PT, OT, & ST anniversary fig meaning with Malak & Fives that's at least 5 figs. I don't see them doing more than 5-6 figs and even if they do Mandalorian, RO & Solo, D+ series, & Video Games will take precedence over High Republic books. Also, the average LSW fan will definitely know more about KOTOR than HR because a best-selling video game will be more popular than a poorly-sold book even if the book is newer. However, while HR might be less popular I do think we have a chance at getting a set from the era simply because the Acolyte is coming out next year and every D+ series has got at least one set around their respective releases so HR should be no different.

You may not like Disney-era content, but that does not mean that “most people” do not; also, I feel like many tend to forget that Rebels is from the Disney era!
