Hewman Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 (edited) Seems to only be at those 2 specific stores. I saw similar coupons in one of the local newspapers a while back for one of the WA Toyworld stores (Subiaco or Claremont I think) and was intending to tell everyone about it but by the time I remembered, the sale was over. Am I missing something? I couldn't see what stores or states. Any help would be appreciated. Edit: Yes I was missing something, it's on the second link, two stores in Victoria. lightningtiger Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 I'm on the hunt.....found this one in NSW..... Caseys Toys & Hobbies website Still hunting !
Gabe Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Hey fellow LEGO lovers. I got a Toyworld pamphlet in the mail the other day that's got up to 50% off till Sunday coupons: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/32/scan0005jo.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/20/scan0007f.jpg/ Donno if they accept printouts, but could be worth a shot? I was at Toyworld this afternoon to take advantage of this sale - got a Mill Village Raid and Dragon's Prison for a tick over $100, can't beat that! I had my own flyer, but i did ask if they accepted printouts, the answer is sadly, no. (At the Brunswick store at least) But it's a great sale if you can get yr hands on a coupon flyer.
dotmike Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 How much would those Toyworld vouchers make a Winter Village Bakery? (Not that I really have the opportunity, the fuel cost of the drive to the nearest Toyworld would probably negate the saving.) I did go into two Toys R Us stores today and can report no 2507 Fire Temples - the TRU magic portal to the US hasn't opened yet. But I did find a 10191 Fire Brigade and it scanned at $199.99, so the TRU 20% voucher above brought it down to $159.98. I'm happy to pay $9.98 not to be waiting for Fishpond to both offer the deal again and then to randomly cancel the order!

It's supposed to only be on full priced toys, and I don't think $199 is full price for a fire brigade. I'm tempted to give that a go myself.
lightningtiger Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Yep, they want that's Toyworld....the real deal....their flyers only....not copies. Found out the hard way, but since the store manager knew me and my son came along did a deal for me on the Knight Bus. So for those lucky enough to score a flyer, lucky you !

I'm tempted to give that a go myself. You shouldn't have a problem if you want one. Yes, the LEGO S@H RRP is 299.99, but I'd seen that TRU 199.99 price some months ago, so I knew they'd been selling them for that (not just during sale times). It was just that by the time I wanted it (for someone getting their start on the modulars) my local TRU had sold out of all theirs, so I had to try other TRU stores. Today, I price checked the set first, then took it to the counter and gave it to the checkout girl with the printed 20% voucher. She scanned the set first (199.99), then the voucher (-20%), which reduced the price (159.98). She then clipped the voucher to the register, and I paid. Done.
Hinckley Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 i cant wait till the 21st !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We expect proper grammar, capitalization and controlled use of exclamation points here. Please don't let this happen again. Thank you.
KartoffelViking Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Hinckley, you killed our thread! But I'll try to revive it again: I picked up Emperor Palpatine's Shuttle for $30 and a Clone Turbo Tank for $100 from Baby Target at Golden Grove (Adelaide). I didn't see any more around, so it may have been the last ones they had, but it might be worth giving them (or other Targets) a ring if you're still looking for those sets. This weekend is also the last of the Myer toy sale. Does anyone know if you get an extra 10 % off if you're a Myer One member?
dotmike Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 This weekend is also the last of the Myer toy sale. Does anyone know if you get an extra 10 % off if you're a Myer One member? The Myer toy sale doesn't end until next weekend, 23/24 July. I give it 50-50 whether they have the extra MyerOne 10%. I'm pretty sure they did last year, but that's no guarantee of a repeat. Still, with the financial gloom reported by the big retailers' profit results, they better do something to bring the buyers in. Whether there's any desirable stock left is another matter, but I did count four Imperial Flagships and eight Tower Bridges at Myer Miranda last Thursday (probably because they were late getting them and didn't have them the first weekend of the sale). The more child friendly range - Star Wars, POTC, etc - was pretty depleted, however. No Millennium Falcons, no Queen Anne Revenges. Anyway, no one's going to have much LEGO money left after buying their Alien Conquests and Diagon Alleys on Thursday at Target.

Ah, I really thought this was the last weekend, thanks for the update. And good point about the upcoming Target sale. I'll be picking up Alien Conquest and Spongebob Squarepants myself, you can keep the Diagon Alleys Might have to do a midnight run, though.

Maybe you should have waited until Thursday morning.....20% off again....ah, well still great prices. I finally saw a USC Jedi Starfighter at a BigW the other day....TTP...funny never saw it during the toy sales ! I'll join the line up Thursday morning for Hogwarts at least for my son. Shop On everyone !
KartoffelViking Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Maybe you should have waited until Thursday morning.....20% off again....ah, well still great prices. I was considering it, but feared they'd be picked up by someone else before the sales starts.
TheDarkness Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 After saying no more ordering (though this is now the last one!) I placed another Amazon UK order. Could not resist the Technic 8052 Container Truck at 33.33 pounds, so bought a few of them. Christmas shopping is done early this year, and will consist of Lego for most family members
bensl Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 saw a number of star wars 10212 sets at my local bigw today. would love to have grabbed one but i dont think it is quite worth the $448 price tag! did look nice though....
jonwil Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 For those concerned about box quality, I have noticed the wire security devices on Star Wars sets at some targets but not at other Targets. So if your store cant (or wont) sell you one without a damaged box, try looking around for a store that will.
Hewman Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I don't recall seeing this mentioned before but the new cargo train (set 3677) is up on Shop at Home ($290), as is the Naboo Starfighter ($80). For those in Adelaide I saw the old 10191 Star Justice set for $60 at ImagineIf at Newton on the weekend, they also had a bunch of other Lego discounts which I think included 25% off Space Police. They weren't allowing loyalty points for sale items though.

Hhmmm $80 vs $50US. Not great plus shipping from Lego is a b$&@!. Anyone know if this one might end up as an exclusive somewhere?
Hewman Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 (edited) cancelled by hewman, got my info wrong. Edited July 18, 2011 by hewman

Pennas2000 Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 My local Target has 28 Diagon Alleys! And they told me there were more out back!!!! Crazy. And I'm only in Bendigo.
Hewman Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 (edited) My local Target has 28 Diagon Alleys! And they told me there were more out back!!!! Crazy. And I'm only in Bendigo. That is crazy! Myer (Adelaide) had all the new HP sets (excluding Diagon Alley of course) plus re-stocking of some of last year's, the castle, train and quidditch sets. So it may be worth waiting to see if they have an extra 10% off this weekend before buying them there or at Target from tomorrow. From today, toys r us have 20% off Star Wars lego, that's probably only useful for any exclusives though. Edited July 20, 2011 by hewman
Hemish Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I hope my local has that many, I dont have high hopes of scoring one though
Hewman Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I hope my local has that many, I dont have high hopes of scoring one though Lots of stores are open at Midnight (well one minute past) and I think most other stores are opening at 7 am if you're keen. They may even still accept lay-bys for it.
