chibi_joker Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Can anyone enlighten me to what this "Barcode Method" is? Flicked through a few pages with no luck You can thank these awesome guys: http://bricks.inof.de/docs/minifig-barcodes/ BTW, the barcode method may not be 100% if like me, you get a headache after say 10 bags. It is very accurate but you have to be patient....not really my strong point My fav so far are the cheerleader, the forestman and the American Indian I thought I would love the ninja but I think quality is not as good as the old one, a bit disappointed. There's something strange about the emo kid's hair too
chibi_joker Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Thanks for the feedback, I will take it on board. I guess local LEGO news is the main area I'm lacking in, as I'm based in Sydney, so any news or info from other states and towns would be awesome. Just drop me a line if you're interested. But more importantly - MINIFIGS! Has anyone seen them at a non-Toyworld location? I checked Target, K-Mart and Toys R Us today, no luck. Could it be that Toyworld really do have an exclusive? Hi emilyjem, I haven't read the forum in a few day, fantastic job in putting together a blog for Aussie Lego news! If you look at my posts, minifigs are being sold at Toyworld and Target in Victoria so I'm sure it's going to pop up in Target in Sydney soon On that note, I can't find in the posts again, someone mentioned Grand Emporium coming out as DJ exclusive in June? Can someone please confirm so I know when I should start haunting DJ (but not be suck in and buy more heels from them)? Because chibi_joker @ Grand Emporium...must have it, must have it, must have it.

Maverick Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Hi everyone,I can confirm that minifigs are now being sighted in Victoria at Toyworld and Target. Went to Target City today after work and there was me and three other AFOLs (who I did not actually know) spending half an hour sorting through the boxes with our barcodes sheets! It was fun because we were all looking for different things and helped each other out. Target was taking down the 20% off sign, but they were willing to give the 20% off. Super lucky! My friend bought an unopened box at another Target store. But I would like to share this with you. Here's Lego Quality Assurance FAIL for my forestmen, can you see what is different? Sorry quality is from iPhone, my camera is AWOL. Lego Quality Assurance FAIL! Hi Chibi. That was me last night got my beautiful collection last nite at Target with you. and yes In my Magician pack I got an extra black hair peice which I think was very weird. All minifig packs seem to be made in china while standard lego sets are from Denmark. Maybe thats why its different?
Hewman Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 It looks like the Endor set is making it to a lot of Myer stores now, saw them in Adelaide Myer, now we just need a 20% off sale, which now with the Aussie $ falling wouldn't be that bad a buy compared to importing from the US. I haven't seen any collectible figs in Targets, also the sale is definitely over even though their price cards were saying to remove on the 26th.
Hewman Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Myer 25% off toysThis weekend only d00dz, thanks a million, or 25% off a million. I imagine those Endor sets won't last long.
Whup Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Just drove down to visit the Laygo Shop and it was closed for lunch! Nevermind, it looked like a really nice store; nice and bright and clean with all the Lego neatly arranged. Kind of how I imagine the official Lego stores must look. I could even see the minifigs on the counter, but couldn't actually buy any...
Notorious Guf Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Just saw a Toy Story 3 Set at TRU. The one with the big green truck. The Truck looked great, just too big for a normal city scene I think. Didn't see a price nor did I bother to ask. Has anyone seen the Lego Minifigs in TRU? They didn't have any there.

Notorious Guf Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Oh and I also have a Lego Eiffel Tower in a sealed unopened box for sale for anyone in the Sydney area. I don't particularly want to post it, so pick up or I can personally deliver it also. Pick up price is $500 firm...
Whup Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I am sooo sorry talk about bad timing. Thaks heaps for the compliments though much appreciated Steve No worries at all! I'd said earlier on in the thread that I'd definitely check it out this week, I wouldn't want you to think I'd gone back on my word. I reckon you've dine a really neat job of the place though! Are you selling the collectable minifigs at RRP?

Hewman Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Just saw a great deal via the bricklink forum, Barnes and Noble have 30% off a single item with this code Y3V4U3X. And they take it off the most expensive item! Looks like they ship interntionally and shipping is not too shabby. I added the battle of alamut and an unavailable in Aus space police smash and grab set and it came to just over $94 US, if only the Aus $ didn't drop in the past few days it'd be even better. They have all the new fire sets, so if you're after then I'd go for it. Oh their address is www.bn.com
Maverick Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Well I can confirm the Target sale has ended as a collegue went down and 20% was not available even though the stickers said may 26th end..
Notorious Guf Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Well I can confirm the Target sale has ended as a collegue went down and 20% was not available even though the stickers said may 26th end.. Where exactly was this sale advertised? Surely if it had a printed date of some sort there should be proof of this either via a catalogue or newspaper? If anyone has a copy or proof I'd love to see or have a copy. I just bought an unopened box of the Minifigs, so there should be a few sets in there for me...

Hi Maverick, Awesome to meet a fellow AFOL in real life and glad to hear you got what you're after One of the AFOLS may have been Sue Ann Barber the MUGS (Melbourne lego users group) Lego Ambasador. She went to Target in the city yesterday to buy figs. The minifigs hunt is bringing out all the Melbournian AFOLs!!
frumpy Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Got half a box from Target in Blacktown today. It was the last they had. Ended up with everything except the zombie and cheerleader. Happy to swap and trade if anyone is interested. Have spare Clowns, Cowboys, Astronauts, Scuba divers and Nurses.
Noodles140 Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 After randomly grabbing 10 bags from the Toyworld Balcatta (WA, $3.99 each) this afternoon I scored: 1 x Robin Hood, Robot (awesome), Dummy, Clown, Ninja, Caveman 2 x Magician, Diver Halfway to collecting the set. Very happy although I would have loved finding several Spacemen and more Robots. -Noodles
Svelte Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Went to all LEGO-selling stores in Sydney CBD and Bondi Junction today - nothing! (No Endors either.)
peterab Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Went to all LEGO-selling stores in Sydney CBD and Bondi Junction today - nothing! (No Endors either.) You should get on the SLTC mailing list, it's on yahoo groups. They've been giving a running commentary on where they've found minifigs (and Endor) for the past week. They've recently split into two groups, a small one focused on trains SLGG and SLTC is changing its name to SydLUG and broadening to include all AFOLs. Even if you dont want to attend, the list can be usefull in that you know where to look and where has been cleaned out. The MUGS source has suggested that most Toyworlds were initially stocked with 2 boxes, for a catalogue sale but will get more later. Another rumour floating around is that Targets will only stock the minifigs after they have completed their stocktakes which they are apparently currently in the middle of, thus we only see figs at some Targets at the moment. Peter
YG-49 Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Oh - I forgot; My local Toyworld still doesn't have the minifigs, but she said mid next week, (Which I'll inconveniently be away for. ) and she also said they'll be doing a deal: 3 minifigs for $10!
melike75 Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Bought an endor set at Myer, Garden city today, 25% off. :)
