If anyone is interested in a Pirate's Chess set I have one NISB I bought to get over the $200 free delivery threshold off S@H.

Will be happy with RRP. I live in Canberra if anyone wants to pick up. PM me.

Apparently the Target sale commences online at midnight! Although, I'm having trouble finding some of the Lego sets on their website, particularly Changing Seasons.

Got some working Target store links from another forum:

Also, Big W will be having 20% off the price of ALL toys from the 20th to the 26th July. Thats 20% off whatever the shelf tag says. And it includes any toys that may be in the Big W Drop Zone...

If anyone is interested, check your local newsagent, because two near me sell Blocks magazine. Also my local Big W has some of the cargo trains and 1 Sandcrawler.

Was price checking Target vs Big W sale and stumbled across Creator Mountain Hut 31025 on Big W for $16! Probably an error but take advantage while you can!

Managed to get to no less than 4 Big W stores today (Beenleigh, Loganholme, Garden City, Underwood) and no sign of any Mountain Huts, Changing Seasons, Cargo Trains, Simpsons Houses, Helicarriers or big Star Wars stuff. I do remember seeing a Sea Cow somewhere though (I think it might have been the Toys R Us at Garden City although I could be wrong)

I did see some of the Creator Monkey sets and various TLM sets (including the Double Decker Couch and the little Batman one). No city road plates or green baseplates spotted at any of the Big W stores although I did see a few grey and tan baseplates out there (not that I need more baseplates at this point, I got more than enough :)

Ended up with the Friends baby bunny set. Decided that if I didn't think the Blue Power Jet was good value in the Big W sale at $55, it clearly wasn't going to be better value at $60 and gave it a miss. (it does have a few nice parts in it but also a lot of stuff that's useless to me). Also decided (after looking at it a bit in another retailer) the Changing Seasons doesn't do it for me either, not enough in it I need. I may end up grabbing any interesting parts from Bricks & Pieces when I order from Shop @ Home to get my Big Bang Theory (I just wish it was easier to browse B&P :( )

Also ended up with yet more plastic storage to help me organize my collection (and make it easier to find things without spending 1/2 hour or more looking through a big box of unrelated stuff)

I've managed to grab 2 yesterday for $25.6 (12.8 each) but heard the manager saying they're going to report the price difference.

Yep tru garden city had the sea cow. Those mountain huts went fast.

Did anyone else's Target do a VIP opening an hour before opening? I was very lucky to get the only Ewok Village they had left in the back after I asked about where they all were, since the TIE and the Tumbler were on shelf at opening but no EV.

Does anyone have any tips for buying large, expensive (e.g. retired Modulars) Lego sets from resellers?

How do you ensure, if collecting the Lego sets in person, that the contents of the box correspond to what is pictured on the box? Do you open the boxes and go through the contents? Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

Same, 7am opening, but Brisbane stores were raided today by a reseller of all tumblers and tie fighters. Was able to pick up an ewok set. Target will do raincheck for tie but not tumbler.

Star Wars Rebels Ghost is now available from Target for more than 50% off RRP at $64. That's my oldest son's Xmas sorted!

Has anyone seen any Hulkbuster Smash sets on the shelves lately?

Checking the Gold Coast around the Southport and Broadbeach areas, there are nooooone, and haven't been for ages.

Haven't seen any smash labs in Brisbane stores for ages. I've been looking for that specific set too.

I Haven't seen the Hulkbuster set in any stores either but if I see one, I will let people know.

The Hulk Lab Smash set from 2014 is long gone.

Saw 4 Hulkbuster sets at Big W on the Sunshine Coast, for $45 this afternoon.

Yeah I saw this the other day at brickingaround but thanks for posting. Target online sold out of these pretty quick but I picked one up in store today. If anyone wants to know of a store in Sydney with plenty of stock PM me. I doubt they'll be scalper bait because they seem like they'd be pretty hard to move but you never know...

This is the first time I've bought a set just for parts. At 929 pieces that's less than 7 cents a piece.

Not as good as people scoring a mountain hut for 16 dollars. Big W hahaha haha ha haha haha hahaha you're hilarious.

For those in QLD, Helensvale has the Tie, Ewok and Changing Seasons. No tumblers though.

Don't remember if there were any Ghosts or not.

Who has the cheapest deal right now on the 60060 Auto Transporter or the 60081 Pickup Tow Truck?

FYI, if anyone is wanting the Ant Man set, brickingaround.com found out (from LEGO) that it will NOT be hitting local retail (which is final confirmation of what we already knew). If you want one, shop @ home is the best place to get one (I might pick one up alongside my Big Bang Theory as part of the stuff I buy to hit the free shipping threshold)

Jaysbrickblog when reporting the news mentioned a couple of alternatives to buying from s@h (because expensive shipping, high threshold etc) for Australians.

Barnes & Noble are fine, I've used them before.

Shopforme are also fine, but $10 above RRP. I'm not sure of postage, free if you spend $150 though.

A couple of my own for those that are interested:

Amazon.co.uk are temporarily out of stock but price is £16.78, £13.98 once you remove VAT for non EU customers ie Australians. Standard shipping is £12.11 so might be only worth pursuing if you have a larger order.

Zavvi have it for £17.99, plus standard worldwide shipping is about £1. I've used Zavvi before but I don't think it was for lego. Shipping can be 2 to 4 weeks or anything in between, just know it won't come fast. And it's under 'TheHut Group' of UK online retailers so customer service can be pretty ordinary from my own and many others experience. They also tend to send most things in mailer bags so caveat emptor.

It would probably be best to go with s@h as long as you have a bulk order.

I can't believe I've spent so many words on a set I have no interest in, but you know, helping others :)

Question: are Australian customers that use s@h charged in AUD? Or is there a currency conversion?

My bank statement lists the same as the checkout price, in AUD. The invoice or confirmation from TLG, however, shows DKK.

I might pick up the Ant Man set alongside my Big Bang Theory set to help hit the $200 free shipping threshold...

I am sure there will be other things worth picking up as well :)

Thanks. The reason I ask is I dont want to be stung by further currency conversion charges by my bank. It can add up when it's a few hunderd dollars.
