d00dz Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 omg silly me.. saw that kmart catalogue and went into my local kmart early today, bought the Helicopter and Wampa Attack. Walked out looked at the reciept and wondered why it was so expensive. Then went back and found out that the toy sale starts on the 1st of July! :( Dammit I was so embrarrased. Doh Oh well go back there next week to try and see if they have it.
FelixTheCat Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Just got back from an early morning trip to Meyer in Canberra City. Got the flagship, fire bragade, cargo train, a PF pack , some plush minifigs and keyring minifigs for under $670. Happy with that Meyer1 card does give you an EXTRA 10% off at the register and city store had a fair bit of stock of all the bigger stuff.

And they're all having the midnight sales on the same night, so I can just troll them all. Big W also has the Force FX Lightsabers, don't think it'll be as cheap as TRU's <$100 ones on the Clone Wars launch though.
Hewman Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 The K-mart sale is pretty uninspiring for me although the XXL brick box at $69 for 1600 pieces might be worth picking up. Fingers crossed that the imperial flagship I put on hold is waiting for me at lunch time.

lightningtiger Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Well when I find what I want at a Kmart, LAYBY ! Then when the sale starts, Kmart will adjust it, they are the only retailer that does it without paying off the layby first. And so what if it's only for 8 weeks, I can't wait till Christmas to build a fire station or Wampa attack ! I'm a conformist! !
jonwil Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Does anyone know if the $49 price tag for the fire helicopter at K-Mart is a sale price and if so, what the regular shelf price will be after the sale is over? I know the fire station at $99 is definatly a sale price (and I WILL be buying one)

Svelte Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 I got the Myer email too and went in first thing to Bondi Junction Sydney. No Emerald Nights but plenty of other stock including at least a dozen Fire Brigades and Flagships. I even managed to score an Endor, yays! I bought a Flagship, Space Police HQ and the Smash n Grab for $269 (with discount and using a $20 rewards card) which is great value when you think retail on the Flagship is $280. Just a note for those worried about store not having stock or not even having a Myer in your area - you can order all of the big Exclusive sets online for the discount price (and pay minimal shipping). Add the code 88985486 today and tomorrow and you get an extra 10% off! Brilliant!

Belchher Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Myers is EVIL! All I can say is thank the gods for lay by Thankfully K-Marts sale is uninspiring for me, although I'll probably grab the fire station for the kids. Now I just have my fingers crossed that TRU dont have anything I feel compelled to buy, or my wife might neuter me! For those interested, I got into the nearest Myer at 9.45 this morning, and got the LAST cargo train, and by the time I left the dozen or so Emerald Nights where all gone. Can't complain I guess, have a modular fire station, cargo train, train station, and 3 Emerald Nights on lay by for under $800, that would be closer to $1200 normally.

Wow, what do you need with 3 Emerald Nights? If you just intend to resell them for a profit, it really just sounds a little intolerant of anyone also after one.
Whup Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 I'm very happy to have picked up a Flagship! Can't wait to build her! I put the ship on hold Sunday, which technically expired last night. The lady was good enough to keep it aside for an extra day, or I think I would have missed out. I walked in at 9:05 and she said she'd already sold lots! Wow! There were still a few cargo trains that I could see though, so if you're after one down south of Adelaide give Colonnades Myer a ring!

Buying 3 at $100 a pop is the easiest way to get 3 carriages, that bloody great engine with 1 just looks naff.
MrMac Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Visited Macquarie Center Myer in Sydney this morning. Picked up Flagship, Cargo Train and station with the 10% Myerone. In terms of other stock, they only had 4 Flagships left out on stock (another guy picked up x2), 20+ Cargo Trains, about 15 Fire Stations, and probably 4 or 5 more train stations. Long queues also. Edit: Didn't see any Emeralds or Endors, but wasn't really looking either Edited June 24, 2010 by MrMac
d00dz Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Anyone know where the 8214 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia is? Im hoping to goto the Syd CBD Myers afterwork and see if they have any.
Hemish Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Got me an Imperial flagship and a couple of space police sets as well Myer I went to, had about 6 of the flagships on the floor and Fire stations only a couple of the train sets

Myer has them on sale in the catalogue. There were some at Macquarie but didn't look specifically. Would assume CBD would have enough.
Hewman Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Report from Adelaide Myer: Arrived about 12:20 and collected my imperial flagship on hold and purchased immediately. There were still 3 on the shelves at that stage, and 2 emerald nights. I picked up the smart car, lighting repair chuck, a lego lantern and a duplo set for a 2 year old. By 12:45 both emerald nights were gone. When I left at 1 there were two imperial flagships left. There was no sign of any cargo trains when I arrived. There were plenty of fire stations and also battle of endor sets, masses of space police. Someone had cleared out the previously very full mindstorms shelves. So all in all a very successful trip but if you want an imperial flagship, hurry! Oh are others getting a giant super mario bag to put their purchases in. I reckon it could hold 4 imperial flagships, it's a monster! Edit: there was one lambhorgini police car left. Edited June 24, 2010 by hewman

Cammy Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 My friend and I went to Myer at Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast today. We put the Fire Brigade, Imperial Flagship and Emerald Night on layby, but the ladies there refused to give us a further 10% discount with our MyerOne card. They were refusing other customers who were asking about it as well, so we all only got the regular 20% off even though we all had MyerOne cards. Does anyone know if there's a way we can have them adjust the price on the layby if we went back there tomorrow and maybe asked someone more informed? My friend and I aren't exactly wealthy so any discount we can get is really appreciated, and we were very upset to be turned away for a discount we thought we were entitled to. At least they were nice enough to give us our free LEGO Club membership when we asked (and several other AFOLs were asking too).

Hey Cammy, If you've recieved an E-Mail from MyerOne directly (sent out yesterday) then I suggest you print it out and ask to speak with Management. My local Myer store had signs up saying MyerOne members get the extra 10% today and tomorrow no questions asked!! I recieved it on all my purchases, so with the E-Mail as proof you have every right to demand it via Myer management, and don't take no as an answer, it's written in black and white. "as a MYER one Member save an additional 10% on already reduced toys, books, games and console games from our current toy catalogue" If you don't have the E-Mail, let me know your E-Mail address via a private message and I shall E-Mail it to you as long as you can print it out and show them directly of the entitlement/deal! They really need to change their ways or educate staff members. It is after all a bonus for MyerOne customers only (even if you sign up today or tomorrow, you'll still get the extra 10% off).
