I was quite curious about that “deer” part. Regardless, I am quite looking forward for minifigures and micro-builds. Quote

The big city set although $60 more it much more detailed and have deeper rooms and you dont need to spend extra money to make it better because it is fine just as it is so i will be buying that instead. The buildings for the creator theme seemed to have been very much dumbed down a lot the past few years with this years set being the pinnacle of it with most of the buildings being basically just a facade. Personally, I never buy any building sets from this City theme. I really like Modular Buildings from Icons (18+). They are much deeper and detailed, it’s exactly what I’m looking. However, I’m welcoming any vehicles (car, motorcycle, plane, etc) into Modular city. I only chase after animals in City sets AND a few good vehicles like Electric Car, Police Car, ATV & Otter Habitant but not a building set itself. I would appreciate if designers decide to make buildings a bit more deeper and detailed but price may go up, unfortunately. Friends sets look amazing (I’m not a fan of minidolls myself, tho) so probalby I will buy a few. Quote

Friends sets are often too good to pass up, and since no one in our household likes them, I save the figures up until I have a lot of 50 to put on eBay with no reserve. The big lots often sell for a decent amount, and I hope whoever buys them has fun with them. Quote
Lion King Posted July 18, 2023 Posted July 18, 2023 Still waiting on the lego advent calendar AND leaked info for winter wave. Winer wave usually get leaked in July or August in a few years. Quote
danth Posted July 18, 2023 Posted July 18, 2023 I wish there were more mid-priced sets in the Arctic/Ocean sub theme. There's one $11 set, then it jumps to $40, then to $75 and $110 and $160. I like the colors and the designs but the price for value isn't great unless you really want the molded animals or the huge boat pieces. Regardless I feel like we're missing a couple $20 sets, like a snowmobile and small sub. I'll probably get the $40 boat if it has no stickers. I love the sub, but I feel like it's $25 extra for the sharks, and then probably $20 worth of bricks in the shipwreck build that I just don't care about. If it was everything else for $65, it would be a slam dunk. Quote
Lion King Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 It looks like Winter Village set is rumored to be Winter Lodge. I think this set would be useful for our city layouts! but…no news on advent calendar yet. Quote

Or a hardware store. Or an electrical store (phones, video games, etc). Or a furniture store. Or a bookshop. Or a coffe shop. I think it’s enough wiht “or” lol… Quote

Aanchir Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 In addition to the stores mentioned by other folks: 60365 includes a convenience store/bodega 60203 from 2019 and 60366 from this year both include sporting goods/ski equipment stores 60380 includes a comic shop and an electronics/mobile phone store So all in all, I'm pretty optimistic that we'll see further diversification of LEGO City shops going forward. A lot of the ones that @Lion King mentioned would be great to see. A school/office supply store or florist/garden supply store would also be very new and different. And it would be neat to see a more substantial jeweler than the tiny 4+ storefront from 60241. Quote

I have seen 60380 downtown set, and is a blow of fresh air But they are very simple stores: one self, one rack or one counter It could be interesting if we could have more detailed/expanded stores with a lot of accesories like playmobil ones And being benevolent with prices (around 50€ each, and 150€ some in a set) Quote

Given City's recent track record of giving us buildings we never thought we'd see in the theme (i.e. school, grocery store, apartment building, etc), nothing would really surprise me at this point. Let's see what 2024 has to offer. Quote

If you furnish them too extensively, it becomes difficult for kids to reach inside to move figures and accessories around without knocking things over. Also, after skimming through the current Playmobil catalog, I can't help but notice a lot of the buildings have open roofs. LEGO employs a similar approach in a lot of Friends sets (particularly so that they can extend the depth of the building and include more furnishings while still giving kids plenty of room to reach inside), but it tends to be less common in the City theme. And particularly here on Eurobricks, City sets with open roofs (like 60329 and 60347, along with various 4+ sets) have received a lot of negative feedback for it. 5 hours ago, The Brick Boss said: Dude! Service business are ok for me also The problem is working with 5/6 studs deep (now with "the ship container" new units we gain 2 studs) but two levels or a hinge could help to create more detailed spaces The last city sets are modular, and if you detach it you are roof free But I'm agree thar new city sets are great, and also Friends and Creator buildings Edited July 27, 2023 by El Garfio Quote

You make a very good point about hinges, though! Quote
ks6349 Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 28% off for all Lego City sets here in a nearby shopping mall. What do you think? Is it a good time to get some City sets? 28% off of the original MSRP. Quote

jonwil Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 It depends on what country you are in and how good the deals normally are. Here in Australia 28% off City sets (the bigger sets at least) would definitely be a bargain worth jumping on. Quote
