It seems that Lego has priced the Fairytale minifig and Community minifig sets (227 pieces and 256 pieces) at $98.75 each.

Ouch.

BARGAIN

BARGAIN

BARGAIN.................... not

Seems like Lego have set their pricing way up there as per their other 2011 releases.

An update - kmart (Vic - burwood hwy) has the new SW battlepacks in. They also have the ninjago starter pack and individuals (a real bargain at 15$ as opposed to 16$ @ target (Vic-forest hills))

And I saw parents buying the ninjago stuff - seemed that kids were already wanting specific ones. Sadly no reviews from me, I left them all alone at those prices...... The printing looked nice on the minfig tbh, BUT some cards, chinese plastic minfig and a couple of weapons for 15$.... *cough*

Also in case people have not noticed most of the police sets (including the lovely bank/money transfer ) are on S@H which hopefully means we will see them soon.

Also (in case people have not noticed [or posted previously ... and I missed it]) toyworld have 20-50% (hrmm or 25-50% memory fails me) off all stuff in store atm. So minimum discount is 20% for Lego. They had some of the Toy Story stuff at 50% (vic-forest hills)

Checked out the Lego exhibition at the Sydney Aquarium/Wildlife world today... had some amazing stuff on display and there's a little lego store on the side too. The Lego store consisted of a whole heap of atlantis sets, nothing too special, none of the hard to find sets were spotted. Most sets were overpriced. However they do stock some Lego books.

If anyone is after the Tanative IV (10198) - Kmart (Chadstone) have reduced these further to $169!!

Thanks for the heads up Mainee about the reduced price of the Tantive IV set, although my wallet is much lighter now........

I guess if you can't flog Atlantis at an Aquarium, where can you sell 'em?! I assume none of the 2011 Atlantis sets were out yet, especially 7985 Temple of Atlantis? (This is going to be my great white whale.)

And by overpriced do you mean actually above LEGO Australia's RRP, or everything marked at RRP which is of course overpriced anyway relative to almost everywhere else in the world.

I have some star wars lego sets ready to ship down to OZ if anyone is interested:

Lego 8097 Slave 1

Lego 7754 Home One

Lego 8099 Midi ISD

Lego 7749 Echo Base

All mint in sealed boxes and ready to ship. Cost will be roughly 75% of Australian retail prices (cheaper if you buy more than 1 as shipping will be spread over multiple sets). Contact me at sweetpeandme@hotmail.com if you are interested. Let me know what sets you would like (I have multiples of each set)and I can give you an exact quote.

If anyone is interested in Diagon Alley (looks to be a fabulous set) shipped from the US also let me know and I will get some quotes going. Looking like I can ship these down to OZ for $205 USD for 1 set come Jan 1st (retails for $269 in Australia). The aussie dollar looks to be at parity right now.

Cheers.

They had the Repair truck(3179) for $30....so that's way over rrp. and i think they had the neptune carrier for a "special price" of $69.99.

On Friday I received a half year clearance email from David Jones saying "... save 30% or more on a great range of toys from LEGO, ...", so it might be worth ringing up or popping by to check for GEs.

No discount on the Grand Emporium at the two DJ's I checked at.

There was a fair bit of discounted stock, but they were mostly the common city sets.

How about the exclusive minifigure? Did you manage to acquire one as an adult or were they strict about handing them out to kids only? I heard there were 3 figures to choose from, but no confirmation as of yet.

I visited the gift shop, and can concur it's not worth your time or money. Plenty of books including sticker collections, 2011 Annual and Brickmaster books. I didn't take note of prices unfortunately, buy safe to say everything in store is RRP or higher than.

It's strictly a tourist shop or for rich parents who are there to keep the kids quiet and happy.

I got one minifig from the wildlife world, as this was the first place where I bought my tickets. It was a sub-par minifig decked out in khakis and a hat, looked like a cowboy minifig. I didn't get any other minifigs because I didn't have to line up again at the aquarium, so can't comment on that one. It was extremely busy when I went and I lined up at the wildlife world because the line was much shorter. The staff was nice enough to hand the minifig to us but did advise us not to tell any other adults....*oops

Okay, now is the time to panic......Kmart....yes, Kmart has gone silly again (must have forgotten to take their med's eh ? )......clearing out Harry Potter.....yes, HP.....are they mad ?????

Freeing Dobby only 9 bucks !

Hogwarts Express only 79 bucks !

The Burrows (if you can find it) only 65 bucks !

