lightningtiger Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Dam this TXT-nation, you are so right 'Siegfried' what happen to english ? Anyway, I could give it a go I guess, but dollars and cents are a bit tight at the moment sadly, their layby fee of $6.50 really is pain though. I'm a conformist! !
DarthSion Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Got me a tie defender for 75 during the target 20% off sale.
MicroM Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Tried Myer for the 20% off this morning. Got told it's not in addition to the sale prices. But I'm sure some of you will have better luck than me, cause one thing you can guarantee with Myer is that they are inconsistent!!!
marvinblue Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Getting back to the 10197 sub-theme I picked one up from Knox City TRU for the standard price yesterday. So, if you're in Melbourne and waiting for this set, make phoning them or dropping in in-person your priority today!! (There's none left at Knox City - I got the last one).
dotmike Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Getting back to the 10197 sub-theme I picked one up from Knox City TRU for the standard price yesterday. So, if you're in Melbourne and waiting for this set, make phoning them or dropping in in-person your priority today!! (There's none left at Knox City - I got the last one). Good stuff! I also picked up one: from TRU Miranda (Sydney), they had four when I was there during the week. I also had to pay $250. The funny thing is, I actually saw the excellent tip above where you could get 20% off on Easter Saturday or Sunday to bring it to only $200. I read the post on Saturday at about 4:30 pm, while on the highway (I was browsing while my SO was driving). After looking at the TRU site to confirm (as suspected) all the Toys 'r' Us stores in Sydney were closed on Sunday, I pulled up Google Maps to find the nearest to where we were, which was Wollongong, about 25 mins away. I was *this* close to suggesting we make a detour via the Wollongong CBD to make the purchase, with 5 mins to park and find the store! But didn't... Oh well, at least $250 is still lower than the $299.99 it's listed at on S@H.
Mr McGow Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Thankyou for the Harry Potter pricelist hewman. The ones I want come to about $420 - by twisted fate the same as my car rego, due at the same time A question if I may. Will these sets go on special around x-mas? Or will there be sales before then? Or is it one of things you can't predict? Also, (sorry I know that's 4 questions), when do we usually get a heads up on the big K-Mart mid year set (e.g Death star, UCS Falcon etc.)? Thanks and hello all you fellow Aussie's.
booga-b Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Was able to snap up the Apple tree house for $43 at Myers. 20% off on top of the $54. Looking at that post I could swear you're not a native English speaker. Please try a bit harder to use more actual words in future. hahaha yeah ur right, I'm not. I didn't know you were the grammar police. Decided to keep it short and concise. Young ppl are like that these days.
Siegfried Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 hahaha yeah ur right, I'm not. I didn't know you were the grammar police. Decided to keep it short and concise. Young ppl are like that these days. Wonderful. The problem is you're almost always doing it. We can tollerate it if you keep it to a minimum, but please realise that stuff like... Uve ur u urs fav rekn ull prob ...are not words. Posting like this might save time for you, but it makes it hard for others to read. Remember that Eurobricks is an international site aimed at adults and it's not a chat board or a phone. For these reasons we have English and grammar standards so members who are not native English speakers can take part and even better their English skill while they visit. So I'm asking you nicely to cut down on the abbreviations and use more actual words. If that makes me the grammar police then, yes, that's me.
booga-b Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 haha I'm truly honoured that you read through all my posts. I decided to keep it colloquial since I'm posting in the "Aussie Sales" section. I'm sure there are other stuffs around here that you can pick on. Oh! By the way, it's spelt "Tolerate".
Siegfried Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Oh! By the way, it's spelt "Tolerate". Indeed. I was rushing to make that post as my wife was calling me. Besides, I never asked for perfection. I'm going to speak to you about this privately.
Whittleberry Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Those prices are quite fair IMO, and what I expected. Although seeing them there is starting to make me wonder how I'm going to afford all of them...there's just so many excellent second-half-2010 sets! What with the unpredictable sales that are around here these days, where one pays RRP one day and 30% off the next, I guess I'll just wait until there's a dramatic sale, unless there's a danger of missing a set completely. hahaha yeah ur right, I'm not. I didn't know you were the grammar police. Decided to keep it short and concise. Young ppl are like that these days. Look mister, I can guarantee I'm younger than you, and to be perfectly frank your 13375P34K is just pissing me off. I'm against the degradation of the English language because I'm proud to speak it. I'll tolerate Sieggy's typo because he didn't mean to do it, but your babble is something you could fix easily and it wouldn't take you all that much longer.
chibi_joker Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 No fun sale news unfortunately but eBay find story. I got a pre-loved 5978 Sphynx Secret Surprise. I gave it a good wash over the weekend and most of it were in good condition - except that poor Pharaoh Hotep is missing his proper pants and I threw out one of the piece because it was really damaged, when I realised the seller actually gave me extra pieces from another set too! Very happy to get a raised baseplate, lots of printed pieces and fun mini-fig Hmmmm....the quest to find Pharaoh Hotep his proper pants begins!
MinifigHQ Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 BigW sale starts Thursday 15th April and ends Wednesday 21st April *Link*

eli_77 Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Rang Lego Australia today and heard some disappointing news: Prince of Persia is not going to be available in stores until MAY :( Does anyone know of any online Lego retailers from the US that ship to Australia? The exchange rate is so high at the moment!
lightningtiger Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Big W - eh ? The limo and copter pack at $ 31 bucks - SCORE ! There must be an airport overload, as Myer and BigW will at the same time have it for roughly the same price - maybe they are not selling as well as Lego hoped. I'm a conformist! !

But yea worth a try.

You could preorder an unopened carton of 120 packets of the minifig exclusive release to come out in June for just over $2 per fig, but I'm not too sure I want to shop at a place that so clearly is willing to break the law with this statement when you go to checkout: If you are an international customer would you like all orders declared as gifts? The law has changed in respects to the "gifts", all gifts that are declared as > $1000 will incur GST + Duty. - http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page5549.asp So that above statement doesnt apply. Dont forget to add postage. Becomes approx $USD2.8 per fig. Still pretty cheap. ~$AUD3.2 per fig landed. Im thinking of getting it , but anyone know if these will be released here in Australia?

Kmart and Target are supposedly stocking these from next month. ( From Lego Australia and the info hasn't changed since last year)
lightningtiger Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 The word from Lego Australia is that the minifig bags were shipped out in MARCH to TARGET, TOYWORLD and TRU ! It appears they are being held in their warehouses for a later date (that's what I think anyway). PoP is in May (hopefully) - I'm a conformist! !

Hewman Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 (edited) Thanks for that info lightningtiger!Lets raid the warehouses! Sounds like a good idea, we can leave cash payment and save them the hassle of shipping. Tonight I'm going to have dreams of thousands of minifigs in warehouses I think. Edit: This might be a good place where we can trade doubles of different figs to each other. I know a couple of the popular figs are ones that don't interest me, so I'm happy to swap for something I want. Edited April 13, 2010 by hewman

Its a good idea to come up with an Aussie trade thread rather than have it lost amongst the sales topic. I suggest each person post what they have and what they are after once the figs are for sale in Aus. Lets face it, most of us wont swap for other stuff, we all want to complete the set, or to stock up on particular figs. Forestmen and Cowboys on!
Siegfried Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Its a good idea to come up with an Aussie trade thread rather than have it lost amongst the sales topic. Yes, I'd prefer this too.
