AussieJimbo Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Picked up the Tennis Player I needed at Target Tuggeranong. Looked in Myer, amazingly they have put the modular fire station back up to $299, obviously don't want to move them yet. They had one Imperial Flagship if someone was looking for one. Nothing on sale (that I noticed) at Myer, Target or K-Mart. Myer have a "30% off selected toys, prices as marked", they may have had some Lego marked but I didn't look very hard. :classic:
Artanis I Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Just went to my Target - no minifigs, nothing new besides Star Wars battle packs (a fair few of each) and Ninjago starter packs. Very disappointing. They did however have 4 new board games, for some reason I bought the Ninjago one. Lego section is about half the size of what it usually is, and everything at full price.
Anonymous Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 I ordered a full set of series 3 from bricklink delivered for a little over $55aud. cheaper than buying a full set here and saves me some time since I don’t have to match the dots. Only down side is gotta wait for them to arrive in the mail. This also works for set 3661 Bank & Money Transfer there was a bricklinker selling for $44usd and it was $13.5usd postage with box or $9usd without. Not surprising that they sold out within 2 days (had 4 sets when I saw it). worked out to $58 aud shipped. Get some good deals from bricklink if you keep an eye out. I guess out strong dollar has its advantages atm.

Has any One else done this or can anyone recommend some good sellers? Edit: stoopid autocorrect. Edited January 15, 2011 by melike75
lightningtiger Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Target Castle Plaza in the checkout area has series 3 minifigs - can't wait for a 20% lego sale - please Target ! Big W is the cheapest for BP's under 19 bucks all the time. But I'm waiting for a sale before I buy the Dojo from Ninjago.....almost 80 bucks...meh on the price on such a cool set ! Keep on shopping everyone ! Oh, yeah just found this..... Toyworld Lego only sale ! Keep on shopping !
Redcross Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 I managed to pick up a full set of series 3 plus duplicates of my favorites at Target TTP using the bump code yesterday. Some of the codes were difficult to recognise. I couldn't recognise the gorilla suit until I felt that tell tale bannana.
BrettBrick Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 I found it quite difficult to sort using the dots. I ended up with an extra 2 gorillas mmm should of felt the banana. Will take them back a try for a fisherman and a Indian chief. There were another couple going through another box and using the codes and feel got a whole set even opened them instore to ensure they had a full set before leaving. At home I used a LED torch to shine across the bumps and still got 2 incorrect. This is hard, TLG this is not a kids toy, it is AFOL stuff. And the price no wonder they are bring bought in from OS.
lostdriveway Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 where's a good place in sydney city to buy lego? I'm here for a week down from QLD, and I'm also back here again in 2 weeks. Cheers
joeygunns Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Does anyone know when Pharaoh's Quest comes out here?
lightningtiger Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Does anyone know when Pharaoh's Quest comes out here? Not offically until mid-year, with rumour of being a store exclusive. But, BTTW and a few other dealers who also import Lego might have or be getting in PQ sets...I already have one flying mummy minifig from such a retailer. Keep on looking !
QUaGi Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 where's a good place in sydney city to buy lego? I'm here for a week down from QLD, and I'm also back here again in 2 weeks. Cheers Definitely visit Myer in the CBD, corner of Market and Pitt St (or George St). They have a great Lego display with Harbour bridge, a monkey and a few other bits and bobs. Some of the new 2011 sets are for sale there. Also worth visiting the Sydney Aquarium and/or Wildlife Park for the Lego Exhibition on. There is a Lego gift shop with plenty of sets at RRP including some of the Ninjago sets and Series 3 Collectible Minifigures (at $4.99). It's expensive for entry, and it will be busy because it is school holidays so expect to spend a couple of hours there. Note there is also a massive Lego mural that is free to participate in until the 19 January. Starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm. They even imported a bunch of pro Lego builders from the US to help out with this. You get given a 6x6 white plate and there are buckets of 1x1 coloured blocks you connect to the plate. After you finish, you receive a pamphlet with the unique serial number for your contribution, which you can then look up on their website once the mural is complete. Lego mural is is located on Cocklebay Wharf between Sydney Aquarium and Sydney Wildlife Park. No charge for this, it's FREE!
RileyC Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Hey guys me again! Just wondering if anyone knows of any sales for Lego, particularly Lego Star Wars in Melbourne this week. Thanks

