Not able to find the light blue witch hat leak anywhere. That said if its the same mould as always that color combo doesn’t sound that appealing.

By the way. That minifigure that leaked: is it an ogre, a troll or an orc?

I’m betting ogre but either way it looks pretty cool. Love the new mould to set it apart from other figs of the same nature released in the past. Its also got an army build-ability to it.

I think its so lame they avoid pink and purple bags for the male audience. Are little kids that immature they wouldn’t buy purple ploy bags? If anything a pastel green color would be neat to get. Maybe a cosmic design if they want to go with something patterned. But I think its unfortunate we may never get purple or pink polybags.

It is a new mould (smaller and more squashed-looking hat, wavy hair).

No, but parents are. 😕

…yes. :laugh_hard:

Joking aside, I’d love to see a purple, pink, or red series! Kinda sick of all the yellow, blue, green, and white ones.

The scarcity of red ones is especially baffling to me. Even the Marvel and Looney Tunes series went for less fitting (and more boring) alternatives

Where can I find said leak? I haven’t been able to find it on the lego leaks hashtag.

Lol. I mean there’s various shades of pinks and purples that can be done as well. I’m surprised a burgundy or even a muted purple has not been used. I think a Disney series would be a great opportunity to use said color because the license is so popular I think it off sets any markability risks posed by the lighter color.

I saw it on instagram a while back (I cannot remember the account, though). Also, it is not just you; hashtags have only been displaying the top nine results lately. 😕

I'm honestly having a hard time trying to get why purple might be perceived as girly (and why that'd be a bad thing) but even so it could be "balanced out" with the selection of minifigures shown in the bag/box

Let's hope for pink/purple, but I think red has the bigger chances

What I meant by that is, if the girly colors are seen as a possible detractor for consumers, that would be off set by how popular the characters are in a popular licensed theme like Disney. Taking such a risk with say a costumed series is likely to feed into that distaste with consumers whereas the color of a bag may be an after thought if the content is a figure from a highly lucrative franchise.

I think Lego has tried marketing Friends sets to both boys and girls and with themes like TLM2 have made a huge push to include feminine content in sets traditionally marketed towards boys, so hopefully that forward thinking mentality (not trying to cause controversy but we even got a pride set) may contribute to our eventual purple bagged series. Besides purple and pink I think a beige series would be nice. Have we gotten one yet?

Up until say 10 years ago, any shade of purple was second only to pink in terms of being considered too “girly” for boys to have anything to do with it, but I think for dark “royal” purple at least, that reputation has faded and it is more associated with a gender-neutral expression of power, opulence, and showiness. Lilac and other pale shades are still considered very feminine, as are most pastels.

Sounds like it's too hot for a sweater then. j/k

More power to you, my guy. The only way we change arbitrary BS like that is to defy it.

So….it’s not purple at all?

It kinda looks dark blue/black to me but we did get purple for the Lego movie 2

maybe the reason we haven’t seen red for 10 years is because other toy companies like using red for their blind bag products and Lego wants their product to stand out from their competitors?

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if they had a wheel with 10 colors on it and whenever the time comes to pick a new one for a series they spin it and use the one the arrow points to

Okay. I thought that was dark purple for Series 14.

And you know blind bag has a red Lego logo ? And a red series #? It may be that why they dont use that red color.

Anyways, something came to my mind - what is a big point talking about colors for blind bags / boxes? I mean we just trash them after opening them at home. Who does collect discarded blind bags?

I’m ashamed to admit I have never thrown away a CMF bag…

when I started collecting 12 years ago I put the bags in a box and years later i still haven’t thrown them away not sure why

I am aware of both, but I'm talking about the general connotations of colors in the mainstream. You never hear about the Lavender Menace anymore (at least I don't). And wasn't the Tinky Winky thing more about the triangle than the purple?

It was both, plus the handbag ;)

Better pic of the troll/orc/ogre leaked!

The emblem on the torso looks a lot like the troll’s from the fantasy era sets

I’m guessing if he has a shield it would have the same design.

also I saw another pic of the new jaw piece and it is an official Lego piece.
