Clone-Trooper Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 (edited) Awesome, Can I hear more about Mini-figure trades please...... What's wrong with posting a new Trades/Swap Mini-figures in the "Buy,Sell Trade and Find" section and clearly mark it as AUSTRALIANS ONLY....... seem's easy....... That might, just might solve the problem about other countries getting mixed in or involved! It is simple........ Edited September 24, 2010 by Clone-Trooper
Ras 74 Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 No there will not be another thread about swaps. Just ignore the posts you don´t want to read about and move on.

There is an Aussie/NZ forum (ANZFOL) on the net (see my sig block) that has a minifig trade thread in it, you could post there if you want... (My 2c)

lightningtiger Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 G'day folks, I was just checking out Mr. Toys & Games from QLD and I noticed the return of 7239 fire truck which will be soon entering it's sixth year ! Still $34.99 and due 15th of October - so I guess Toyworlds all over Oz will be stocking them - hopefully ! I'm a conformist! !
slopemodified Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 (edited) There are some cracking bargains at the bricklink shop of the Toy Corner owner. Get in real quick because they'll either sell, and if they don't it won't be long until the prices are back to normal. Highlights include 7199 temple of doom, around $70, ditto power miners titanium command rig. Just over $13 for 8014 clone battle pack. Also if in Adelaide he might allow local pick up. bargains there be here Bargains indeed. Did anyone buy anything from this seller? Would you recommend him? Edited September 24, 2010 by slopemodified
Hewman Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 (edited) Bargains indeed. Did anyone buy anything from this seller? Would you recommend him? Utterly brilliant, professional seller. I've spent way too many hundreds of dollars at his physical store and bricklink shop. Also his shop Toy Corner in Adelaide is starting their 15% off sale for school holidays tomorrow. I'm not sure if this applies online (by online I mean toycorner.com.au, not his bricklink shop) as well. To those not in Adelaide the reason a 15% sale is so interesting is that there are plenty of old sets and the store sells figs and pieces as well. PS Lightingtiger, I can't believe you didn't know this one, that makes the score Hewman 1: Lightningtiger 26 PPS Slopemodified, I bought a clone battlepack and a few pieces off him last week, super smooth transaction. Mainee Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Knox City Target had about 9 boxes of minifigs today (though the Spartan I got was very hard to come by). At $3.37 with the current 10% off - might be a good place to go if you need to finish your set.
TheDarkness Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Knox City Target had about 9 boxes of minifigs today (though the Spartan I got was very hard to come by). Our local store put out a few boxes. I was hoping someone made an error when I saw a completely seal box on the shelf, so scanned it only for it to tell me to see a customer service agent. I bought 4 packs for the first time, a Spartan was first up. My kids were happy putting them together though and playing with them. Is there an easy way to identify what is in each packet? I remember reading somewhere about people doing alot of scanning Also went to K-Mart. They had decided to put more of the older Toy Story Lego out, and put back more more Midi-Falcons, so I will revisit tomorrow. Picked up the farm set for $55 though
leonardi Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 This may seem dumb but anyone know where to still find series 1 minifigs in stores in Sydney? I raided some S2 boxes at target castle hill today and had a blast putting them all together. I guess I jumped on this bandwagon late!

I raided some S2 boxes at target castle hill today and had a blast putting them all together. I guess I jumped on this bandwagon late! You could try some Toys R Us stores. They had a good delivery of S1 minifigs a few weeks back and you *may* find some lingering around. I wouldn't know which ones would still have them though. =\ Otherwise, you're probably stuck with bricklink/ebay/e-tailer.
jonwil Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 (edited) Anyone here know of a release date or AU prices for the new Harry Potter sets? I heard a rumor of $200 for the castle (if that's true, that's a total rip-off considering I can get a Grand Emporium with almost twice as many pieces for 50 bucks more. Guess a chunk of that $200 has to go to Warners and Rowling though) I WAS going to buy some of the HP sets for the figs and other good parts but if the $200 price is true (and the price for other sets falls in line), there is no way I will (just like I dont buy Star Wars anymore because of the "lucas tax" Rather save my money for the late-year release of the Grand Emporium at David Jones. EDIT: Just did some googling and found a price on the Mr.Toys site that seems to confirm the $200 price tag. Anyone know of a site in the US where I can buy LEGO (at US RRP or something close to it) with a VISA card (not PayPal) and have it shipped to Australia? Edited September 26, 2010 by jonwil
I Scream Clone Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 EDIT: Just did some googling and found a price on the Mr.Toys site that seems to confirm the $200 price tag. Anyone know of a site in the US where I can buy LEGO (at US RRP or something close to it) with a VISA card (not PayPal) and have it shipped to Australia? Just get it 20% off at Myer or Target. $160Aus seems ok for this set. Otherwise Barnes and Noble will take credit card. www.bn.com I can order a Slave 1 for $93 US = $100 Aus at the moment without adding anything else into the order.

Secondly, I was at Target at Castle Hill a little over a week ago and the girls there were putting three brand new boxes of S1 figs on the shelf. Maybe they still have some? Also, last time I was at TRU at Parramatta (about a week ago) they had a box of S1 figs at the checkouts.

When I was there on Saturday, I only saw the S2 boxes in the one place near the check outs (they has about 6 boxes, 4 untouched!). I may have to go back. I'll also check out TRU at Parramatta maybe today if I get a chance. Thanks!
Cadder Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 (edited) Here's something I've not seen before: Mr.Toys/Toyworld Riverlink (Ipswich, Qld) have 2 boxes of S2 figs and a sign on the checkout counter: "They're back! $3.99 ea. Limit 6 per customer". (nb; Target Ipswich had none) Edited September 27, 2010 by Cadder

Wonder what is up with Toyworld having them now, I thought they were a Target exclusive Australia wide.

I had a look in there this arvo and they had 10 packs left at the register. 8 of them were unique so I manage to make half a set! Pretty happy with that!
lightningtiger Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Just a quick word, Toyworld's next catalogue is available to be viewed on Friday the 1st. of October. I'm a conformist! !

bjboyle Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Just saw in the latest BigW catalogue 7208 Fire Station for $94 and 7207 Fire Boat for $58.74. 8077 Atlantis Explorer HQ was $57.72. The range of the new Lego games was also reduced.
Hewman Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 (edited) Here's my lunch time report from checking the shops of the city in Adelaide: Toys r us had about a dozen jester impulses in with all the other kingdoms lego, but no evil wizard impulses. Target didn't have any collectable figs as far as I could see. Went to toyworld in the Myer centre, they had both series 1 nd series 2 figs in a series 2 box. I thought about looking for a Spartan (the only one of the series that I like but don't have), but then saw they were all $4.99 so just on principle I didn't check, also given there was only half a box, my chances would have been pretty slim to find one. Edit: In other news shop at home Australia are advertising the Harry Potter sets on their front page but when you click on th elink it says this set is not available in Australia, however I assumes it means we're close to having RRP of the sets confirmed, with differing prices listed on different web shops.
