Tony Almeida Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Anyone that pays more than RRP for any current LEGO set is stupid IMO (the exception being exclusives where you have to pay what the store charges) +1.
DarthSion Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I see BTTW has the new star wars sets, and at decent prices.
Kha-khees Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Does anyone have a list of items at TRU that have decent prices before the 20% offer this weekend? Wondering if I should bother to pick anything up if i'm already planning on getting a few more things from target.

Recommend you go in there armed with the RRP of the sets you are after - TRU have a nasty habit of jacking up Lego prices just before a big % off sale (plus their regular price is already higher than the Lego RRP!!).
lightningtiger Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Yep, Target Newton SA have all the new Star Wars and City Train sets. I put a big layby on today ! I'm a conformist! !
jonwil Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) Has anyone heard any confirmation of who will stock Minifigures series 2? I have a report from Toyworld that they will be stocking it but has anyone heard anything about who else may stock it. Edited July 28, 2010 by jonwil
Friction Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 When does the Target Lego sale end? 4th of August. It's not a separate sale, just part of their Layby for xmas sale.
Whup Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I popped into the Laygo store again in my lunchbreak today - lot's of new stuff in! The two different train sets were there for anyone having trouble finding them, as well as some new Star Wars stuff and a good range of everything else as well. I get the impression the shipment that was meant to arrive in August arrived a month early...

I thought they did that too, I'll have a look at one tomorrow... Let yu guys know if theres anything outstanding, unlikely as that is.
lightningtiger Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 G'day everyone, a quick word......they are at it again.....Kmart that is and that word 'CLEARANCE' ! Like Echo Base for 25 bucks for starters and the creator fire truck for 50 ! So check your local is what's on clearance ! I'm a conformist! !
emilyjem Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Saw all the new Star Wars sets at Kmart Marrickville (NSW) last night, including the CTT. Same prices as reported earlier in other states. Plus they had one solitary Hero Factory set!
KartoffelViking Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Chomp-chomp! They have a few boxes of minifigs series 1 at TRU TTP (Adelaide) at $3 per minifig, or a very agreable $2.40 after the 20% discount :-D Off you go!
jonwil Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Do we have a release date for the TRU public transport set yet? I have seen some places that say September and others that say August.
TheDarkness Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 K-Mart have the earlier Toy Story sets discounted as well :) Sadly all out of Echo Bases here, but happy to get the Toy Story Construct A Zurg set for $25. Cheers for the headsup lightningtiger

jamonlego Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 (edited) Hi, TRU at upper mt gravatt/garden city, didnt have the wizard - I did ask about series 2 minifigs, spoke to the manager, but he said he knew they were coming but had no idea when, also same for the lego games. He did find a box of series 1 minifigs our the back though and sold me some of there for $3 minue 20% with the voucher - still plenty left today I went to Big W and they had plo kloons starfighter for 36.80 approx and gnl grevious starfighter for 78.80 approx, cheaper than target with 20% - all the other star wars set they had were at rrp-5%, normal big w pricing - I thought these 2 sets wouldnt be this cheap for a long time, so I got both good hunting Edited July 31, 2010 by jamonlego
KartoffelViking Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 (edited) I spotted the yellow 3221 LEGO Truck at Big W (Golden Grove, Adelaide) for ~$44. That's one set where I would actually apply the stickers :-) Edited July 31, 2010 by KartoffelViking

jonwil Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Some reports from Armadale today: Toyworld still has Minifigures series 1 along with plenty of other new stock (City, Hero Factory etc) Big W has City Fire product, with the Helicopter being cheaper even than Target with the 20% off. Other fire products were at the usual Big W prices. Target also still has Minifigures series 1 (great if you want to get some at 20% off RRP). They also had the yellow truck (which at $40 is as cheap as you will get it anywhere) Nothing on Minifigures series 2 or the city house.

There are none at my local TRU (Parramatta) although my local Target (Blacktown) has two boxes of Series 1 minifigs for $3 per fig on sale. Yay for me!! They also had all the train sets (minus the station), all the new Fire sets and World Racers, some new Star Wars sets as well.
