Hello welcome to my topic, it's my first topic so i hope i do well. Well if you can have any 3 lego sets ever made which ones would you choose?

I'm sure many people will talk about wanting some rare Classic set.

But I don't actually value sets for their rare collector value, as I always open em up and Build Stuff.

I suppose I'd like to have

Explorien Starship 6982, since it comes with good parts, and a clear head android.

Hydronauts Search Sub 6180, for the green windscreens and control panels.

and some random Paradisa set? for the Female minifigs?

Definitely tough to choose only three... the decision boils down to variety versus maximum inter-usability (or some such word!).

I think I'll go with variety (in no particular order):

6085: Black Monarch's Castle (http://www.brickset.com/detail.aspx?Set=6085-1)

6973: Deep Freeze Defender (http://www.brickset.com/detail.aspx?Set=6973-1)

6276: Eldorado Fortress (http://www.brickset.com/detail.aspx?Set=6276-1)

Another interesting version of this survey would be to ask the same, but with the restriction that you could not select "large" sets; maybe nothing over $25 USD (original retail). Tough to really get the best bang for your buck with that sort of restriction

Oh no, this is actually quite hard to choose!

One of them definitely has to be a pirate ship... I think I'd go with Skull's Eye Schnooner. It's the best looking out of the bunch, with the best variety of minifigs.

The second one has to be a Harry Potter set. Most likely, it would be the second Hogwarts Castle.

The last one could be a number of things. A Star Wars set, an actual castle, a big Paradisa set or an Adventurers set...

Okay, I'll go with Jabba's Sail Barge.

Now, when do I get them?

Aargh, it's very hard to choose, but I'd probably have:

A large Ice Planet 2002 set

A large Dragon Masters set

That big Egyptian temple Adventurers set I never got when I maybe could have Or maybe this Amazon Adventurers set. Actually, any of the very big Adventurers sets I would love

Bet you can't guess what my favourite Lego decade, and favourite Lego theme is?

A nice monorail set, probably 6399 - Airport Shuttle or 6991 - Monorail Transport Base (or both )

A castle from the 80's, maybe 6081 - King's Mountain Fortress

And a pirate set, probably 6277 - Imperial Trading Post (I'd go for 6286 - Skull's Eye Schooner or 6285 - Black Seas Barracuda, if I didn't have it allready)

Maybe one of the administrators could change the title into "Your three favourite sets: pick wisely" or something similar. This would make the title clearer. I had no idea what I could expect when I clicked on it. Just a suggestion.

4512 Cargo Train. I have this one and chose it because it has all you need to start with 9V trains.

6399 Airport Shuttle (Don't have it.)

6990 Monorail Transport System (Don't have it.)

It's a tough quesiton, because there are 3 swaths of LEGO that I really regret missing. Early Classic Castle, Adventureres, Harry Potter (mostly the smaller interesting buildings) and ninja.

I'd have to say:

1) #7740: A legend in the Lego train world, Try to find this for less than $300.

2) #6285: I don't own any Pirate sets, WHY DID I NOT PICK THIS UP WHEN IT WAS RE-RELEASED?

3#6399: Who wouldn't want a monorail going around their town?

Hmm...I would have to say:

1) Ice Planet 2002, 6973 Deep Freeze Defender. Arguably the best LEGO spaceship ever.

2) Pirates, 6285 Black Seas Barracuda. What it lacks in power, it makes up for in style.

3) Western, 6769 Fort Legoredo. This set is made of WIN! And brown bricks.....lots of brown bricks...

The three sets I'd really like to buy as new sets (~ as a re-release/re-design ) since I regrettably don't own them are:

-6399 Airport Shuttle

-1490 LEGO Town Bank

-6683 Hamburger Stand

The third wish would actual be 6090 Royal Knight's Castle but I think that a re-design of it wouldn't be a good idea since firstly this set can't be made better (since it is perfect ) and secondly if you look at what TLG did as a "re-design" of it you can only .

10132 motorized Hogwart's Express

7163 Star Wars Republic gunship, yet for some reason I have no desire to get the upcoming clne wars gunship, I think it's the stickers and lack of bubbles, that and I'm not particularly into the figs that come with it

7979 The to be released castle advent calendar

After thinking a bit, and having the Airport Shuttle on my list as well, I go for these:

I don't own any Ninja yet and always wanted to start collecting, but misb sets are rather expensive.. And I don't own a HP set but I think this one is interesting for the parts and minifigs (don't even know the movie or book). And well, place one is WW, best theme ever and this the sweetest set ever besides Indians and Sheriffs Office that I own.
