G'day everyone, just read that for the next five days Myer is giving 25% off all Lego.....now that's better than Target's 20% eh ?

Keep on shopping ! :sweet:

So I suppose we cannot apply the 25% towards the catalogue prices? Have you heard anything for Myer One members?

If anyone in Perth wants an Emporium, DJs in the CBD had 4 or so as of tonight (Wednesday) as well as plenty of Fire Brigades.

Is it still 25% off?

If so, do you or anyone know how does that offer work, does one have to sign up for their AmEx credit card?

Damn, you beat me to it, I was also in there after work. Saw the staff pull 6 GE's out of boxes tonight, though 2 of them were very badly munted up.

As far as the 25% sale goes, I had to pay off my lay-by then get a refund & re-buy it at the sale price. They weren't able to simply adjust the price on the computer, though they're running quite an ancient system so this isn't surprising.

25% off all toys until the 16th, no special requirements.

Hey slopemodified,

I just called my local Myer because in the past I have received the additional 20%/25% off on top of

catalogue marked prices which made them sensational buys, but unfortiantely not this time around.

Must be the new computer system Myer has installed in all their stores, the catalogue price for The

Kings Castle 7946 set is $139 down from $169, so when the guy scanned the Lego set it still appreared as $139.

If anyone is going to buy any Lego from Myer, it might be worth while to do your maths depending on what

set your planning to purchase, for example, The Kings Castle 7946 set is RRP $169, in the catalogue for $139

or if you pay full RRP $169 minus 25% off, you'll actually get it for $127.46 (your $12 dollar better off).

I wonder what Lego specials Myer will come out with for post XMas sales.....

Thanks Clone-Trooper. I'll be bringing a reference chart with all of the calculated discounts to the store!

I am looking forward to any after-Xmas offers as well. When is that anyway, Boxing Day?

mmmm I should have been more specific in my wish.

Take two:

A decently priced Fire Brigade (10197)

(crosses fingers and waits to see what specials the weekend junk mail brings)

What do you consider to be a reasonable price?

LEGO rips off .au consumers again despite the record-high AUD.

The new police station has 783 pieces and a list price of $149.99

The old police station has 170 pieces MORE and yet it has a list price on the same site of $139.99 (which also matches the Shop @ Home RRP) So they are charging 10 bucks more for a set with 170 pieces less.

US RRP for the new station is $99

NinjaGo is comming on 15/1 and also some sets on 15/4

Atlantis is due 15/2

Creator is due 15/2

Technic is due 15/4

Hero Factory is due 15/2

City Space is due 15/4

Cars is comming 15/5

Minifigs S3 is listed as 15/1 and S4 as 15/4

POTC is listed as 15/5

New games comming 15/1

No sign of Pharaoh's Quest (which fits with the report that its a store exclusive, wonder which store it will be)

Lets hope Series 3 comes soon and in big numbers (and to stores where standing there feeling the bag to find the ones you want wont make the store employees want to kick you out of the store. Although one answer to that might be to say "I will buy any bag that I damage in any way" :)

I want at least 4 of the snowboarder :)

A similar thing happened with the Fire refresh, although at least the number of pieces didn't decrease!

7945 (2007) - 600 pieces, and I recall the RRP was $90

7208 (2010) - 662 pieces, and S@H price is $140

Granted, there's some inflation in 3 years, but not in the order of 50%, and the $AU is a lot stronger than it was in 2007. I'm pretty sure the Kingdoms / Castle refresh went through similar inflation. It seems this time they've kept the price down but disguised it in drop in pieces.

It will depend which majors pick it up. If Kmart and Big W get it, the "standard" price will be lower, and thus the sale prices should come down a bit. I'd peg it around $130, allowing a sale to bring it down to around $100. Still, feels like a kick in the teeth given that Big W has carried 7744 for around $90 for the majority of this year.

The particularly annoying thing about the much higher S@H price compared to the US is that the usual issue, shipping, doesn't apply in this case. They hit you for that separately.

Posted (edited)

The official response to pricing inquiries in the past has been that they price according to the market, by which they mean they charge whatever they can get away with. I will buy more of my LEGO wherever I can get it cheaper. Sometimes that is from US S@H and sometimes that's from US or European bricklink stores.

I managed to score a Apple Tree House for $52 at DJ's. The ticket price is 79.99 but scans at 69.99. I missed this and when I went back and asked for the 25% discount they applied it to the 69.99 price. Good times

Should have scanned Grand Emporium too, maybe it would have been cheaper than $180.

Huh, got my Lego magazine today, surprisingly it came with a mini-model. 30008 Snowman Christmas hanger.

Pretty awesome, or what?! I find in general the best presents are those I didn't expect, and this is certainly one of them.

My son and of course yourstruely might do a review of the Christmas freebie everyone.

By the way Toy Corner has got their 15% off sale again.

Keep on Christmas shopping ! :sweet:

Edit - 30008 review is up in the OTHER forum....I'm a conformist! everyone !
