Wollongong NSW, its even in the catalogue.

Check fine print, seems fine to me, only mentions introductory offer.

11.jpg

Yes, an introductory offer to what? In-store they have placards saying "$200 if you have a DJ card" and all that. Oh well, maybe I'll go and ask them, and when they say $250 I'll say "OK don't worry" and walk off, and then they might be willing to lower the price! No. Wishful thinking...

Speaking of the Catalog, DJ epic failed while building the front of the VW beetle...

woohoo!! my wishes came true! RGS for $127.20. rush right to your nearest kmart!

also, the mars mission bulldog walker is on clearance for $85 and with +20% toy sale this week comes to $70. 30% off msrp.

if your store still has the AT-AT walker, get this.... on clearance for $160... with this week's sale comes to $128. close to 50% off msrp. or about US$90. not bad considering that's about 25-30% off US msrp. some of the boxes are damaged but meh...lego is lego. the earlier you go, the better the selection.

i grabbed a couple since we all know the return on lego sw sets one year after it sold out! :pir_laugh2:

I am very interested if those DJs prices on the Cafe Corner and Green Grocer if you don't need to sign up

Picked up some more stormtroopers battle packs from Target at $15.99, our K-Mart I believe has cleared all theirs out.

The Lego Batman "Tumbler" set was down to $55 at K-Mart set for clearance.

That Cafe Corner and Green Grocer seems so out of place next to that rubbish (in comparison) police station. That really annoys me, LEGO obviously designed those sets for AFOL's, yet they are marketed with a three year old playing with it. As if that kid could build those highly detailed sets!

they are right there. in the impulse pack cardboard display unit. TRU also got them already. but you probably want to get from target now since they are having 20% toy sale.

not for me though. you only get 2 spears, one troll sword, normal troll warrior with speckled iron helmet. pale in comparison to the knight set.

the dwarf mine defender in constrast is also better since you get one dwarf and 2 trolls for $15 (or for $10 if you bought bulks during the previous kmart sale). 3 for $10 sure beats 1 for $5.

that's one heck of a 3yr old if he owns all those sets! it's advertisement, dude... not meant to be taken seriously... :pir_laugh2:

Yeah true, but what I'm saying is that LEGO is marketed badly. For instance, I went into my local Toys R Us the other day and I asked where the LEGO was and they said it was in the "Boys" section. How sexist!

thx for the reply mate, which TRU have? i went to the nearest one at Garden city(queensland) but cant find any.

yeah, you are right, i already got 3 boxes of those, but i find one of the troll may not have weapon, that's why i tried to pay more attention to impulse.

how many i need to buy for bulks? since the price after 20% is 12 dollars. not 10. THX :pir-cry_happy: :pir-cry_happy:

My fellow Aussies, please tell me if I am wrong. I recall the VW was $150 when it first appeared on S@H, but it's $200. Have I been breathing ABS fumes too long?

I noticed the increase last week when it started showing up in the Top 20 sellers list! It's no coincidence this happens when the David Jones sale is on. Because I did think it strange that they could sell it at $159.99 on sale from the official Lego RRP of $149.99! Methinks that Lego seems willing to adjust the prices depending on what promotions it's retailers are running.

Eerily enough I was going to mention this in your review thread, as a new policy seems to be to over-price some sets bearing in mind that retailers are going to discount them, as happens in the UK. I think the Creator Ferry is an example of that too since it's fluctuated between $80-95 as a 'special' but is comparable to the Tan villa. I remember the Agents truck started off on S@H at $130 before jumping to $150 and it too seems one of the special big sets that is getting a lot of discount promotion ($100-$130 price range).

Psychic Sinner! You may be mad, but not from ABS fumes.

Is David Jones having a sale at the moment? For how long and what sort of discount?

I might be able to get a cheap Green Grocer without tricking the sales clerk about that strange $200 offer!

It's part of the same sale and it lasts until Xmas. VW Beetle is 'reduced' from $199.99 to $159.99

Green Grocer and Cafe Corner are also reduced from $249.99 to $199.99, but like others here I didn't see anything in the Sydney CBD store requiring you to sign up for the DJs credit card to get the discount!

This does seem to be a growing trend. TRU had been advertising exclusives like X-wing and Battle wheel at about $10 higher than S@H then in the next catalogue they reduce the price to the S@H and claim its on special! Very shifty work that :pir-sceptic:

TRU is alot like Toy World...Toy world sales usully just have it acouple $$ more then on sales its pretty much the rrp...most of the time. :pir-hmpf_bad:

Blue stickers in English? Because I didn't know they existed unless you mean the blue stickers in Dutch. And if that's what you meant, they were in all the police sets.

Anybody catch wind of the official release date of the 2009 Pirate sets in Australia?

I could email Lego Australia, though they usually don't even know about the new sets until they can look them up on S@H site. So might have to wait till Jan 1st.

Besides, aren't they mass selling power miners all over the world first?

Man, I should hook up with Sinner and anyone else in the Wollongong/ Sydney area and just put a mass order into S@H on Jan 1st :pir_laugh2:

I thought Sinner is in Tassie?

I think we will find approx dates in the December Lego Club magazine. They were pretty accurate this year.

You're right though that all the first half year sets will be available from S@H on Jan 1.

Too cruel if Pirates are available from S@H on Jan 1 but not due in store until a few months later (like the March Indy wave last year or the April City Cargo sets.)

No they have blue stickers in English & German [Not dutch]

But I only saw them at TRU for a short time :pir_bawling:

20% off at K-Mart this week.

Thats funny they just had 20% Off toys this last week :pir_wacko: , Oh well Im not complaining :pir_laugh2: hopefully they will restock with stuff because by yesterday [last day of 20% off toys sale] the LEGO shelves where like a ghost town.

Anybody catch wind of the official release date of the 2009 Pirate sets in Australia?

I emailed a Australian LEGO Online Retailer and they said

Their LEGO rep has not given a definite date on them but They said They [Pirates sets] may be an exclusive for one of the large retail stores [huh?!] But they will be geting 2 of the smaller sets in the first half of 2009 though- But this retailer often gets stuff abit later then the shops so it might be earlier...

Maybe they are reffering to DJ or Myer. somewhere like that. Perhaps all us Aussies should make some kind of community purchase, then we could post from there. With S@H so damn expensive, surely even that would be cheaper!
