Honestly my hope that Rex is kinda involved in some way with the Ahsoka sets (maybe a flashback rebels era scene or something, maybe with a blue y wing hehe) and then the swamp speeder is just some 327th or 212th or maybe 41st elite corps (if they fix that horrible scout helmet) pseudobattlepack maybe with a named character like Bly, Cody or Gree that prevents them from just calling it "Extra expensive 327th clone battlepack lmao" after the backlash from that Jedi and Clone battlepack.

---At this point i kinda just deviate from the message i'm quoting and go on a rant about army building---

I think i've had my fill of 501st Clones for a couple years atleast. I'd also personally really hate for the speeder to be like Anakin, Rex, a 501st Trooper and a wookie or something weird like that. I'm kinda considering my lego budgeting for August around the idea that I might be buying up to 10 of those speeders and i'd hate to be left high and dry on that. I really want a real army builder set this year. The 501st Battlepack seems like it's just a cash grab to capitalise on the last dregs of goodwill from that original 501st pack. Does lego really think most of us want an army comprised of officers, heavies and snipers? and that we're gonna buy 5+ of these? It's certainly not ACTUALLY supposed to be promotional for SW:BF2, a game that came out 6 years ago now. They're cool but i'm not gonna build a 501st Sniper army and have like 50 of them. They're a nice addition, in-fact the officer really makes me want to see more of those kind of troopers in future but it's disappointing to me as someone who just likes to accumulate standard clones and droids (and sometimes other figures like storm troopers or rebels) but an army builder set, they are not.

Despite the fact that there are 3 sets with multiple clone troopers available in retail and legodotcom right now, none of them are really "clone army builder packs" The Tank is £40 and you get 2 clone troopers, 3 if you actually do want to build a 187th airborne army, which fair enough if you do lol. Which isn't the best way to accumulate a lot of figures especially with all those extra Windu's you'd have, that sucks for kids and collectors alike, only really benefitting investors(which I assume lego doesn't cater for?) The AT-TE is £120 and it comes with 3 clone troopers (not inc. cody) All those figures are going for £10+ on the secondary market rn. And the 501st battlepack, while lego will probs disagree just isn't an army builder, it's an army supplement if anything. So despite having 3 whole sets with clone troopers in it available right now, it feels like I can't actually build armies of clone troopers for any kind of reasonable rate. Again, lego may disagree but my hope is still there for a true army builder battle pack in that swamp speeder. Although for us Europeans we can get those foilpacks of 212th Troopers in magazines later this month which i'll definitely be doing just to get my battlepack hit.

So my fingers are crossed for it just being an army builder style set with a silly name out of fear of backlash and/or so they can put the price tag up on it ever so slightly. (It's like £2 more than the 501st (current) battlepack)

I don’t think this is a spoiler for the Ahsoka series but it’s rummored that it will take place on several time periods including the clone wars and she will be played by different actresses, so maybe Rex comes in a Ahsoka series gunship who knows? But I wouldn’t mind a 501st battle pack 3.0 if it has regular 501st troopers

Since Lego usually sets the prices close to what the conversion rate is in the time leading up the release of a set.

I wish that were the case over here. The inconsistency in their pricing in Aus is baffling at times; I don't think it has much to do with conversion rates, and if it does, they have to be exaggerating a lot to get the prices that they do.

As much as I want a new Rex figure, I’m taking this Swamp Speeder rumor with a grain of salt. It’s only one Instagram account saying this and it sounds more like an assumption that a confirmation to me.

The Executor is… fine. It looks really good and everything, I’m just really disinterested in most 18+ sets at this point. And $70 for that thing? Really? If I can find a good deal on it or if I have a bunch of VIP points saved up, I might consider it.

And I still feel pretty solid about my guesses for the minifigure lineup for the first two Mando S3 sets after today’s episode.

That’s not what the rumor is.

The rumor is that we’ll get some Clone Wars/Rebels-era flashbacks and a look at an alternate version of how things could have gone if Ahsoka stayed with the Jedi/Anakin. Taking place in several different time periods would be technically true, but it isn’t fully accurate.

It’s also not something I would see Lego doing ahead of the series. Even if it’s not actually spoilery, Lego would probably wait to do something like what you suggest that regardless.

Peculiar... over in Australia, the Tac-Pod is AUD$130, but the Executor is only AUD$100. Is the Andor set absurdly priced with the Executor being a bit over average, or did we get a good deal for the Executor?

Both. The Ambush on Ferrix set was overpriced everywhere when it should have been the same price as the TIE Bomber considering the weight, piece count and minifigs. But you guys in Australia got a good deal on the Executor. At the time of me typing this, $70USD is $103.78AUD, and the Australian price includes 10% tax.

My new theory on the swamp speeder:

Mostly same build as the 2014 set and include 5 minifigs: P2 Rex, 2 501st clone troopers and 2 plain p2’s I think it will have more than 4 figures to justify the price

Ok don’t kill me, but I wouldn’t mind a 3rd 501st army builder set, the new battlepack is lacking a regular 501st trooper and that annoys me cause I wasn’t able to have as much 501st troopers as I wanted to do if the new set comes with at least 2 501st troopers il receive it with open arms tbh, btw any news on the 1083 pieces set?

5 figs would be great but I'd be quite surprised if we get that many (unless some are battle droids). We have to keep in mind that this would almost certainly have been cheaper without recent inflation, and in that context even 4 figs seems like a stretch to me. It's not impossible but I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if it's only got 3.

Pricing is all over the place for Australian SW sets. The following sets: N-1 Starfighter ($60 USD), TIE Bomber ($65 USD), most helmets, SSD & Trench Run ($70 USD) are all $100 AUD here, while Ferrix is $70 USD and $130 AUD :shrug_confused: From memory the recent Imperial Shuttle had a similar ridiculous conversion as Ferrix.

