I Scream Clone Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 (edited) This is quite a broad statement, and to say that ColesMyer "used to be all the above mentioned stores" is not true. I don't recall ColesMyer ever owning Big W or Toys R US? perhaps you are confusing Toys R Us with World 4 Kids(which was owned by ColesMyer), a lot of things happen that people aren't aware of but if you had read my previous post this would have enlightened you. Here is what the Coles Group owns currently http://www.colesgroup.com.au/Home/ Here is what Woolworths owns http://www.woolworthslimited.com.au/phoeni...amp;p=our-brand Myer is its own Business as is David Jones and Toys R Us. Now onto new sets, Our local Toyworld is reporting that they are expecting New sets to arrive next week. The girl at KMart is also expecting them at the same time. Time will tell. Our Boxing Day orders from Shop@Home arrived on Monday which was quite a surprise as we only payed for regular mail and not Express. Anyone else receive there's yet? Sorry for the confusion, I meant all the previously mentioned shops owned by Coles also includes Myers in addition to that list. This is based on old knowledge of my time working for the Coles Myer group, and we used to have a discount card that worked at Grace Bros/ Myer in addition to the listed shops on the Coles website. They may have since split from the company, though this would be wierd to name it Myer if this was the case. I was refering to your list. I am aware that the other companies are owned by wollworths etc. No harm done, just misunderstanding Cheers Edited January 8, 2009 by I Scream Clone

No reason to change the name Myer after the split as it was the Myer stores that were sold off and that would have included the name as well. Edited January 9, 2009 by Lego_in_Oz
Svelte Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 That would explain it, we spent over $800, mainly because my wife wanted 2 medieval villages. Last year we waited 11 working days for our order to arrive from shop at home after paying for express mail... Here is the funny thing though, it was in Perth 4 days after placing the order. Courier Australia was supposed to deliver on the 5th Day but had no room in there van So it was put to the side until a van was made available. That's right they required a dedicated van.(Its a 45 Minute round trip from their depot to our place). Call Lego directly if it hasn't arrived after 8 days for Express shipping and they'll harass the subcontractor. Otherwise you can complain and they'll track things down or help you out in other ways - last year I had a standard order that didn't arrive within 18 business days and when I queried where it was a Lego rep refunded the $45 standard shipping fee The Myer rewards system is quite good with all the bonus points etc - I think I got 1500 bonus points or something ridiculous from buying during the July sales I've already had a few $20 vouchers just from Lego purchases, which is pretty good.

The Lego rep my wife spoke with last year advised that the Postage would be refunded ($100) and within 2 days it was That is great customer service if you ask me as she didn't ask for a refund on the postage we just wanted to know where the Lego was. The Myer rewards is different now to the Fly Buys program it use to have when it was part of ColesMyer and apparently the rewards are easier to earn but we just don't spend as much at Myer as we used to. We're currently trying the Woolworths Easymoney Credit Card to see what type of rewards we will get from them. Only one rule with it though, it's paid of every month in full to avoid paying any interest.

Even better, you have a wife who shares your passion for Lego On second thought... does that lead to arguments over who gets what brick?
Lego_in_Oz Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Even better, you have a wife who shares your passion for Lego On second thought... does that lead to arguments over who gets what brick? Yeah I am lucky to have her, She is currently collecting the Castle Theme. And no arguments yet
Darth_Legois Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 Exciting news indeed! The hunt begins! Awww damnit I almost went to target today but thought...."nawww there wont be anything" Well there might not have but yea.. I'll probable just pick up the impulses and smaller sets for now.
I Scream Clone Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Even better, you have a wife who shares your passion for Lego On second thought... does that lead to arguments over who gets what brick? Well you are doing better than me, my wife only humors me at this stage. I will bring her to the dark side soon..... Great news about sets already appearing. I think even though i don't by Town sets, the minfigure pack is a must (as well as BBQ chef ) Some BP's may be in order too. Cheers

MicroM Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 PLenty of new SW kits out at the moment in Brisbane. Target have a the whole range. I always like seeing the kits in the flesh, I like the Assassin droids more now, and even the Droid bomber looked a little better than I thought from the online photos. My local K-Mart had at least 2 dozen Vader's Tie, I haven't seen so many instances of 1 kit before, I wonder if it was an ordering mistake. Though I am hoping they are going to do a special on them soon, $49 seems a little steep.
Admiral Blockbeard Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Not sales related... but close enough Talked to a contact lately, he is thinking the pirate Lego will be released in Australia with in the next two months. I am hoping he is as reliable as i think he is. Regards, Cpt. PB

Yea, Im waiting for them to go on sale, I had to keep reminding myself "Remember, Wait for the sales....SALES!!!"
Svelte Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Anti-sales! There's been a post-New Year price rise at S@H on some sets. I haven't had an exhaustive look but I did notice that 8636 Deep Sea Quest has jumped $10 to $89.99 and 10188 Death Star has jumped $70 to $699.99. 10189 Taj Mahal also jumped to $499.99! Lucky you bought when you did, Sinner! Looks like the days of cheaper exclusives is gone, kids. Please don't get to Medieval Market Village just yet, O Cruel Lego price overlords... EDIT: Also, most of the IJ sets and last year's Spongebob sets are back in stock.

EDIT: Also, most of the IJ sets and last year's Spongebob sets are back in stock. ah...glad the lego rep didn't stoop me up. i still have 6 months to get them. my frantic cries before christmas was ill-founded, i guess.
Svelte Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 they always do this! my guess is kmart or david jones will be retailing DS or taj mahal then. That was my first thought too. No doubt we will see the Taj at the 'sale' price of $400 in a few months time. But it does seem kind of early to do the markup, ah...glad the lego rep didn't stoop me up. i still have 6 months to get them. my frantic cries before christmas was ill-founded, i guess. So that's what that strange, eerie wailing coming from across the harbour was... good to clear that up
Brickthing Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Hi, I might be able to get some sets from Australia soon, so I was wondering if anyone knows what new BIONICLE sets are in Aus right now? Thanks
Svelte Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I've only seen the small ones from the 2009 lineup in stores so far.... sets 8972-8977.
hollisbrick Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Myer normally has everything on time. Also K-mart has all the smaller bionicles with the Cuty MF pack (which I was tempted to buy ) and the city, pirate and castle creator sets Brick is Back
Lego_in_Oz Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Hi All, our Kmart has received a few sets this week they are: 8018 AAT. 8019 Republic Attack Shuttle 7633 Construction Site 8401 Minifigure collection Interestingly the Republic Attack Shuttle was $94 and the Construction Site was $134.
Svelte Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Interestingly the Republic Attack Shuttle was $94 and the Construction Site was $134. K-Mart often discounts on RRP for the higher priced sets for new releases. I think the Construction Site will be one of those sets that all the retailers price around $99 for a special sale at some point in its life, like last year's Police HQ or the Agents truck. Still nothing at my local K-Mart, which was well-stocked in 08 stuff, but Target had the full new range of 09 sets
Brickthing Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Is the Pirate survival Impulse avaliable in Aus yet? If not, which Pirate sets are? Thanks
natelite Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Is the Pirate survival Impulse avaliable in Aus yet?
