Hemish Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 KMart at logan had 2 of the Woodys roundup left at $39 9 of the farms for $65 about 10 of the mid scale falcons for $35 4 tie defenders for $50 7 army men sets for $13 And a couple duple sets on sale too. I wonder how long they will wait to clear out those prince of persia sets?
marvinblue Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 (edited) Breaking News!!!! Public Transport Station (8404) and TRU City Truck (7848) spotted at my local TRU (Parramatta) today. The Truck was $59.99 and Public Transport was $129.99. Plenty of stocks of both. Edited August 31, 2010 by marvinblue
lightningtiger Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 No good news from TRU's in Adelaide......Gepps Cross have not received those two sets yet, but Adelaide city store maybe today in nightfill for tomorrow. The next catalogue will NOT have any Lego in it I have been told. I'm a conformist! !
Siegfried Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Big W now have World Racers sets (I saw the big one and the one with 2 cars for slightly cheaper than list), the castle sets (7947 Prison Tower and 7948 Outpost Attack; both slightly cheaper than list) as well as 8078 Portal of Atlantis for about $125. (I grabbed one of those! ) KMart at logan had 2 of the Woodys roundup left at $39 There was one left at my local K-Mart. I bought it and gave the figs to the kids...
jonwil Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Several TRUs here in Perth reported that they are getting stocks in tomorrow and to check back then (which I shall do)
lightningtiger Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Picking up the latest TRU catalogue and my heart sank.....Best Lock.....smegging Best Lock half price.....why oh why ? Aw well, I'm a conformist! ......with the real stuff......I'm a conformist! !
jonwil Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Breaking News!!!! Public Transport Station (8404) and TRU City Truck (7848) spotted at my local TRU (Parramatta) today. The Truck was $59.99 and Public Transport was $129.99. Plenty of stocks of both. For once, something GOOD from TRU. Shop @ Home has the public transport at $169.99 so the TRU price is a saving of $40 from the Shop @ Home price. I for one will be buying one as soon as stock appears locally in case the $129.99 price is an error and they bump the price back up.
Svelte Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 In Sydney I called Moore Park TRU and they didn't have any on shelves, but the person who answered saw a pallet of new LEGO out the back, so maybe call back in 2 days? Helpful as ever! $129.99 is a noice proice and much more appealing than $169.99
Hewman Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Breaking News!!!! Public Transport Station (8404) and TRU City Truck (7848) spotted at my local TRU (Parramatta) today. The Truck was $59.99 and Public Transport was $129.99. Plenty of stocks of both. Thanks for that news Marvinblue, that sure makes the Public transport station very tempting, and the price seems pretty fair to me for the truck. I've already bought stickers for the lego version to Lego-ify the toys r us truck.
Svelte Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Don't get too excited everyone I just came back from TRU Parramatta and 8404 was on the shelf sticker and at the checkouts at $159.99 - $10 less than S@H but still pricey. Since this was the same TRU marvin first saw them in, it's possible he made a mistake. Either that or they updated the info superfast! I only saw 3 of each of the Public Transport set and the TRU truck.
lightningtiger Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 The details 'Svelte' has now provided proves the email I was sent months ago by TRU's Sydney HQ....here it is again from May..... I believe this is Skn 340332 – Lego City Public Transport MFR# 8404 ($159.99) which will be arriving in stores late August. So they might have been right for a change at TRU eh ? I'm a conformist! !
jonwil Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Even $159.99 isn't all that bad (and still $10 less than Shop @ Home) and still good enough to remain on my "if I see this I will buy it" list
alepto Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Just noticed http://www.bricknet.com.au/LEGO/Castle selling castle advent calendars. Also Melbourne CBD (i.e. QV) BigW has sets mentioned and more ( e.g. 7950 Knights Showdown) [... though like the rest of the Oz AFOLS would really want to see the Jester (TLG are you listening????) ]
Siegfried Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Even $159.99 isn't all that bad (and still $10 less than Shop @ Home) and still good enough to remain on my "if I see this I will buy it" list It'll have to be cheaper to get me interested; it's only 864 parts and most are generic. That's the kind of price one expects for a licensed set! Even $129 seems a bit pricey.
lightningtiger Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Just noticed http://www.bricknet.com.au/LEGO/Castle selling castle advent calendars. I beleive alot of independent retailers might be get these in the matter of a few weeks or less. I'm a conformist! !

While there I noticed they had the new Harry Potter sets available for pre-order and the exciting news is some prices are less than the RRP toyworld were quoting, $180 for Hogwarts castle, $120 for Hogwarts Express, $90 for The Burrow and $15 for Freeing Dobby, hopefully this is full RRP because at 15% off some of these prices are very good.

Svelte's pricing info is correct, not mine. It's great to see these sets on shelves though.
Cadder Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 (edited) I noticed this morning that the ads for both city and castle (Kingdoms) advent calendarshave appeared on S@H. At the moment they're there, but listed as $0.00 AUD and have flags of "limited quantity" and "Not available" (yet, obviously). Also, the SERIES 2 Collectible Miifigs have appeared. Edited September 1, 2010 by Cadder
Hewman Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 For those in Adelaide looking for any series 1 collectible minifigs, there were almost two full boxes at Toys R Us in the city when I went there after work tonight looking for the new toys r us truck. The good news is they're $2.99, way better than the $4.99 at toyworld in the city. No luck on the 7848 truck though. Also the Harry Potter sets are up on shop at home now, with some pics I haven't seen in such good quality before, but no prices or time of release yet. Apologies for not putting in as proper links but rushing out. http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=4842 http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=4841 http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=4840 http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=4738 http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=4737 http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=4736
lightningtiger Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Thanks for details 'Hewman' - I spoke to TRU in the city - no luck on either the TRU truck or public transport....maybe next week they might some news.....I'm a conformist! !
lightningtiger Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I visited Kmart Firle tonight before it shut.....World Racers, Creator and Kingdom's all on shelves now, but prices on the high side.....I'm a conformist! !
jonwil Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 (edited) No sign of the public transport at any local TRUs yet. One TRU did get a delivery but no public transport or TRU truck. One staff member said something like "from what I can see it hasn't appeared anywhere yet" (the thought to mention the Sydney sighting occurred only after I had made the phone call) If it wasnt for the time it takes to get here, I would just go ahead and order from Shop @ Home. emancipist007 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I grabbed the Public Transport System and TRU Truck from TRU at Castle Hill NSW this morning. Quite a few on the shelves and in the overheads. The official release date by TRU was September 1st
