Hewman Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 (edited) Hey guys, I wnt to grab a Battle of Endor and was wondering if anyone can advise me.Its at my local toyworld for 200$..but is still in the big w's,kmarts, etc? I havent seen it but then i might not be looking in the right places.. thanks! That's actually a Toyworld exclusive set. You can probably get it cheaper including shipping from the US (only $99 RRP there plus strong Aus $). But if you'd prefer not to use ebay or bricklink (although I think an Aus seller I know is getting one in which he'd charge well under $200 for but shipping would depend on where you live) your local toyworld is the best option. In other news, Adelaide toys r us had all the PoP sets, and remarkably they were at RRP, so I finally got the ostrich set for $22.50 after the 25% discount. They also had a bunch of fire stations for $300 before discount. They were all out of the x-wings they had the other day though. Edited May 13, 2010 by hewman
lightningtiger Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 The other day Gepps Cross and today Tea Tree Plus TRU's had stocks - though low of the X-wing ! I'm a conformist! everyone !
melike75 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Thanks whup and hewman - handy to know so i didnt waste time chasing it down elsewhere. With 3 kids under 6 dont have much time... :) Hewman could you send me the details regarding your guy. I live in Perth so he's prob on the other side of the country.. I could get it on ebay for around 180..but man, id have to wait a few weeks,i want it now :P Prett new to LEGO (as an adult anywy)so not too familiar with bricklink.. Guess i'll try Toys R us for 25% off POP tomorrow..whats the bet Cannington dont have em..
GI blockage Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Hey guys, I wnt to grab a Battle of Endor and was wondering if anyone can advise me.Its at my local toyworld for 200$..but is still in the big w's,kmarts, etc? I havent seen it but then i might not be looking in the right places.. thanks! I saw Battle of Endor on the shelves at Myer Sydney city today. $200. So there's a good chance you'll see it somewhere on sale soon. They also had a small number of all the PoP sets, and they were setting up a little display cabinet with the aeronautically themed sets (I saw them attacking road plates with scissors! The horror!)
I Scream Clone Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 They were all out of the x-wings they had the other day though. I love that they are still producing this great set, its a real license to print money (usually on eBay though). I remember chasing it over a year ago and TLC said we have no plans to produce anymore, yet it just keeps on keeping on I saw Battle of Endor on the shelves at Myer Sydney city today. $200. So there's a good chance you'll see it somewhere on sale soon. They also had a small number of all the PoP sets, and they were setting up a little display cabinet with the aeronautically themed sets (I saw them attacking road plates with scissors! The horror!) Well, this is indeed good news if Endor has finally started to show up at shops other than Toyworld! Hang out for the 20-30% off sales or get it in US (like me) My Target had 20% of Lego as reported earlier and actually had PoP much to my surprise. I managed to score the smallest set for only $13.40 (17 after sale) They seem to have taken $1 of most of the RRPs for the mid sized sets as well. I didn't look closely at the larger sets due to kids all over me.
WetWired Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 For those in Brisbane after the Fire Brigade and not willing to pay the $300 I did for it just last week... ToysRUs Mt Gravatt has 4 of them, RRP $250 but $187.50 after the 25% off... I'm gonna go into a corner and cry now :(
Turtle Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Just out of curiosity, does anyone know when 7566 Farmer or 7684 Pig Farm & Tractor are hitting our shelves? It seems like ages since these were first announced...

I'm gonna go into a corner and cry now :( Don't feel too bad, in Adelaide at least, there were signs saying discount is off full priced sets only, so you may not have missed out quite as badly as you thought. And on an even more positive note, you do have a gorgeous set in your collection now. Target Newton (SA) had the PoP sets, and regular prices of some being below retail was a pleasant surprise.

