Also for those who want a Flagship in Adelaide, just wait a week for the sale (when I am sure someone will have stock on the shelves) or do what I do and call every MYER store in the city to see if anyone has stock. There were about 35 when I arrived, when I left there were 5. Upon arrival at home, I opened them and had the following: 3 tribal hunters, 1 cheerleader, 1 caveman, 1 clown, 3 zombies, 0 skaters, 3 robots, 2 crash-test dummies, 2 magicians, 3 wrestlers, 1 nurse, 3 ninjas, 2 spacemen, 3 forestmen, 1 diver and one cowboy. While there, I checked the other shelves of LEGO and found not much, just the new stuff that's out everywhere. I considered purchasing a second PoP Ambush set, but was so swept up in the minifigures, I completely forgot.
Belchher Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Has anybody noticed the PF rechargeable battery in their travels? They're expensive, but then so are regular rechargeable batteries. I don't recall seeing them anywhere yet, and as always would prefer to avoid having to pay shipping costs.

I'd be surprised, given Just Bricks has it for $119.95 + 9.95 postage, guess I'll keep looking given that still works out to a massive $5 more than S@H lol. As always I guess there's the option of buying a handful of stuff from S@H in one hit to get the best postage cost for dollar spent I can...blah, wish TLG would just put some Lego stores in Australia already. PAB wall in Brisbane would make life so much easier.

You'll note that it's more expensive than S@H. My guess is they ordered it from S@H, just so they could stock it. Having stock of otherwise locally unavailable items attracts people to the store. Buyers are likely to buy more than one item, so they hope to make an average profit of greater than the 20% markup on the battery. The only place I think it's at all likely to find the battery in normal retails stores at the moment is Moore Educational, but I wouldn't bet on even that. Edited June 20, 2010 by peterab

Target maybe early release of Cad Bane's Speeder, I might ask next week when the trucks start rolling in. I'm a conformist! !

If the Landspeeder arrives at Big W before the sale starts on 1 July then it might be worth picking one up as I expect it will be very popular. I think I'll have to buy a few if I can. -Noodles

I can't remember from last year, how quick they were in getting them out. I was hoping to see it on the weekend, alas not to be. I did see one in store and asked to have a peek, but one of the sales ladies almost bit my head off (some sales people can be really defensive) and quickly squirreld it away.

I'm a conformist! !

jonwil Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Per the catalog I am looking at right now, the Pig Farm IS marked with an "only at Big W" stamp, as is the red creator sports car (which explains why it isn't in the retailers catalog as mentioned by someone else earlier in the thread) and the Luke Speeder and the 5508 brick bucket. Now all we need to see is what new product K-Mart is getting in :) I can already tell my wallet is going to take a hit (from BigW alone I want the red sports car plus anything they have at a good discount price)
Belchher Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I asked at a couple of Myers stores today re catalogs ( and stock :P ) and was told they where due out tomorrow or weds, guess they're a bit behind this year. Sadly all they could tell me, as far as their Lego stocks went, was that they'd had over 7 pallets of toys at each store, along with those displays the toy reps where setting up themselves ( Lego being one of these ), so they had little clue what they actually had yet ( apparently a fair bit isn't going to be put on shelves until weds after close, ready for the sale on thurs). They DID however confirm that the catalog showed they should have the Cargo Train, the big imperial ship, and the Emerald Night ( that one they knew they actually had in stock ).

I'd pop into your closest on Thursday if you get a chance and see if you can score it for 20% off if it is in fact there.

I think I remember seeing something about that but I couldn't find it anywhere except Toyworld. I'll go have a look when I can or give them a call.

Also the 7598 Pizza Planet Truck, is that only at TRU? The Endor set has been seen im Myer stores around Australia so Toyworld can't call it an Exclusive! It may be an exclusive for 3 months or so but you can hunt around and easily find it in Myer stores depending on where you live. The K-Mart exclusive you ask for should be the Tantive IV set 10198 so lets hope that comes true. As for the Myer catalogue, you'll like some of the prices, better then you'd think but most of the other sets they have advertised aren't anything to write home about. It shall all be revealed soon.