These prices were at the Firle SA branch......by the way Tantive IV only $ 169 now and reasonable stock of all but The Burrows (sold out at Firle).

No sign or information on 2011 sets yet.......keep on after-Christmas shopping !

Today visited the Wild life world and the Aquarium. Took a little one and she ( WELL I CLAIMED IT ) got a minifig. A cowboy style version of Crocodile Dundee.

I asked for 1 and was told no since I had a child with me, the same minifig is available at each place, I know because I asked and saw the box.

As previously stated here the Store is not cheap, just full retail price. Seemed to have Aquarius, some City and the World racers sets, lots of books, but our local Target has them from time to time anyway.

The Large Lego displays are Awsome. These things are 20000+ bricks. from memory theere was at Wildlife world a cowboy on a horse at the entry, a pair of Butterflies near the butterfly display then the boxing Kangaroo with the guy being hit having a back eye, a lego guy holding a snake, Caveman with a spear attacking a croc ( the croc is the display for the exibit ) , Burke and Wills and a camel, Lego Family, well mum and the kids dad is taking a photograph, then a cowboy with a bullock type animal.

The Aquarium had a King Trient ant the entry then, a sailor, Great white shark, a brilliant mural, a man with a penguin, Mermaid, Diver, Killer whales tail!, Moby dick (made from Duplo) and another giant Mural.

Well worth the look if you have never been, we actually prebooked on line and midded the giant line up to purchase ticks there.

Myer city store had on display a model of the Sydney Harbour Bridge ( Thats what LEGO should do next!! ) and a Monkey, also a little set up of a house and an Airport.

Nothing spectacular for sale, they did have about 100 FIre Station 10197 if there happens to be a sale coming up.

Well thats my report, I almost didn't go because I couldn;t find a report on what was there, glad I did go now.

Very interesting about Harry in Kmart. Although a highly desirable theme, I guess they are again clearing the decks of "old" themes to make way for the 2011 sets.

Not that they need much clearing in my neck of the woods: a late night shopping trip in southern Sydney showed up very little Harry Potter. Kmart Hurstville has quite a few Dobbys and a few Quidditchs ($19 down from $28) only left, but the other nearest Kmart at Sylvania has no Harry Potter left at all.

It's a pity: my Hogwarts Express would've looked nice with an extra carriage, and a few more floors on the Burrow! Hopefully other people in less Harry Potter fandom areas can benefit from the clearance.

Thanks again for the info!

Well thats my report

Thank you for that comprehensive writeup! Sounds like some great exposure for LEGO and the creations possible with it through those very popular attractions.

Adding to the Sydney City "bargains": David Jones Sydney have the 10197 Fire Brigade at $209.96 (30% discount). About 22 of them! And one solitary Grand Emporium ($249.99) with slightly torn box surface - perhaps a return from someone's overzealous unwrapping?

Personally, it's going to take a lower price than $209.96 to get me interested in the 10197 Fire Station for parts. $125-$150 and maybe we're talking.

Anyone know when (or have any rumors of when) any of the following will appear in K-Mart (or MYER or Target):

bank robbery

creator mini digger/mini plane

police minifig set

police dog unit

prisoner transport

police truck

police station

Atlantis temple

minifigs series 3

I got a big whack of gift vouchers for xmas to spend on LEGO.

Info on likely costs for those items would also be nice if its available :)

Bad news first, the very cool looking bank robbery isn't available in stores until April, plus it's an exclusive and it's $90!

Atlantis temple available Feb ($120).

Series 3 figs have been listed as January and series 4 for April.

The rest of the police sets available January some time, prices are all on shop at home now, and about what you'd expect based on previous prices.

Now my guess the bank set will go to BigW.....so hopefully it wont be so painful to the wallet. And those other city sets, maybe mid-January.....so keep on waiting !

In Maroochydore QLD I found all the Ninjago Spinners (non system sets) at Target and only selected ones at Myer and Kmart, all the new Police sets apart from the Police Station at Myers, and only the Mandalorian Battle Pack at Kmart, everything was at full price.

Wait, a minute I checked both Kmart's and one Target store on the Gold Coast the other day while on hoildays and NOTHING....so where there is lots of children at this time of year they DON'T put out new lines.....man, Aussie retailers need a good kick somewhere eh ?

Has any of the new sets being spied anywhere else otherthan particular parts of QLD ?

Anyway, keep on looking !

Yeah, I went on Thursday (LEGO delivery day) and they were only just opening up the cardboard boxes.