Just over $50 for an X-Wing (after 25% off) is pretty darn good if you ask me... Edited May 13, 2010 by Whup
melike75 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Would anyone be willing to buy me a fire brigade from toys'r'us? i'll pay postage of course pus a bonus for your efforts! (dont get too excited, i dont have THAT much money) Im going to Cannington TRU today but i dont recall ever seeing them there before..can you organise an interstore transfer i wonder?
emilyjem Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 LEGO have added LEGO Minifigures in the Australian S@H here. $3.99 each. Surely we will see some in a store soon?
Svelte Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 $AUD4 is a complete rip-off. And it doesn't look like there's an option to buy a box where at least you are guaranteed to get 4 full sets either Here's a quick price convert from other currencies 2EUR - $AUD2.80 2GBP - $AUD3.27 4NZ- $3.18 20SDKK - $3.76 25SEK - $3.66 They must be pricier here than almost any other country in the world With no Toyworld anywhere near me and rip-off prices, I think I'll be going with the BBTS option. Thanks for the news! Also, the 10213 Shuttle is up at $160. Another unjustified markup over MMV and Emerald Night.
Siegfried Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 $AUD4 is a complete rip-off. Yes. I'll probably be skipping them at that price... but I've said that before. Also, the 10213 Shuttle is up at $160. Another unjustified markup over MMV and Emerald Night. Yeah, I posted about that elsewhere. I consider that price OK, but certainly not good. But 160 for 1204 pieces is better than average.
d00dz Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 (edited) $160 for the shuttle is not bad + $45 postage max. Concidering it's $99 in USD + tax + shipping. The mini fig on the other hand are expensive. Most likely (I hope Kmart would have them cheaper, assuming they are getting it) lol if you just want to buy one minifig shipping is $25! Edited May 14, 2010 by d00dz

(dont get too excited, i dont have THAT much money)Im going to Cannington TRU today but i dont recall ever seeing them there before..can you organise an interstore transfer i wonder? Cannnington TRU had them, that's where I got mine. Not sure if they have any left though. If they have none ask them to call Morley and Joondalup for you. Target Australia has CONFIRMED they will be stocking the Lego Minifig's 8683 in the next few weeks Stock should arrive at Target DC on the 17/5 and then be distributed to stores, and a little cheaper at $3.75 but if they have a sale they might be cheaper.

Thanks for that! I might go into Target and see how many I can get with some vouchers I have. The excitement of not knowing what is in each packet! Woooooo Hope I save the cheerleader!

WooooooHope I save the cheerleader! That's good news, it's much easier to spend time at my local Target checking barcodes than doing it at Toyworld (and I'd be betting my toyworld will be trying to sell them for $5 anyway)
emilyjem Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Great news indeed about Target & minifigs. Maybe the 20% off sale will still be on then? It is going till the 26 May I think. Thanks for that.
melike75 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 (edited) Theyy did have them! 25% off! woo ;D edit - fire brigade at tru i meant.. Also got the big POP set..not sure what its called. Target at Cannington had no POP's though.. Edited May 14, 2010 by melike75
lightningtiger Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 It's TRU which has the 25% off - anyway just picked up 7570 PoP set for $23.20 at Target 20% off sale - that will keep my son happy - more animals and minifigs for him to customized himself. I'm a conformist! everyone !
DarthSion Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Thanks for the heads up on the target, got me the freeco and arc.
hawkyboy4 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 LEGO Shop At Home has LEGO Minifigures for sale now, $3.99, so I'm waiting for them to hit the shelves at Big W (usually the best prices) Or I may have to go to Target as they might not end up at Big W.
jonwil Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 If Target gets stock before the 20% off sale finishes, that would be the best bet IMO. I have no idea though where in the store Target will keep them (where do Target normally keep such small collectible things?) or how hard it will be to sit there checking the bar-codes without Target people getting annoyed at you (I for one intend to use the "feel the bag" method as I think its fairer than the bar-codes)
Strand Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Thanks for that! I might go into Target and see how many I can get with some vouchers I have. The excitement of not knowing what is in each packet! WooooooHope I save the cheerleader! I disagree. Blind-packed toys can be EXTREMELY annoying and often bring out the worst in people. A few years ago, every time HotWheels ran a blind packed car series, I'd see ripped-open packages in every Kmart. Same thing happened when I got into those mini star wars busts and found tonnes of opened and dumped sets in-store. Sometimes they wouldn't even have the decency to purchase the 'desirable' ones they found and just outright stole them.
xNick Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 In regards to the minifigs I think Kmart/Big W/Target etc will keep them at the registers, otherwise there will be too much risk of theft. 20% off + 5% team member discount from the girlfriend = buying a box for me :)
