It took longer than this for us to get the 2020 summer list.  If I remember correctly, we had a really blurry box picture of Grievous' fighter in January/February but no other details on sets.  I'm fairly certain then that we knew we were getting the Knights of Ren ship, AT-AT, and 3 smaller sets in like early March (which turned out to be the 501st clones, Anakin's starfighter, and the AAT), but didn't have concrete details on anything yet.  The 501st set wasn't revealed until April and I'm pretty sure literally the only public info on that was that it was supposed to be an AT-RT.  The Final Duel was an "unknown retail exclusive" until we got a picture, and the Resistance transport as a set wasn't on anyone's radar at all and was a total surprise when we got a picture.

Just curious - what is preventing leakers from sharing the list? Is there something they're waiting for? Or are they scared of Lego?

I presume because a good chunk of these will be based on media from this year. The initial Summer 2022 list Promobricks released around this time last year had numerous TBDs corresponding with the Kenobi and Andor sets. 

All these cryptic hints sound pretty disappointing so far though, I guess we better keep our expectations low.

Honestly I wouldn’t even worry about the summer list yet since we still don’t even know what the May UCS is.

Do we have any statistical geek here who would have a vague idea about the correlation between reveal time and wave satisfaction? 

Me for one reason I dont mind a bit late reveal is that we have to wait so long after to see some actual content. Im more kean to get some more info about the may sets aotm.

Yeah, if you shrub of the unnecessary christmas rubbish we actually have a new generic, or even named (since there are so many ewoks so wouldnt be suprised one is similar in color) ewok to add to the bunch.

New unnamed Mandalorian just leaked, I think it’s from the $34.99 SnubFighter set as one of the Mandos seen fighting pirates on Nevarro. Hopefully this means we’ll get more info on the figs included in those two sets soon.

Oddly enough it seems like the May UCS has leaked later than the initial summer information in recent years. Didn't the Tantive IV not get leaked until a week prior?

To be fair we usually know the summer list before the May UCS. 

But my money's still on the AT-ST.

Exactly. Though it might be tough since the green is a print too, you'd have to be careful with that eraser/nail polish remover/whatever you happen to use. I like to stay purist so I'll probably just keep the christmas bits on, it's like the Mando Scarf where it's nothing too christmas-specific and eye catching, just a little pattern on his hood.

If I remember correctly, the UCS Y-Wing literally appeared on shelves before anyone outside of LEGO employees knew what was coming.

The 'UCS' Porg was another recent one where the first indication that it was happening was a photo of it already in a store somewhere. Security seems to be better for those than for the normal System sets.

We are nearing the release of Mando S3, but do we think a reveal of one or both of the spring Mando S3 sets around that time is likely?

Probably due to being LEGO exclusives during initial release, they can keep a tighter seal on the leaks without involving 3rd part vendors. 

Dang it, I really am curious about the May set this year. I have not gotten one since the 2019 Tantive IV.

This is because most of the leaks you see originate from the retail channel. Anyone from store buyers/reps that see sets in catalogs or at trade shows, down to cashiers with access to inventory or point of sale systems. They learn about most retail sets 6ish months before they release, which then trickles down to the gen pop.

The UCS sets are initially sold direct to consumers ("DTC" or "D2C") — that means they're LEGO store exclusives for their first three months — and so they're typically not shared with retail partners in advance. Hence, fewer leaks... unless a fig sneaks out of a factory or someone internal to LEGO talks, which is a lot rarer than you might think... 

The other exception are channel/partner store exclusives, i.e., those sold only at Target or Walmart or Amazon. Those aren't shared with other retailers or shown in catalogs or at conventions, so few outside of LEGO learn of their existence until much closer to release (which often fall outside of the Jan/Apr/Aug cycle for Star Wars sets, further obscuring their identities).

Definitely not impossible. The Ant-man set has been revealed a couple of days ago, and that one is also scheduled for May. I‘d say there is a good chance they get revealed before the dioramas do

Don't. Leakers reveal when they feel they can get away with it. Pushing people to release information that could get them in trouble legally is, at best, inconsiderate.

It‘s more about the attitude. I want to see the list as much as the next guy, but we‘re not entitled to it

Exactly! If the sets are all based on Mando Season 3,Ahsoka,and Skeleton Crew the leakers should just say that’s why it’s taking longer. I don’t think anyone cares if we have blank unknown sets on the list considering that’s always the norm for new projects.