On an unrelated note Cody and Rex are already on the shelves in my local Kmart. Usually it's a couple of weeks after release date before physical copies start showing up in non-Lego stores.

Don't forget how the $60 USD Mandalorian starfighter is only $90 AUD, making the others look even sillier by comparison!

Though the set doesn't particularly interest me personally, my dad is considering getting it for his (small) collection, so I appreciate that.

It'd be funny if the leaked Mando was from the summer set not one of the spring ones.

Does anyone have a nice comprehensive list of what we are expecting and when? Like @Scarilian has been doing on the marvel thread.

Sure, we‘ve had early leaks like that before, but it‘s still more likely to be from one of the May sets

After seeing the episode, I have to say making a small set based on those pirate starfighters was a really good choice. I wonder which of the pirates will be included though. If it‘s just one, it has to be Vane (the Nikto).

And

Gorian Shard‘s ship

absolutely needs to become a set too in the future

I just hope Mando S3 gets better long-term treatment from TLG than TBoBF. Still waiting for the Rancor battle set

That was a year earlier though, and LEGO's prices have risen a little since then (even before the announced price rises). The $100 USD Bad Batch Shuttle was $150 AUD. Now $100 USD sets are generally priced between $160 and $180 AUD.

But yeah, in general Australian prices don't simply follow US prices, and LEGO's regional pricing is never about a straight currency conversion. It's about the individual markets and a range of other factors - I'm sure they have formulas for these things.

I feel your pain. Even though it's all in euros, generally everything on S@H is slightly more expensive here in Finland (the helmets and SSD are all 85eur instead of 70eur, for instance), and for some reason the AT-TE from last summer is 10eur *more* expensive than the Justifier. I'm sure there are reasons for it, but it is frustrating.

Agreed. I think that the set in the spoiler is a shoe-in for 2024, provided it shows up again (which I'm sure it will).

A LEGO interpretation of the S3 main poster has been posted on the official social media accounts :classic: This means reveals must be right around the corner :excited:

not only that but it looks to be an updated fig of Din, with UCS  razor crest style helmet print and maybe a dark blueish grey undersuit? (it might be the same though)

Honestly to me the undersuit looks like it's pearl dark grey, the legs have a pearly sheen and it's way darker than DBG.

I don't think it's clear enough to tell whether it's even different from the standard dark brown, but a different undersuit color would be excellent. Dark brown really just doesn't work for him here.

Though I'm not sure a metallic/pearl tone would work either, I think it would look odd with printed amor plates on top of it.

My hopes are for DBG but I wouldn't rule out them just continuing the dark brown.

There's a better picture of the blue Mandalorian from the Fang Fighter set and man does it look good. Double-sided head and some nice, if unnecessary back printing. The helmet especially looks good from different angles. I can't wait to see the whole set and the other figures that come with it.

Yeah I can't see it being gunmetal grey, that just wouldn't make sense. It's a drawing not a photo so you can't trust sheen.

Yeah it probably is dark brown, which is accurate enough as his under suit is mostly dark brown, it just ends up making the whole figure look a bit too brown and they DBG would work better for some lighting but dark brown for others.

Found one, written up by @THELEGOBATMAN (thank you for your service) in the 2023 news thread.

Yeah the blue makes me think Clan Kyrze, but it doesn't look to be Axe Woves unless he's changed up his armour (and face looks too young for Axe but it's not a new face anyway).

stormtrooper mech will be good to get for new torso and legs for stormtrooper

For $15? For one figure? If you really want slightly different stormtrooper printing I’m sure it will come in a cheap set or even a battle pack at some point in the next year or two.

I would buy him in sale for 10$ or less

It’s still a Stormtrooper though. We have gotten and will continue to get countless of them until Lego stops making Star Wars sets.

I still hope the mech thing is a bad taste joke. There's a reason why we haven't had mechs, zombies (aside from a few unholy exceptions) or superheroes in Star Wars - those things just don't belong in the universe, and this fact needs no explanation.

While these things aren't set in stone, we can predict a storm trooper battlepack WILL happen again at some point (NOTE: this is not a leak, it's just a prediction). I mean I doubt they're gonna give us 2 clone battlepacks in a row and since they're doing 1 battlepack a year now, i'd say there's a solid chance of getting a storm trooper battlepack next year. It's entirely possibly that they may go the route of the AT-AT and release a battlepack to go with a set coming this year, which could be the rumored Yavin 4 set. Wouldn't be surpised if we got a rebel battlepack next year to help fill it out and maybe some kind of cheap storm trooper army builder to go against it which may give you better value for your money than those mechs, even at $10.

Right now i'm looking at the stormtrooper which comes with the 2021 Tie Fighter which I think is the most recent storm trooper design, we also saw it in the 2021 Armored Marauder and on Bricklink those figures are going for roughly $5 each(slightly more if you want the ones from the marauder as they have different figure heads from the TIE but the outside appears the same) . Assuming that's the figure you want in the mechs you could be getting 3 of them for $15 on the secondary market rather than spending $15 on the mech.

This is of-course all based on me assuming the 2021 Tie Fighter is the most recent Stormtrooper design, I don't pay much attention to the OT sets so I could have missed one. Even still, im sure a brand new printed trooper would still come in a battlepack or cheap set some time in the next couple years.

It's also based on me thinking Lego would do things in a fairly logical way but here we are in 2023 with a bunch of non-canon purple clonetroopers on the market before a new gen of 327th or 41st Elite, which I would not have been able to predict given a hundred tries prior to that set release.

With the discussion on Clones and army building in general I don't know why Lego hasn't gone back to the two Battlepack per year system yet. If last year was any indication with the accessory packs they would still sell incredibly well.
