For anyone interested, MailOrderExpress has 10% off all LEGO. Still quite high prices, due to the exchange rate the moment. :hmpf_bad: Though the Alamut Fort is only $110. (not sure whether that's the price in the local stores)

Just a couple words about this site, make sure you tick that you don't have to pay UK tax, it saves a lot, however it's more than made up for with the very expensive postage.

In other news, I've just been to Toys R Us Adelaide, there were plenty of the modular fire stations, so hopefully there'll still be plenty available on the weekend when you can get 20% off. They had no swamp speeders even though they're in the catalogue, and no place on the shelf for them either. No collectible minifigs but plenty of $4.99 impulse sets from last year. Not much else new there but they seemed to have a full range of toy story sets including duplo.

Just been to Toys R Us Moore Park (Sydney). 4 Fire Stations on the shelves. I am seriously considering getting one this weekend if there are any left!

And despite what it said in the catalogue about "more LEGO deals in store", I didn't see any extra specials. Plenty of Toy Story 3, a gazillion of the impulse street sweeper, no sign of any of the newest sets that are in Toyworlds. My kingdom for a Kingdom impulse set! Anyone seen any?

From hewman's tip a few weeks ago, I got my first package from the Barnes and Noble 30% off one item deal. Packed properly in a sturdy box and with the $US13 shipping for 1 item, the Fire Station set me back around $AUD85-90 (when the exchange rate was about 1.2~) which isn't at all bad.

Thanks hewman! :sweet:

Honestly, you can't beat their shipping rates. Let's hope they don't find they'remaking a loss and stop sending overseas packages. Whilst their selection is limited, when the Star Wars sets come out they will be attractively priced from B&N if another big sale comes along (or even a 15% one which don't seem uncommon on the site)

I just opened the three new Impulses (Jester, Wizard, Farmer) and put them on my desk  (via S@H, not from stores). For $5 each it's kind of a sweet deal - three figs, and three animals (dog, pig, baby dragon), plus all the accessories. All you have to do is change the Farmer for something medieval to get an instant $15 add on for MMV! Brilliant!

Glad to be of service! If I didn't already have one I would have got the Battle of Alamut set there (I was even tempted to get a second), which I bought due to someone's fantastic MOCs with parts of it (cough Svelte). The other thing is with toys that are in their top 100 for sales at BN you always get 10% off. Now if they only stocked the Death Star which it's taken me two years to decide I really wanted, I'd be in heaven.

I'm not sure if I can wait until September for those kingdoms impulse sets, they look like the two best impulses ever to me.

They have at Parafield Toyworld just one box received today of minifigs, plus they have sold out of Kingdom's Kings Castle (mimes on layby there) and passenger train even before the sale begins sounds very much like usual eh ?

Only the two Atlantis and the city traveller impulse packs are new at TRU - but I'll check tomorrow again at Gepps Cross.

Does anyone know where i can still buy the eiffel tower?

If you are in Sydney, a Eurobricks member (Notorious guf) is trying to sell one for $500 firm, that he's happy to deliver for free in Sydney metro area. He says he doesn't want to post but maybe he'd reconsider if you're happy to have it deboxed or even shipped in say two lots to reduce size. All you can do is ask. He posted his email address:

mc_guf@hotmail.com

I hope you can get it.

Cheers

Thanks Hewman for the promotion :D

Please email me if you are interested. mc_guf@hotmail.com

Picked up a 5973 Hyperspeed Pursuit from Toys 'R' Us Knox City for $59.99AUD ($20 off that specific model, actually).

I think David Jones also has 25% all toys atm too.

This isn't the case in Adelaide at least. There were a few toy story, power miners and technic sets with 30%+ discounts there but no general toy discount.

I have some SAD news, according to Lego Australia yesterday morning - set number 7566 farmer impulse will NOT be comming to Australia ! :cry_sad:

Dam it !

It's not on the list for 2010 at all !

Plus the TRU public transport exclusive is slated for September release, TRU told me sometime in August a little while back by email.

I'm a conformist! !

I don't suppose you've come across a Flagship in Adelaide yet, Lightningtiger? You seem to have a pretty good grip on what's available here

Thats bad news about the Pig Farmer impulse, maybe someone like bttw.com.au (they always seem to have things in stock that they could not have bought from LEGO Australia like the and had to have bought from somewhere else) will get some in stock.

Or maybe the set will appear across the pond in NZ (with people buying from someone over there)

EDIT: I have sent a message to bttw.com.au to see if they have anything to say about whether they will or wont be getting stock (its clear from their site they have things that do not come from LEGO Australia) and will report here if they have anything to say.

Also if someone has a contact at LEGO Australia, can they find out if/when the LEGO creator set 5867 Super Speedster is going to hit Australia? (Its already available across the pond in NZ)

Oh no, we're not getting the pig farmer impulse pack? I was looking forward to that one so much! I want some pigs for my LEGO farm, why can't Australians have pigs too? I can't even find the pig farm anywhere, so I was really going to have to rely on the impulse pack to get some pigs.

It isn't listed in the dealer catalogue for 2010 so Im guessing it wont be coming over. The 3 creator sets offroad power and sonic boom and ferocious creatures will be a general release in sept.

For those in Perth, as of today (Saturday) MYER in Morley had the following on the shelf:

New blue Lamborghini Police Car (8214)

All the new Space Police (including the base)

The Endor set

The Fire Brigade

The Imperial Flagship

The new train station (no other new trains though)

Plus the 3 TS3 sets (trash compactor, dump truck and train). It looks like the pizza planet truck is currently exclusive to Toyworld.

How much was the garbage truck?

The Pizza Planet truck was at my local Kmart..

I have only seen the garbage truck at TRU (seems to be an exclusive). The yellow dump truck, train and trash compactor are the only TS3 sets I saw at MYER.

Bricks To The World said this about the pig farmer impulse:

"These should be in stock in approx 2 weeks time, if you like we can email

you as soon as they arrive."

So either LEGO Australia IS getting stock or BTTW has done a special order from some other source (something they seem to do with a bunch of sets they have on their site like the Architecture sets). No idea on price (the email I got didnt say)

Either way, it means people wont need to do a Shop @ Home order (or a Bricklink order) to get their pigs :)

I have one for sale I can send to you from Sydney. Myer are not allowed to have them out for another 2 weeks when their toy sale starts, so you will struggle to find it. The ones that had them out have mostly sold them.

Thanks very much, I appreciate the offer!

I'm hoping that if I walk into the local myer with my newborn baby girl in my arms I might be able to convince them to set one aside, but I'll have to see how I go.

If that falls through I might come back begging
