lightningtiger Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 On Thursday.....20% Lego at Target again, but 3368 space centre only 94 bucks and Ninjago Dojo is going to be 59 bucks ! Hello space centre ! Keep on shopping !
Cadder Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 (edited) Has anyone seen Series 4 Minifigs yet? I don't really expect any shop to be 'early' but one can hope. I jumped the gun and bought a box off Bricklink. I can get them for about half the price any store is going to sell them here. They should get here about the time they're appearing in shops too. I did the same with a box of S3s. I had them in my hot little mitt BEFORE they'd appeared in any Aussie shops. On Thursday.....20% Lego at Target again, but 3368 space centre only 94 bucks and Ninjago Dojo is going to be 59 bucks ! Oooh! thx for the tip. I *nearly* bought the Dojo on the weekend! jonwil Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 It wouldn't surprise me if the big retailers (Target etc) are holding off on releasing Series 4 minifigures for a while because of the large amount of Series 3 still out there in the stores. Last thing a big retailer wants to do is to release something new when the previous item is still widely available.

I actually visted a few stores that sell lego, I found a large supply of S3 in all of them. In the past I have found Target to have them in numbers, but today Myer and Toyworld had a few boxes. All three had the space and technic sets and Toyworld had the new Atlantis sets too. Which is a little odd as I expected them at the end of next week.

Keep on shopping ! Wow, will bring the price down of some of their cheapers sets even further. Time to make a bigger purchase I think!
dyntar Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Has anyone seen Series 4 Minifigs yet? I don't really expect any shop to be 'early' but one can hope. I got a box of series 4 figs at Toyworld today. Looks like they have reached Victoria. Looks like we have a different figure assortment too.. 4 scientists in a case instead of 2 like the UK gets.
Clone-Trooper Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Hey All, Not sure if anyone visits the online David Jones website (I didn't even know it excisted) but if you want a bargain in the City Police Boat range then continue reading on......... http://www2.davidjones.com.au/shop-online/product-details.jsp?productID=105137&category=2770316 7287 City Police Boat now at $23.96 down from $29.99 because of the 20% OFF currently (Lego.com.au RRP is $49.99!!) I just ordered x3 because David Jones charges $12 or $13 dollars postage so I figured I should make use of the postage fee and make it worth my while, still, each set comes out to be $29.29, better then any % OFF sale and obviously an incorrect price entered in by David Jones staff...... Thankyou David Jones. Every other set appears to be normal RRP prices apart from the Police Boat.

I also used a coupon code KSTART15 which gives 15% off toys. The items that stood out to me after the coupon was applied were: Lego City Train Station Approx AU$31 delivered Lego Technic Motorbike Approx AU$39 delivered Lego Ninjargo Spinzitsu Dojo Approx AU$42 delivered Lego Garmadons Dark Fortess Approx AU$67 delivered Hope this helps someone!!!

I tries to use thehut, but it wouldn't let me enter a delivery address in Australia. You were able to were you? I had previously noticed the DJ mistake, on the price of the Police boat, but also noticed to new Atlanis set for $40 that is usually $120. DJ have no idea! Has anyone spotted a Grand Emporium during the 20%off sale?

I also had trouble signing up with my Australian address using Safari as the browser but when I logged on with Internet Explorer Australia showed up in the drop down box where you put your address....weird but they definitely ship to Australia, they are sister sites with Zavvi which I have also bought from. As others have said maybe read some reviews on the site before purchasing but at the end of the day make your own decision based on the price and what you want from the set. For example if you care about mint boxes I wouldnt suggest buying anything from overseas due to the high likelihood postal services will abuse your package and it will end up at least partially squashed! I would suggest shipping times are the reason most people complain but they cant be much worse than B&N and yet I still keep going back for the price! Edited April 4, 2011 by ang911

Has anyone spotted a Grand Emporium during the 20%off sale? That Atlantis set is for the Raider, and the description is correct. It's only the picture that shows the City of Atlantis set. If only it was really selling for $40, I would buy at least two of them without hesitation. But I doubt that DJs would actually send a City of Atlantis for that price...
Civic Bossman Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 K-Mart Maddington (WA) have the City Fire Helicopter going for $29
DarthSion Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 (edited) Other than BL, do any USA sites deliver to us, $1.04 and claims it will go to $1.10 is too temping. Edited April 4, 2011 by DarthSion

Just sayin'.

Friction Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Just to let anyone know that may have been interested in the Myer 20% off sale in the Brisbane, the sale doesn't start until Thursday. David Jones however has their 20% off sale at the moment. This is for the South East area of Brisbane.
ang911 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Other than BL, do any USA sites deliver to us, $1.04 and claims it will go to $1.10 is too temping. Only stores I know of that ship direct to Aus from the US are: Barnes and Noble (great prices, very cheap shipping, SLOW delivery) Toywiz (good prices, 5% off coupon always available, fast delivery but shipping can be stupidly expensive, I just put items in my cart to see how much the shipping is as it varies a lot e.g. 1 box of 60 minifigs can be only $30 shipping but 1 individual minifig can be $40 shipping!?!?) FatBrainToys (average prices, only really worth it if they have a sale or coupon) If anyone knows of any others I would love to know as well! There is always the option of using a parcel forwarder but from experience I would only recommend this option for really expensive sets when there is a large gap between au and us rrp and for taking advantage of some of the really good sales at stores that dont ship directly to us e.g. Amazon, TRU, Target especially when they have buy two get one free deals. Keep in mind the cost of shipping however can sometimes negate a lot of the savings....

jonwil Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Went out today. DJs Perth CBD had 20% off but no stock of note. MYER Perth CBD had nothing interesting. Nothing of note at Target in Fremantle or K-Mart in Kardinia either. BUT... Toyworld in Fremantle had the Fire Brigade modular at 200 bucks (down from the usual 300 bucks) and they had quite a few of them. The REALLY BIG news though is that they ALSO had most of a box of S4 minifigs on the counter with a price tag of 4.95 each. I am now the proud owner of a Punk Rocker, a Mad Scientist, a Hazmat Guy and an Artist. So if you want Minifigs series 4, give your local Toyworld store a buzz.
