First of all I'd just like say something to HB...
[insert Nelson voice from simpsons] HA-HA!! [Voice/]

And do you know why HB? Because....At Garden City.....I found a TROLL IMPULSE!

And I bought one. And that other little castle set with the cannon and 2 knights and that undead horse & The latest train station [$44 on sale at DJ's w00t ]

I might post pics for proof later..... Also I would make you sig-fig to whack but im lacking capes so maybe next time..

Also I dont even like the Impulse.....I might not even open it.

I just had to post about my big score.

I'd wanted the 10185 Green Grocer for a while, and was in Legoland Cali in May but couldn't fit it in a bag. David Jones had it on sale for $199 'till Dec 24, but I didn't have the cash. So when they announced 25% off everything I went for a look.

They had one set left. I went and asked the price, it scanned as $199. I asked about the 25% off, but they said that was off the marked price ($249). I asked if they could do it for 25% off the $199, they ummed and ahhed and looked at the ground a bit, then said yes! Win.

But when she did the sums on the calculator, it ended up being $139! Super win. Green Grocer for $110/44% off.

I left pretty quickly before they could change their minds.

Great steal though! Atm I am umming and arring about getting the MT-51 Claw-Tank Ambush for $25 bucks!!! Has anyone got it and reccomends it. Are there any Picture reviews?

I got the Claw Tank ambush set as part of the Myer clearance. It is a sweet set! Lots of nice parts, well designed, good functionality, and the tank treads have those little rubber technicy things attached so the treads can climb uphill. Looks good too.

I don't think MM was marketed very well; it wasn't until I looked at the instructions for the Eagle Command Base that all the other sets are supposed to connect to the big main set - and the trans-orange tubes on the smaller sets are designed to connect to the Eagle pump travel system for alien/ energy crystal collection and transportation. It really is clever and neat - you send out the smaller vehicles for foraging/ raids etc but they all converge on the base.

If you just buy the smaller sets first, you just think 'why have they got so many of these useless trans-orange parts?' but they do make sense in the theme overall; it just isn't obvious from the back of the box pics for Eagle Command Base!

Hmm I might get it :pir-sceptic: it's half price which is a steal. It's out of the troll assult wagon or this. I think this will be the last time that it will be able to get. And I think that the assult wagon will be around for a bit longer

I guess if it depends when I actually go there. I dont go that far often....

I think your right, MM had the potential to be better but as you said there are flaws, Oh well here's hoping the new Space Themes will be better. :thumbup:

On the topic of MM has anyone seen the Crystal Hawk? Since I've found the Troll Impulse and the Troll Impulse has been sighted at Toyworld [i havn't seen them there :pir-look: ] Shouldnt the Crystal Hawk be in the same Impulse wave as the Troll?

I might just order it from BTTW next time I make an order there since they have it... :pir-sceptic:

I don't think Troll Assault is that great. It has some nice pieces and the big sand-green Troll but it's really just a re-jigged version of the Viking catapult from a few years ago.

still no hoth base. lots of town plan though. no more batman or indy jones sets either. :sad:

what's interesting though is one day after the sale ends, HSD came back to TRU in throves!!! :hmpf_bad: i hate how these retailers fake rarity by warehousing those sets. my point? let's just say i won't be surprise to find hoth base sets back in TRU on 17th.

I noticed that the big Sydney Myer was devoid of Indy sets as well. Completely empty! But it had heaps of every other new set. I wonder if that's the end of the first wave release of Indy sets. Myer did have 25% off Indy a few months ago and I remember reading that NZ had a 50% off Speed Racer & IJ clearance sale a while back.

Pirates Month has addled poor Darth_Legois' mind and he is seeing cannons everywhere!

all impulse sets are now down to $4.99. with the sale it comes to $3.99 or possibly cheaper (if 25% or more).

for those interested in TRU sales, i just found out they restock every saturday morning. if you can't find the set during weekday, try again on saturday morning. the store near me just stock up like 10-20 hoth base sets. also available are the peru peril sets. however gone are the batman and IJ's crystal skull sets (except for peru).

I really want the Farm and Indy sets so looks like I will be making a S@H order in early Jan. And of course there's the Medieval Market set too :wub:

That is so weird about Pirates. I think someone said in Europe they will be around in May? If so I would have expected them to be here. And they were in the leaked European catalogue ages ago as well... Sob... It's Castle 08 all over again. Makes me feel better about getting them from the States though if I'd have to wait 6+ months for them to be in stores.
