Legoland is coming to Belgium.

By 2027, Legoland Park should open its doors on the former Caterpillar site in Gosselies, near Charleroi. To this end, a non-binding letter of intent was signed today by Merlin Entertainments (the owner of Legoland), Wallonia and the federal state.

The letter of intent is accompanied by an estimated investment of 370 to 400 million euros. In addition, more than a thousand new jobs will be created. However, in view of the current economic context, an exit option has been provided if the costs are too high. Legoland would be one of the largest investments of the past ten years in Wallonia.

A final decision is expected by the end of this year. The amusement park should then open its doors by 2027.

The Legoland park in Gosselies would thus become the fourth in Europe. There are already amusement parks in Denmark, Germany and the United Kingdom. The park in our country would aim for a visitor number of 1.5 to 2 million people per year
