LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 24. Rumors and discussion

Confirmed today the next CMF series will be Series 24 next January 1st

It seems they shifting back to more regular series. Why could that be? 

Also, now with so many recent series being numbered they cant keep recycling the same color for the boxes/bag. So dark green, white, light blue, and yellow/orange cant ben reused for S24. Maybe red like Series 7?

I wouldn't read that much into it. Hasn't January been the time for unlicensed series for a while now?

It's only Series 23 that is a fluke so far. I think it's totally possible that LEGO was working on something licensed for this year but the property got delayed or cancelled, or they just wanted to do an extra unlicensed series to sort of celebrate the 90th anniversary. Next year might go back to the previous pattern.

Only the last two years. S20 was in May, DC was in the Jan slot that year.

There was a lot of speculation that a licensed series would be in the Sept slot because the one unlicensed series for the year had been released already, but I think S23 is exactly where it's supposed to be.

In hindsight Lego was interested in doing a Xmas and Thanksgiving heavily inspired costume theme, the Sept slot was the most appropriate time of year to release it. 

But that's S23 and I'm drifting off topic...

I know there is no more details than set number and release. So this is my wishful thought - I sure hope Series 24 has some new animals. I mean, Series 23 is the first time without animals after several years since Seires 8 (I believe). 

 

Another wishful thought - one minifigure should have long legs. :)

I doubt this will happen but since Series 23 was largely Thanksgiving/Christmas themed, I wonder if we might see a lot of late winter or spring-type figures in Series 24. Maybe some versions of Cupid, a Leprechaun and the Easter Bunny?

I'd say Easter Bunny and Cupid are very likely if they continue with the holiday characters roster

I'm still holding out hope for an actual folkloric anthropomorphic bunny rabbit as the Easter Bunny, instead of people wearing hoods with ears. They could reuse the VIDIYO mold for the head.

If we get an actual Easter Bunny (with reused head piece from VIDIYO) in Series 24, I would think it’s quite funny.

2023 will be Year of the Rabbit for Chinese celebration and Easter Bunny is a rabbit. 

Of course, Easter Bunny NEVER associated or had connection qqwith Chinese New Year, I just think it’s quite funny to me - getting Easter Buny during the Year of the Rabbit.

That’s the truth. That’s why I put a lion knights archer at the top of my list on the guessing game thread. They’d sell like crazy.

Could it be that this triceratops head that leaked is from Series 24?

Maybe after Vidiyo cancellation they just sent it to a CMF series?
