Hello,

Not sure if this is applicable Australia wide, but it seems that K-Mart have dropped the price on the Star Wars Wampa 8089 set.

Was $59 on clearance, NOW $39.00

So if you have seen any at a near by store, it may be worth scanning the box to see if you too can grab a great buy at $39 dollars.

Cheers for this, I've been keeping an eye on this set waiting for it to drop further

I haven't seen any Wampa's at any Kmart in Adelaide for a while now.....still plenty of world racers though...man that theme bombed big time !

No feedback from Lego on mid-year stuff.....too busy getting ready for the toy fair eh ?

When is the sale supposed to start? On the website, it says it starts on March 10 (based on WA postcode), but the catalogue image says today!

I know it's a bit redundant now, but the front page of the catalogue clearly stated "March 9" even though all the supporting material pointed to the 10th. I thought this strange as most catalogues start on Thursdays, but the TRU staff didn't seem too phased when I came in asking about sale prices yesterday.

Saw a bunch of 8091 Swamp Speeders at TRU Innaloo, I kind of wanted this kit but it's way over priced. Was it a TRU exclusive as well? I've not seen it elsewhere.

I saw the City set with the red car and police car today at my local Target. It's probably the smallest exclusive set I've seen.

The Fire helicopter is $47 and the Fire Boat is still 69 bucks :hmpf_bad:

True, so true....69 bucks has been that price since release last year.

No one interstate have seen the bank with money truck set and an exclusive Ninjago set at any Kmart yet ?

If anyone in Perth wants the large sorting head, K-Mart in Morley has stock.

A few bits of clearance stock at the K-Mart in Morley (some stuff like the fire truck and boat, fire helicopter and others)

Nothing much else of note at Morley (TRU had some of the sale items but no public transport set) or at Inaloo.

This is not really an Aussie sale but apparently Series 4 minifigures are being released early (overseas at least) on the 21-24 of March. I have pre-ordered 2 boxes, so if my information is correct I should receive them in roughly 3 weeks...woohoo! lol

Okay, someone on flickr has uploaded some photos from the toy fair in Melbourne, I could just make out that the city harbour theme is August and the actual harbour set with crane and boat is 139.95....oddly enough they also give the markup margin as well - WTF ?

Going back to flickr now to see anything else.....Brick On Everyone !

That price confirms that I will not be buying the harbor (not with so much other good stuff to buy this year and a very very limited budget)

Can anyone tell me a .au release date for any of these:

Pirates Of The Caribbean

Cars

Alien Conquest

Pharaoh's Quest

Harry Potter (Diagon Alley and the 3 other sets)

Creator Hillside House

Collectible Minifigures Series 4 and 5

City Space

Well city space is next month and Cars2 plus POTC are both meant to May release.

We can assume that the rest except for the minifigs and Diagon Alley will also be August....of course Kmart might get the city harbour stuff for their mid-year toy sale...like they have every year I believe !

They do that a lot; I've got photos of the 7897 Passenger train markup.

Yeah, that's the point of the toy fair. It exists to get buyers from retail stores to make orders. To do that the buyers like to know how much they will pay for the set and what the recommended retail price is.

Pirates Of The Caribbean

Cars

Alien Conquest

Diagon Alley will depend on if a retailer gets an exclusive deal. It wasn't among the exclusives I saw (which were there to show the retailers who will be getting them) They included Tower Bridge, Star Wars Advent Calender, The Winter Toy Shop & Bakery. I asked the Maketing Manager about these. Lego Australia gets special permission to get a limited quantity of these sets and offers them as store exclusives because we have no Lego brand stores in Oz. I pointed out the initial quantities of Emerald Night were too low, she said it was an experiment and they had learned from it, and stock levels for future exclusives would be higher.

I didn't see any sign of the new trains yet :-(

For anyone who is interested, I may have a few of the Commuter Jet 7696 Airline exclusive in the coming weeks. I'll be putting them on Ebay, but for anyone interested I'll sell them for $45 each plus postage (I'm guessing about $5 should cover that). I'll be putting them a bit higher on Ebay to cover costs. PM me if your interested & I'll keep you informed.

Any idea who is picking up the exclusives?

If anyone has a contact in the right place, someone should tell Lego Australia to bring in more stock of whatever the next modular is. David Jones sold every Grand Emporium they could get their hands on and based on what I have seen (and what I have heard from AFOLs and from DJs employees) they could have sold a few more.

Peterab, thanks for the news about the exclusives. I always thought the winter bakery was ok but couldn't justify the price plus shop at home shipping. That's great news it will be out here at a retailer some time this year.

I have just ordered 2 boxes of series 4 as well, I'll likely sell off the extra sets to pay for my own set if anyone is interested. I could buy 2 loose mad scientists off ebay or somewhere to make 6 complete sets but then I won't have 3 musketeers and 3 bio hazard guys for myself :P

So there'll be 3 spare sets and numerous spares of most kinds, if anyone is interested PM me. But note they won't be shipped til the end of the month.
