jonwil Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Damn, from the sounds of it my only hope for a City Fire Station is to buy from Shop @ Home or find a way to do a deal with someone across the pond in NZ :( (or wait months until it finally hits shelves)
lightningtiger Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Kmart can not tell anyone what's comming up, customer service are useless. I'm a conformist! !
Clone-Trooper Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Kmart can not tell anyone what's comming up, customer service are useless. I'm a conformist! ! K-Mart maybe useless, but Lego reps are extremely friendly and sometimes informative.
Hewman Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 K-Mart maybe useless, but Lego reps are extremely friendly and sometimes informative. I just received an email from k-mart, the catalogue will be available online from the 24th. They said to just print off the toys you want to layby for Christmas and then take it to the lay-by counter and you're done. Like many others I think they'll get the Tantive IV as well, there aren't too many choices left for the exclusives, although I haven't heard of anyone stocking the winter toy shop, so maybe that will be Target's exclusive.
hawkyboy4 Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Speaking of exclusives, does anyone know if the Endor set is exclusive to toyworld, or will I be able to get it cheaper somewhere? Also the 7598 Pizza Planet Truck, is that only at TRU? thanks Found it in MYER Karrinyup for either $200 or $300, but there were at least two copies. Hope this helps
hdface Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Found it in MYER Karrinyup for either $200 or $300, but there were at least two copies. Thank you, that helps, I'll see if my nearest will have them, otherwise I'll need to take a long trip out to Karrinyup. the 7598 Pizza Planet Truck, is that only at TRU? answered my own one here, the TS Truck was at Target today for $80, which is RRP but still better than the atrocious TRU markup. It was not at Kmart, Toyworld or Myer though.
Notorious Guf Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Toys R Us Toy Sale Starts at midnight the 30th I think, maybe the 1st. Does anyone know what sale they'll have on Lego and when they are expecting to receive stock of the Toys R Us Truck??
guy montag Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Myer Catalogue is out http://catalogues.myer.com.au/portal/ last page for Lego. 20% off. No mention of 10% extra for Myer one members? nor any email? Imperial Flagship $199, Cargo train $229 Emerald Night $119 (what was it last year?)

I doubt it.
guy montag Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Thanks for that. Emerald Night was $129 last time. I wonder if they will last longer than a day this time. I doubt it. From memory, they had a 1 set per customer limit on this. I didn't buy it last time, so i'll be keen to pick it up this time around. I love the price on the imperial flagship, I think these will get snapped up fairly quickly. I have a question for anybody. How long does the train sets hang around the shelves for? Are they just like any other city line? or quite limited like a pirates line? for example I still see heaps of construction site hanging around, but I don't see brickbeards bounty much.
Whup Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 I'll be really happy if I can pick up a Flagship for $199! I've supposedly got one on hold, but I'll be getting in early anyway. If anyone in Adelaide is desperate for one but can't make it into Myer I could try and pick up an extra for them. No promises obviously, but I could PM immediately if successful. I'm not out to make a profit; would only ask what it cost me. Also, am I the only one that gets pangs of guilt snapping up these bargains? I just hope I'm not denying some pirate loving kid an awesome Christmas present :P

They had no limit at my local Myer, I bought 2 EN's, and could have bought 5. The only times I saw the old Cargo train they were pretty much gone in a few weeks. I think with these huge sets the retailers are quite cautious, not wanting to be stuck with expesive stock that doesn't sell, so they limit the number they stock.

I hope Myer stocks some track, I saw some switching points last week, but not the straights/curve combo pack.

That has always seemed strange to me: so many places stock points, yet stores rarely stock trains or track. What are people supposed to do with points on their own?
Strand Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Wow. $199 is an absolute STEAL for the Imperial Flagship, I picked it up for the $280 S@H thing with the Atlantis freebie and never regretted it. It's also one of the few 'impressive' sets I have, that non-Lego fans can appreciate as it's physically quite large and detailed and is a very recognisable design. Fingers crossed Kmart gets the Tantive IV! After missing out on the Star Wars Shop sale yonks ago and being too cheap to pay postage, I'll dearly love to pick it up in-store. I love Kmart's midyear sales, They have a big lovely UCS each time at a great price. Last year picked up the DSII, UCS Grievous ($30ish) and that insane AT-OT/dropship bundle everyone jumped in on.

I just hope I'm not denying some pirate loving kid an awesome Christmas present :P I've done the same, fingers crossed the 'hold' sticker doesn't mysteriously disappear. I feel the guilt too, so just one for me but at $199 it is tempting to get one for later (not quite sure why I'd ever need two though), but hey at least we're not just grabbing the bargain for a quick profit. I can't see what other choices there are for K-Mart except the Tantive IV, I'd be stunned if they don't have it, the only thing I am not sure if is what the price would be. Oh if anyone in Adelaide wants some slightly hard to find sets, Imagine If have 10% off lego and have some agents, the AT-OT as well as a few others that aren't easy to find.
lightningtiger Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Popped into Myer TTP this morning, heaps of cargo train, Emerald Night and some of those Flagships - with more out the back according to a salesperson there. I'm a conformist! !
Anonymous Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 I hope Myer stocks some track, I saw some switching points last week, but not the straights/curve combo pack. Today when I was checking the stock at Myer, the lego distro guy was there and I asked him about this. He informed me that all the stock for stores has been sold out and they are waiting for more stock to arrive, if you needed tracks now, stock located to S@H is still available. sadly while chatting away, I forgot to ask him when the collectible minifig series 2 was coming out :( Hopefully everyone gets what they want.
lightningtiger Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Lego selling out, that's new ! (haha - joke) Let's all hope they have learnt their lesson by not bring in enough train sets, hopefully the crossing are not far away, but sadly I feel August we must wait ! Ah well, I'm a conformist! everyone !
Belchher Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Gawd I hope you're right concerning stock levels, unfortunately I live in a "Myers dead zone", with the two closest being around 30 minutes away either north or south, so I was planning on heading to one some time mid-morning on Thursday to avoid peak hour traffic. I'm going to be bummed out if I get there and there's no cargo trains, ENs, or stations!

They usually do this quite happily.
Belchher Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 !!!!! Great idea, and thanks for making me feel like an idiot for not thinking of that cunning plan first lol
lightningtiger Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Is it just me or do I seem to find out things real early eh ? KMART TOY SALE BIG SW set is .......... Tantive IV $299.00 Plus the 3 new creator vehicle sets, and City fire station too. That's all I was able to get out of the Kmart worker stacking toys in their promo area. I'm a conformist! !
Belchher Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I hope that's the pre-sale price, as 299 is the RRP...and by fire station, I take it you mean the City one, not the old fashioned modular one?