I guess out strong dollar has its advantages atm. Thanks for the advice, I spent about an hour in Target when Series 2 came out sifting through barcodes for my set, I wasn't looking forward to doing that again without barcodes for series 3, add the extra markup to $5 a pop and it'd end up costing me $80 for a set, an hour or more trying to find them via brail bumps and even then no guarantee of getting a full set. I looked in bricklink last night and found a seller in denmark who had some, I had to buy a full box though but I figured I could resell them on ebay or here to make up for it, at the last minute I decided I'd buy 2 boxes to bring the cost of shipping down per minifig. So now I have 2 boxes, 120 minifigs on the way, my wife is gonna kill me. I think it'll come to about $54 per set of 16 in total, I'll likely put them on ebay for $70 plus free australian postage.

nzkiwiman Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 New Zealander here, coming over to Melbourne for the Formula 1 in March. Aside from various departments stores (David Jones, Myer, Big W, Kmart, Target and Toys R Us) are there any specialty Lego stores in the CBD or any of the suburbs (also Geelong and Bendigo since I am heading there to visit friends). Do any of the comic stores sell older Lego? Thanks for the assistance. Oh, and are BTTW any good? I see a few things I want there that I either passed on locally (K9 Bot) or a heap of other small sets I never saw in New Zealand. Shipping across the ditch seems to be good compared to another site I was looking at and it saves me importing from Europe via Bricklink.
AussieJimbo Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 (edited) Oh, and are BTTW any good? I see a few things I want there that I either passed on locally (K9 Bot) or a heap of other small sets I never saw in New Zealand. I've used them once and they were fine. Got a deluxe train track pack from them (4 packs of straight/curves, 2 packs of points) about a year ago for slightly less than I would have paid if I'd bought them as separate packs from S@H. In general their prices are round about Aussie retail, with some specials and some overpriced items. Also, saw a modular fire station today at DJ's Woden marked down to $210 alongside a depressingly meagre variety and quantity of sets. They obviously still haven't restocked since Xmas. :classic: Edited January 17, 2011 by AussieJimbo
QUaGi Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 hi Guy, Depends where you will live in HK, normally you can find Lego in large deparment stores, like Toy r us, UNI, Sogo or Justco They will sell standard official Lego from Lego.hk. However, you may goto some small shops in, Nathan Road, IN'S POINT shopping centre, Yau Mai Tei, close to Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. (please search it in Google) Or http://www.brickstime.com <-- this shop you can pay via Visa/Mastercard These shops are opening in late night, saying normally 19.00 - 22.00 in weekdays cos their owners should have been working full time job. Just kindly reminder, most of the shops are not accepting AE in HK, and most of the small shops are ONLY accepting cash. so please let me know if you like to have further information. Definitely try and do your research before you get to HK for Lego Shopping. I can confirm TRU is always a good stop for current sets and pricing is a little lower as per previous post. When I was there in August 2010, I found In's Point really good. You'll need to Google the location. Basically, it's a small floor filled with little vendors (guys/gals with with day jobs) that open up around 9pm for a few hours to sell collectible stuff. There is practically a whole floor - albeit quite a small floor, dedicated to mostly Lego stuff. I also travelled to AA Place, which was well off the beaten track but the couple who own and manage the store were super friendly. It's on HK Island, and you will need to catch a cab there or try figuring out how to catch a bus. Prices are not cheap, but there's heaps of accessories and old sets from yesteryear sitting on the shelves. Again, not a massive store by any stretch.
Whup Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Hey guys, I don't think this has been mentioned here, but Series 3 Minifigs have turned up at the Laygo store in Morphett Vale for all those that are after them!

He told me last week they were comming in, oh by the way ImagineIf stores also have series 3 plus SW/City Police/Ninjago sets too ! Keep on looking everyone !
WetWired Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I stopped in Target Brisbane CBD on the way to work this morning, they have series 3 in stock, I picked up 2 at random to tide me over until my boxes show up, I picked the 2 least interesting ones, race car driver and blacktron dude :( I also didn't realize that there was only 2 full sets per box, there's only 2 fisherman per full box. I ordered 2 more fisherman from online to make up 6 full sets, but it will throw off my prices for a full set. I'll let you guys know though when they show up and I do the math.
