Benly Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 (edited) The new LEGO section in the renovated Melbourne CBD Myer opened yesterday, and boy is it lurvly! Here are some piccies for you Adelaidians, New South Welshmen, Banana Benders etc. to drool over... (click on the photo!) Please tell me this is going to be a trend to all the major Myer centres. That's the grandest display of Lego at a store I've seen! On your flickr, that virtual scan-and-see-3D-projection is very cool!! Edited October 22, 2010 by Benly

Although I doubt that a renovated LEGO section could make up for the lack of stock... The LEGO section in both DJs and MYER in Perth has definatly gotten smaller in the time since I have been collecting (back when MYER had its section on the top floor, it was definatly larger and DJs hasn't moved, just had LEGO replaced by other toys) Edited October 22, 2010 by jonwil
I Scream Clone Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 For those who can't get to Myer for the sale. Barnes and Noble have put up Hogwarts! Its on sale due to being a top seller, $5 off toys special and these coupons work as well (M3W4P3L or U3D8B4J)to bring the price down to $107 US including shipping! That's probably only about $110 Aus. No sign of the rest of the line though. The 3D scanner is awesome, I had a good play over in Chicago with it.

Pending the outcome of this test, Lego Aust will include Pick a brick section and possibly roll it out to other stores and then a "real" LEGO band store which is only a matter of time before Australia gets one. There's a possibility that Sydney is next on the list with the CBD redevelopment....?!?!
slopemodified Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Found out the Myer One deal is for Saturday and Sunday, and yes every 75 bucks spent take off 25 bucks.....oh, Hogwarts is looking good or should I re-layby that cargo train eh ? Keep on shopping everyone ! Just came from Myer ($150 magically became $100!), and saw a new Toys catalogue starting Nov 4: Harry Potter 4840 The Burrow - $70 4841 Hogwarts Express - $95 4842 Hogwarts Castle - $139 Creator 5892 Sonic Boom - $70 5866 Rotor Rescue - $16 Technic 8051 Motorbike - $64 8052 Container Truck - $109 8214 Lamborghini Polizia - $69 7744 Police HQ - $110 5489 Vehicle Building Set - $64
TheDarkness Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Something I noticed at Wynnum K-Mart today (although they didn't have any stock, just a gap) - 10198 Tantive IV with a yellow clearance sticker of $229. I seem to recall some disappointment during the July sale that the sale price was $299, so this might represent a better price for those after the SW theme? I'm glad that the price has finally started to drop on it. If only it would drop as low as the AT-OT went! Mind you, people pick bargains up alot faster at my local K-Mart now so I miss out more often. Either that or the pull the stock off faster. That being said, some clone battle packs made their way back onto the shelves here, which was a suprise, but out at their standard price of $19.50

Any idea how they will evaluate this "test"? A PaB would be nice, but of course a proper LEGO Store would be better. I have heard from someone on the Mugs List that a source told them that the LEGO Store creation team has been pre-booked to create a store in Sydney in 2013/14, but I don't know how true that is.

lightningtiger Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 I just checked the Toyworld catalogue starting the 25th of Oct,, aw.....man, buy a selected SW set and score a white Boba Fett ! Oh, yeah Slave 1 is down to 119 bucks. Also, city fire truck/boat combo only 49 bucks and Portal Of Atlantis is only 129 bucks. There are a few other specials too.....but I'm going to ask nicely for a white Boba...can't hurt to try ! Keep on shopping everyone !
Hewman Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 I just checked the Toyworld catalogue starting the 25th of Oct,, aw.....man, buy a selected SW set and score a white Boba Fett ! Oh, yeah Slave 1 is down to 119 bucks. The selected sets are the slave 1 as mentioned, plus the following all at RRP, Endor ($199), Wampa ($80), General Grievous ($95), so it doesn't look like that good a deal unless you want a slave 1.
chibi_joker Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Hi guys, Is the City House (8403) a Toyworld exclusive? I saw one today, what's with the price hike Toyworld? I'm still on my quest to buy that Grand Emporium!
lightningtiger Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Is the City House (8403) a Toyworld exclusive? I saw one today, what's with the price hike Toyworld? Yep, it's an exclusive and thats' what I paid last week for mine.....though I will add it's worth the money in the fact it's a neat house to fit in any city. Also quite MOD'able too ! Keep on shopping everyone !

Thank you for the info lightningtiger I do think it's quite lovely too and can definitely see it in my little town, but the price is putting me off a bit (I thought it would be the same as S@H).
jonwil Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 For those looking for the City House, I recommend shopping around. I have seen some stores with stock at RRP, some at RRP+10 and some at RRP-10 (I got mine at RRP-10 from the Claremont store)
Civic Bossman Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Toyworld Success (WA) have theirs at $69.99 They also have Kingdoms and Pirates Advent Calendars for $34.99
Tony Almeida Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 The new LEGO section in the renovated Melbourne CBD Myer opened yesterday, and boy is it lurvly! Here are some piccies for you Adelaidians, New South Welshmen, Banana Benders etc. to drool over... (click on the photo!) Wow, very impressive. All we need now is a Pick-A-Brick wall (though I'd only ever buy stuff on discount)
slopemodified Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 (edited) Is it only Toyworld that stocks the Advent Calendars? Or does that change as Xmas nears? Has the City one been spotted anywhere? Edited October 25, 2010 by slopemodified
lightningtiger Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Is it only Toyworld that stocks the Advent Calendars? Or does that change as Xmas nears? Has the City one been spotted anywhere? Toyworld's and other independant stores got the Kingdom's advent calendars, the city one's were though the Lego Club....dam, I forgot about it ! Keep on shopping anyway !
Hemish Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 All the $2 impulse sets at the local KMart were gone, they did have a couple of the toy story army men left for $11. Starwars droids battle packs were down to $10 and build a zurg $15
Hemish Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 This sale at toyworlds with the white boba fett, is it a national thing or local? I went to my local toyworld today and they knew nothing about it??
