ks6349 Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 (edited) Do you think Lego 60346 Barn & Farm Animals is retiring? Which parts of this set make it one of the most expensive city sets in terms of cost per piece? In fact, only the ox and the pink pigs interest me, but the lowest price I can find for the full set is about $35 (in USD). I know that the pigs can be bought alone on Lego site but not the ox. Is there a way that I can buy the ox alone from Lego official site? And how much would that be? Edited April 24, 2023 by ks6349 Quote

It is a 4+ set and they have a lot of big expensive pieces, in addition to that it is all the animals.. 3 hours ago, ks6349 said: I know that the pigs can be bought alone on Lego site but not the ox. It is a cow, but you can buy them from on PAB from Lego for $13,57 in New Zealand (plus horns and bricks for the back).. Cow 6317293/69673 Quote

My guess would be something 6-7 deep with open back 2023 really is pushing those new 16x8 and 8x8 plates for the building floors so it seems likely to see more 60371: Emergency Vehicles HQ building is 6 studs deep, leaving 1 stud for this new base to attach roads or side-terrain. Or 60372: Police Training Academy is 7 studs deep, and has some 8x8 sections. I like the idea of those new plates and how they are meant to integrate easily into road plates, but I also see how it increases parts count as each of those plate gaps is filled with more 1x4 bits, and that includes middle floor and ceilings. That said, 8x16 and 8x8 are my favorite size for buildings with open back. Edited April 24, 2023 by TeriXeri Quote

danimarroquin Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 I'm really hoping we get some brand-new molds for the passenger airplane! If is going to be 6 studs wide, then we really need to get doors on that aircraft for sure and hoping for a cargo compartment to fit luggage . definitely the new aircraft has come with a push back truck and ground equipment to service the plane while on the ground. Lion King Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 It looks like an orca would show up in Arctic subtheme this summer! I hope it’s true. If not, I will burn Lego HQ down. Quote

With 913 pieces it has to be far bigger and probably will be standard 8 studs wide. Or, maybe 'passenger plane' is just a name, and it will include a terminal and some land infrastructure? Just like the 60263. However, I'd like to see a decent airport with building and control tower rather than a detailed and huge jumbo jet. I alway think about my beloved 6597 - best airport set of all times. Remember having it on my birthday back in 1996. Sweet times. Quote
Lion King Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 I think there will be a new seal mold along with an orca in a largest set? 19 hours ago, williejm said: I think you may need to specify this is a joke :0) Haha! Maybe you are right. :) Quote

Pure speculation here: Seems logical for that €150 Arctic Research Ship set, as Orcas do eat seals in both Arctic and Antarctic oceans. My guess is that the Arctic ship will come with some floating ice as terrain, instead of underwater/diving being the focus. Especially since there will be 2 other sets focused on Ocean Exploration, with a Boat and a Submarine , without Arctic in the name, but Ocean Explorer , like 2020 (which was an extension of 2015 Deep Sea) Edited April 27, 2023 by TeriXeri Quote

Orcas also attack great white sharks somewhere in ocean due to climate change. But I agree with you on the seal and ordain the largest set. Quote

True, Orcas eat a lot of things, seals at coast/ice, sea lions at beaches, sharks, baby whales/whale tongues, fish, etc etc, even around just the UK there are like orca groups with 3+ different diets. But in the context of Arctic, orcas making waves to get a seal off a floating piece of ice is a known hunting technique, so perfectly would fit alongside a large Arctic LEGO ship set. I can clearly see that the magazine is themed all over airports and air vehicles, even though I can't figure out what the heck is this vehicle (the reward from the next magazine), it's quite uncommon to see such a big piece for a paper bag set. The sneak peek of the next magazine shows a blue aircraft landing, could it be the upcoming passenger plane? It's so blurry I can't figure out if its a new plane or the 2016 plane instead Quote

Yeah I feel the same about some of those magazines, even while the price did increase to like €6-€6.50 over the last 2 years, and City availability magazines got reduced from like 12 to 6 in my country, I can fully understand how not having them in a country (or even Continent in the case of North America) at all is quite unfair. And about polybags, yeah they are much harder to find if at all in my area, and CMF are non-existent, never ever seen them in a store at all. Polybag offerings on LEGO.com have pretty much "died" as currently the only offering in my country are a Hidden Side stunt cannon, and a leftover Xtra, and a 2020 DOTS. And many of those magazine builds are still even much better compared to Polybags imo, 952210: Robbie Rolla's Steamroller was my only magazine from 2022 but the build is pure genius. Limited availabilty is just super annoying , regardless of what sized set imo. Edited April 28, 2023 by TeriXeri Quote
